Nya has enjoyed her time on Arcros, mediating minor disputes and arranging marriages. She never expected that she had been offered the position based on her suitability to be a Draikyn mate, and that her soon to be lover was working his way through stone pathways to her side. Hyfor is not what she was expecting, but as she was expecting to work in obscurity, she wasn’t really prepared for anything. Mating with a dragon might be a good bar joke, but the reality far eclipsed the fantasy.
The beginning is very confusing and I had to re-read several times to figure out who was who and what was what. You get the general feel of the characters but no real depth. We know that Nya is laid back and not quick to anger. Hyfor is very dominate but Nya’s happiness is more important than anything else. Other than that we don’t really get to know the characters better, which is most likely due to the very rapid pace of the book.
Honestly I feel that if the author had just given a little more depth and length, this would have been an entertaining read. As it is, while not bad, it did lack.
Working in Mediation has been a challenge, but dealing with a temperamental dragon who claims her is a whole new job for Nya.

The are some good points to this book. The plot is not one I’ve come across before and I found it very interesting. I loved the details which really brought the world, in which the story is based around, alive. That being said, it could have been better and with the writing ability that this author has, it should have.
