This book was a free download on Kindle. I have to admit I wasn't sure about this book from some of the reviews I saw and put off reading it for awhile. I finally decided to read it and I have to say that I as so glad I did and really enjoyed it. The best part for me in my opinion is that Jack felt like a real person. He was flawed and knew that about himself. I had no problem with the way the thought and is reactions to situations in his life. He was sad, lonely, angry, confused and real. I am a huge romance fan and most of the books I read usually end with happily ever after but is that really the way life works out? Not always and I felt the best part of this book was the epilogue because it was so truthful. I highly recommend this book. It may not have ended the way you would like but it did end excatly the way is should. Thanks Jonas!!

Sure, he isn't Hemingway or Faulkner or McCarthy. He is Jonas Eriksson, and I'm glad about that. His writing reads real. It feels real. What I like most about the book is that behind the homour lies that certain type of seriousness that reminds me how to be human, and that I am human. Looking forward to reading the rest of his books.

As a self-discovery journey, it's extremely flawed, and to a certain extent, realistic. But I couldn't get past the unlikeable qualities of the main character--shallow, egotistical, selfish--when in the end, he doesn't really redeem himself. The ending was too absurd and didn't justify the journey itself.

I read some reviews prior to reading the book and found some not too glowing. Thought I should judge for myself. I did and want to say I thought the book was quite good. Jack, the main character, is probably quite common in this day and age. I thought the author portrayed him well and did a fine job with the story.

Blech. I borrowed this book and thought it was supposed to be funny. It was a total downer. The main character is a complete jerk. (He's worse than that but I'm trying to be PC.) Don't bother with this. It sucked.

This has to be the oddest book I have ever read!

It's one gigantic rambling in the life of Jack. There are no chapters just a little white space and a few asterisks.

I almost gave it 1 star but because I feel generous I gave it 2...

I fast-forwarded through this book.
It was slow to start, and I actually decided not to finish it until checked out a review on here...
It mentioned that the book doesn't end like most romance novels do, with people getting exactly what they want, and that sparked my interest. So, I jumped through pages. Only read dialogues, not descriptions or the narration from the protagonist's POV.
It helped me get through it faster. But the fact that I had to do that shows it wasn't the book for me and I couldn't appreciate it in the way it was meant to be.

Editor Needed

This was one crazy read, but I just had to finish it to see how it would end. I must say this author needs an editor of at least a good proof reader! I'm terrible at proof reading but the errors were so glaring and huge I couldn't help but see them. Keep on writing but get some help on catching errors!

The book had a slow start, but once the pace picked up it was a fast read. I picked it up because I really like the cover. Would I read it again? No, most likely not. But it was a good light read for a Saturday afternoon. Like one of those movies you happen to land on while channel surfing... entertaining enough but nothing too exciting or groundbreaking. Nothing too memorable, but not terrible either - if it was, I would've given up, but it managed to keep my attention. So I say give it a try.

The author's voice was good, I got the whole guy attitude thing, but... GEEZ, was this tedious. I gave up at 30%... and it took me THREE days to force myself that far. It just never WENT anywhere. He's an alcoholic, workaholic jerk at the beginning, and at 5%, and at 10%, and at 25%... and he's just not WORTH it.

Forget it. I give up. This guy deserves his business to fail. He deserves an STD. He deserves liver cancer. What he doesn't deserve is a book about him.

I honestly didn't see much of a point to the story. There wasn't a big climax or much of a conclusion. It just kept going and nothing really drove the plot. The characters weren't worth getting invested in and everything remained very superficial. I kept reading because I kept expecting it to get better and for something to happen. There were also many typos and errors. Bad editing.

Not at all what I expected this book to be. in general I liked the book but something about it doesn't seem believable. I couldn't relate to the characters and didn't get even the slightlest but emotionally involved. although the ending was abrupt I liked how it ended.
