Sometimes new neighbors…
Can be murder.
Proud owner of the This and That thrift shop for more than thirty years, Sarah Fletcher lives a quiet life in the quaint small town of Cupston, Maine. Her daughter Sage is a well-known furniture flipper who showcases her reinvented pieces at her mom’s beloved shop.

Things are pretty tranquil for Sarah until an overbearing duo, the Petersons, move into the house next door to This and That.

Tempers rise and tension builds between the new neighbors when the obnoxious pair insists that Sarah’s shop should be shut down, blaming traffic and noise issues.

Just when she thought things really couldn’t get much worse, a body is discovered much too close to home, and Sarah is eyed as a prime suspect.

It’s up to Sarah and Sage to muster their resources and solve the crime, before Sarah loses her business and her freedom.

Can they crack the case in time? Find out in this exciting thrift shop Cozy Mystery!

After reading the second book I went back and found the first book

I had read the second book and enjoyed it so I went back to find the first book. This book introduces the characters Sage who buys things for her flipping business at auctions and estate sales, Sarah her mother who runs a consignment store, Cliff a potential boyfriend for Sage, and Carrie her best friend. Sarah is having problems with her neighbor who then turns up dead behind the store. From their the story picks up with lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read looking forward to the third book.

Part of the charm of a cozy, for me, is the premise of the main character's job or talent in a craft. This one wins that spot for both. Sage's career choice is also her craft, she turns 'trash' into treasure. She has an eye for the possibilities where someone else sees "can't be bothered with it". I've always envied folks with the ability to see treasure-ability.
The mystery is good, the characters are vivid. I like Sage's mom who owns a shop that I'd love to meander through.
The book moves fairly quickly, I could see who would get the suspicious death tag pretty much immediately. There was a lot of yelling and vitriol flung about which made for jarring reading for a bedtime book...which had me keep reading just for a little bit more to get to quieter dialogue. [that's my story and I'm sticking to it]
This almost felt like this book wasn't the first in the series. Sage seemed to already have the trust of the town sheriff like she'd helped the department in the past.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series. I'll go take a look at other books/series Donna Clancy has written and add them to the look-for list.
I can happily recommend this book and author.

The writing was... interesting. Around page 10, I was pulled out of the story and found myself examining the sentences, thinking 'hmm.'

The descriptions felt off somehow. Like after the MC speaks with her mom, the scene transitions with a sentence like: 'Five o'clock rolled around. The van contents had been emptied into the garage, and the women were on their way to the diner.' I got the impression that the writing felt more like a DM narrating a D&D scene than a polished novel— 'the young woman knew instantly where the sign had come from and who had put it there.'

It was disorienting at first, but I adjusted to the style as I read and ended up enjoying the simple, cozy story.

Bed and Buried is the perfect title for the first book in the Trash to Treasure cozy mystery series. Sage Fletcher flips items she finds into refurbished things she can sell. She sells some of her items at her mother, Sarah's, thrift shop--This and That. Trouble starts when the obnoxious Petersons move in next door. Sage's best friend, Gabby, finds Ralph Peterson dead behind the thrift shop and things don't look good for Sarah. Sage keeps her eyes and ears open and uses her sleuthing skills to try and solve the mystery. I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the characters, the small town feel, the hint of romance, and the mystery. This promises to be a fun series.

A fun little mystery by an author I'm very familiar with from her Jam Shop Mysteries, so I knew I'd really enjoy this new set of characters--and I did! I enjoyed that Sage and her mom work together at the secondhand shop. Gabby's a fun friend for Sage, and I love that Sage went on a date with Cliff instead of hemming and hawing around about it. They seem to make a cute couple, and they've known each other a while too. This was a quick read because once I started it, I couldn't stop! Can't wait to borrow the next book when it comes out!

Cute and cuddly cozy mystery.

This series was brought to my attention recently and I thought I would give it a go. The first book is fun and fast paced, the perfect length for a long lunch read.

The characters had enough dimension to keep you wanting more, and the plot concise and interesting. This premier story left many character elements open for further development in future stories. Looking forward to the next great adventure!

Murder and Yearbooks

This is a cute new story. Sage is sassy and at first kind of hard to like but you warm up to her eventually. Her moms neighbor is found dead in storage and her mom is a suspect. Several break ins throw a wrench in things and Sage decides to help figure out who the murderer is. Love the end!!

This is a perfect book to read when snowed in or unable to get out because of the weather. It's a short read (a little over 2 hours) and quite entertaining and relaxing. One engages with the hard-working characters quickly. The mystery doesn't take up the entire story, the reader has time to get to know the 'cast'. Great start to this series.

Fun furniture flipper cozy

Ms. Clancy's tale of a bunch of friends and neighbors reusing and recycling no longer wanted items is a fun cozy mystery. A nasty neighbor is found dead on the property. Lots of people hated him, but who did him in?

An enjoyable, cozy mystery

I enjoyed the mystery and the camaraderie Sage had with her mother, Sara, and her best friend, Gabby. I had figured out it but wasn't positive until the end. I will be getting the next book.
