I have been waiting for a silly / absurdist GB book that I could call a favorite and this scratched that itch big time. I really didn't know how the present tense would go down but it actually made the book more intimate? It certainly revitalizes and provides freshness to the proceedings (the narrative voice really makes you empathize with the protagonist). Kinda a gross & tongue in cheek book but I vibe with that. There's an acknowledgement of the abject body horror while leaning into the absurdity of it which I find rather effective (Cronenberg would be proud!). Think this also gets undervalued as an airtight book in the series, it culminates very smoothly and precisely. Reading this is such a high it's rather thrilling, I was hooked from the first page to the last.

Love the adventure, weirdo, freakish enegry the book posesses, how the book inverts things in our culture we take as typical is so creative and cheeky. Stine with this book was willing to kick back and have some fun (it's even to the point of some self depreciation like the bits where Arlene & Jacob talk about a test and them being a robot. It seems like a jab at previous Goosebumps formulas, even the very ending seems like a bit of a Calling All Creeps send up), he wanted to have a last hurrah with the pulpy silly tone he's cultivated over the years (with some fun at its expense) and it's such a lovely inviting experience. Yet another excellent book in an excellent series, Series 2000 as a whole is becoming one of my favorites. Wish I read them all as a kid but super happy to be getting in touch with them as an adult.

This book is just strange, it’s really similar to an earlier book in series 2000: Brain Juice. In both books there are some scenes in space which is really cool. I have always liked fiction books set in space or another planet. Not Sci-Fi though, there is only a handful of sci-Fi books I have enjoyed.

Overall this book has lots of twists and turns, one which is why I rated the book 4/5. I really recommend to read this book. It is very overhated and underrated.

So first impressions from the first chapters of this book reminds me of Shocker On Shock Street, I Live In Your Basement and Planet of the Lawn Gnomes and all those books has the themes of the main character that is not what they think they be and it kinda is in this book in some ways and also those 3 books I mentioned have one thing in common: They suck or just plain boring while in this one, I kinda like it and enjoyed this type of story this time around, the plot follows our main characters that ended up in a different planet that is not earth and the habitants of this planet basically has them wanted and that basic summary is basically the whole stretch of the first 100 pages, it is a kinda long set up especially this being similar to the books I compared this too where the punchline is in the ending but atleast we get a little more logic than just a twist ending which usually makes those books sucks and given the journey of our characters with their situation adds a little more sense and atleast more worth it to follow.

A middle tier book but definetly far to be considered horrible, it's a cool story in some little parts of this book in my opinion.

Well...
Going to keep this one short and sweet. Probably my least favorite Series 2000 book. Boring, incredibly formulaic / structured, and predictable. Did not care for this book really at all. Didn't hate it, there are worse GB books out there, but this one is really at the bottom of Series 2000 for me. Only have 1 left to go in my reread / review of the series, and there is no way it can be worse than this one.

Earth geeks must go… what a fucking title. I mean first things first this is the craziest goosebumps book ive ever read, more crazy than even brain juice. So with that being said its obvious that i was a blast. I didnt love it but i like it a lot and it takes lots of risks in the sense that its so random. Not much else to say about this one, its just one hell of a good time, 8/10.

Yay for Steins Sci Fi! One thing I found as an inconstincey- Jacob knocked Arlene down and she "dusted off her tank top" then a page later she "pushes up the sleeve of her sweater". Also, they call then "Earth geeks" and in context that seams like an insult on the news "earth geeks must go" when they are found out in school the others surrond them menancelgy and chant "Earth geeks" then all of a sudden the mayer says it is a compliment. It is rather convienant that english is spoken on the planet too, besides the numbers. And that Jake can read the thoughts of the splatters. They may talk telapathcly but then he can just magicaly read thier minds. Overall, enjoyable.

I read this book when I was 9 years old. I absolutely loved it then! I don't know what I'll feel if I read it now after all these years. I don't intend to either. I want to preserve that childhood memory and feel.

Fatoni Maraton Goosebumps Series 2000

This is the biggest wtf I’ll ever give a book. And also the best wtf. This book was unbelievably entertaining and the plot was killer. Ending was in line with the story. Really great characters and interesting villain. No complaints whatsoever.

This was a bad book. It reminded me so much of Haunting With The Stars, and that was almost the same thing with this one. The main characters are going to another planet, just weird stuff happening. I hate these types of books. They are dumb and don't ever make sense.

Stine said that this one, along with “Brain Juice” were his own favorite goosebumps creations. I can see why. This one was not as good as “Brain Juice”, but not far from it either. It has really cool ideas. And the suspense is perfectly executed. Hail goosebumps !

Never judge a book by it's stupid title and cover. This was a solid Goosebumps story, and I'm pretty sure it was connected to Calling All Creeps.

Awards: None

Grade Level: 3rd-6th

Summary:
Jacob Miller is starting his first day at a school. He doesn't recognize any kids from the last year. Everyone is speaking an unusual language, and the map of the earth is a different shape. Soon he realizes that he is on a different planet. He makes a friend that is like him, but they both cannot remember where they are from. They stumble across a TV and see the news that says "Earth aliens on planet are dangerous and must be hunted", that is when they realize that they need to get off the planet. A spaceship comes in at the end and saves the two kids and brings them back to earth.

Review:
I thought that the book makes you see the point of view from an alien's perspective. The vocabulary was easy to read, and used sight words no more than a 4th grade level. This was a good introduction to fantasy books for young readers.

Possible In-class Uses:
1. Students can reinvent a different ending pretending that the spaceship never came to pick up the kids, and share with a neighbor what they would do.

2. Students could complete a graphic book organizer (beginning, middle, and end of story) for the book.
