Listened to this one. Short novel. Didn’t care for the narrator though. A bit strange to have a Brit narrating a book that takes place in Boston. And her voice seemed so panicked which is hard to concentrate when driving. Story was meh.

I'm so irritated that it took a deathly experience of Will for Valerie to finally realize that she needed some help!!!! Why my man gotta go through all that just for her to realize that her mental illness is affecting her decision making thus putting her colleagues in danger like Val, Val, honey PLEASE!!! She was irritating the crap out of me in this book, I was ready to stomp on her like hello?? Your friends are suffering!!! But thank the Lord above the Heavens, she finally decided on getting help at the end of the book smh

Outside of Val being a royal dumbass, book was paced well, absolutely love love loveeeddd seeing more of Charlie's life. He's hilarious and I love him and I am sooo ready for the next book bc this here cliffhanger on my man is not it. >:(

Pierce you make me feel things - a talent for sure, but also a curse

Ok, normally I write a review for the first book of the series, then another on the last book. But I'm going to break the norm and make a couple of comments.

First, I wish the woman reading the audiobook didn't sound like she was telling a ghost story around the campfire. It just throws me and makes it hard for me to immerse myself into the story. It's not a scary campfire type of story. Not the books fault, but worth noting.

Second, I don't have it marked that I have read this one before, but it seemed vaguely familiar. I'm pretty good at immediately logging my read books on here when completed. So, either I somehow did not do that, or this story is very much like another story I've read. Which would be pretty disappointing.

Ok. I'm done. Off to read another!

Blake Pierce my bane, fascination and growing obsession.

If fictional characters could be "human" Blake Pierce pens them. (A example is Monahan in "No Sleep" as one of the most colorful.). Pierce's characters are wonderful, flawed and enduring. I read on average 4 books a week but each book in Mr. Pierces series leads to more " I will do that at the end of the chapter " and lots of take out food. Needless to say, he is one of my favorite authors.

Loved it

Twisting, gripping edge of your seat thriller. The continuation of Val, will and Charlie tracking down serial killers. Wonderful stuff.
Well written with great characters and dialogue.

Someone at HBO please pick this up and make it into a TV series.

Valerie is full of doubts regarding her private life and the case in Boston is not helping her. The team is working full-time but is not able to produce results. The killer, however, is just piling up the victims. The story mixes the personal stories of the FBI agents with that of the search for the killer and his reasons for doing it. It has a slow start but it gets fast-paced soon enough. Looking forward to reading the following book in the series.

Valerie has a lot happening in her personal life. Then added to that her team has to track a killer in Boston who seems to just disappear after he kills. Things begin to heat up and then something happens that really is awful! This is really one you HAVE to read! Love these books! Thanks, Blake, for this book!
