With their crimson skin, pitch black eyes and muscles carved from marble, these alphas claim me on the burning fields as their omega mate. I’m not who they think I am, but they’re not letting me go, no matter how hard I try to escape.
They tell me I’ll enter my heat soon. They tell me I’ll beg for their touch, their attentions, their…knots. I must resist them before it’s too late.
Finding our omega was easy while she’s desperate to escape. How can we convince her to stay when she doesn’t believe she’s ours to pleasure forever?
When I find a rare omega without her protectors, I swoop down to claim her. She says she’s human, denies she’s our fated mate and fights her biology at every turn.
We’ll hold her captive until her heat overcomes her and when she’s claimed and bonded, there will be no doubt who she belongs so.
This is the first in the Stolen Planets series. While each book contains a separate romance and HEA between a lucky human female and her alien mates, this series is best read in order.
Charmaine Ross has penned over 50 heart-pounding tales straddling everything from reverse harem sci-fi and paranormal excitement to omegaverse allure and contemporary romance charm. Known for her blend of steam, full spice and all-the-feels, Charmaine's stories are your ticket to heart-stopping romance and boundless adventure.
Living with her endlessly supportive husband who has become a sounding board for her galaxy of ideas, Charmaine shares her lively home with two adult children and a pair of predictably spoiled cats. With a wit as sharp as her imagination, Charmaine Ross fearlessly turns dreams into page-turning realities, steadfastly capturing the hearts of readers one mesmerizing story at a time.
Key tropes include: - Scent matches - Fated mates - Hurt/ comfort - Touch her and die - Enemies to lovers
This book is nasty.. Nasty that keeps you blushing, so naturally I stayed for the duration.
But, there is a very interesting and scary subplot here, about genetics. Genocide, and the dangers of having too much technology and power over others. This fear and the crimes attached to it transcends across the divide between humans and other species.
This first book is a very interesting take on this topic and it kept this story relevant and interestingly intense. There are a few (3) continuum errors in the very beginning, but the author quickly gets it together after that. If you make the stop here, understand that these books need to be read in order, because of the subplots. Each book covers a different female and her alphas, but the subplot is strongly connected.. Yes.. More answers will be coming, I hope, in book 2. So I will be returning for that story.
At the time of this review, these books in this series were on KU and $4.99 for purchase.
Would I recommend? Yes. Omegaverse & Why Choose? Yes. Spice factor? HOLY SHI-TOLEY!=4 stars Plot/Plight? 4 stars Pacing? 3 stars
Simply because of the last thing she says in the second to last chapter......
After fighting the entire book to be classified as an individual, called by her name instead of constantly being called omega, she just goes "call me omega" after dude calls her Adele.
Bro Ew....
i mean he still calls her by her name in the last chapter but i can count on just my hands how many times 3 fucking men call her by her actual name rather than her designation.
Probably the only thing i have to truly bitch about 🙄. World building is fine, character development could use some work but for a 175pg story that i got through KU, it is what it is. At least it's filling my digital bookshelf for the year 🤌. I'll continue to the next book.
Momma didn't raise no quitter.

I have to admit, the omegaverse genre just isn't my thing. That said, I still appreciate Charmaine Ross as an author and her writing style. This book didn't quite hit the mark for me, but I'll definitely be trying out some of her other works in genres that align more with my tastes. If you're into omegaverse, it might be worth a read, but this one wasn't for me.
I’m gonna ignore the repeat chapter labels and name titles. It is minor compared to the forced proximity insta-love this story is. A very Stockholm syndrome of a story, the fmc spends what little time she has with her men begging them to listen to her. But most of the story is spent with them forcing her to give in. They touch her against her will. Kiss her to calm her hysteria. Purr till she passes out, when she begs them to stop and listen to her but they respond they are doing what she needs and is denying herself. The plot was easy to figure out early on, as well as the villain and the reasoning for their evil. In the end the men listen to her but never try for forgiveness or admit fault. It’s like it never happened. In the end I am sadly not a fan of this story due to the whole omegas must submit and have no choice type of trope.
An Alien Omegaverse read with an interesting underlying plot that makes you need to know what’s happening/ going to happen and great spicy scenes!
I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one!
One thing I will say though was that the book did feel like it slowed down during the middle a little, but it wasn’t much and it didn’t turn me off reading the book!
I can't fathom how I can give it two stars, I don't know where the second one came from. And still I will explain how this got two stars.
The was okay and has big potential, if the rest, that I will mention soon enough, wasn't like it currently is, I might consider spending money on this and buying the other books. I got this for free and I am very lucky I didn't spend money on it because in my humble opinion a good potential doesn't make this good.
Okay, so the plot was kind of interesting, even though I didn't even expect that, the cancer research, the overtaking, the rest that I won't mention even with spoiler warning and all. This got potential.
BUT page 17 and he practically (one of them) saw her and went hard. They all do no matter what because she is an omega. In fact every omega will be treated this way and the whole "they are everything" and her being "oh no being an omega is not being owned but rather being strong and kind of worshipped" won't fix the weird stuff happening. And that's that omegas are practically birthing machines needed to sustain the omegas and alphas and of course you will protect them with all you got, when they are practically almost extinct but the reason for your classes to continue existing. And the rest is just seeing them as birthing machines, nothing more. I meannof course besides our main dudes who are like "oh she is so different tihi like that but she still has to stay, I mean sad that she wants to go home and is sad but... we have to survive and me likey". Well, potential yes, good? No. And I honestly skipped most of the smut at some point because she basically was out of it and so it doesn't sit right with me that at some point she randomly decides that she in fact does like it.

This book was more of a 3.5 for me personally but I rounded up to 4 stars. This was a short, easy read, with quick chapters multiple POVs. The story was interesting and I enjoyed the overall plot. It flowed and the world-building was good, especially for what I would consider a short book.
Personally I found the characters lacked in a lot of depth and with regards to them it was just heavily focused on the romance/spice part of the relationship rather than the other aspects of the characters, the FMC had a little more depth but still I felt it was lacking a little for me to be able to truely be invested in their outcome. This is quite a spicy or rather smutty book and personally a large portion of that wasn't my personal preference for spice particularly the language used in those scenes, which is another reason this was a 3.5 for me.
If you like smut, why choose, fated mates, alpha males and a story with some betrayal, experimentation and aliens then this could be for you.
I am apart of the Books and Bitches ARC Team and received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Claimed by the Barbarian Warlords (Book 1 – Stolen Planets) - Charmaine Ross
I was given an ARC copy of this story to provide an honest review.
Charmaine Ross is an Australian author who writes a lot of contemporary, science fiction and paranormal romance stories. She really enjoys spinning imaginative tales of connection between two souls no matter what worlds they come from.
Adele is young but she has worked hard all her life as a scientist trying to create a cure for cancer – anything to help ease the pain of suffering of those touched by the disease.
Her whole world is changed when a solar flare hits Earth’s surface and by some freak happenstance she is transported to a world she had no knowledge of. Its lands like scorched earth and its people have red skin and sport horns. Lost and stumbling to find safety she is quickly taken by the biggest warlord on a flying steed – where he is taking her and what he plans to do with her she dares not guess.
She soon realises this warlord and his two bonded brothers are apparently her fated alphas and she is what they call an omega, their omega. The three red-skinned warlords would do anything to keep her safe, happy and well satisfied. They are so intent on having Adele and claiming her that it scares her – but deep down she knows this is right and what she truly wants.
But this is not all they must contend with – the Uglix supposed allies of her warlord alpas – are secretly killing them and breeding them out. The only one able to stop them is Adele – so now she must contend with saving an alien race she knows nothing about while coming to terms with who and what she really is.
“Claimed by the Barbarian Warlords” is a science fiction romance that I found to be surprisingly enjoyable. It’s short but well-paced with strong world building. I love the way Adele is written, sometimes I find the female lead in a romance story can be weak and too easily lead but Adele is strong and stands her ground and doesn’t easily give in to the whims of the male that is seeking her purely because he says so. It was refreshing to read a female character written like this and even more refreshing to see the males respect her and her decision. I really like the ending so it will be interesting so see how the author lets things play out in the second book.
My first sci-fi romance read and I actually enjoyed it! I’m huge on omegaverse so I loved the omegaverse-related dynamics.
Some things to note: - While yes, the villains of the story were quite predictable from pretty much the moment you meet them, it still turned out great. There were some things that were kind of left unanswered but not tragically so I guess it’s not too big of a deal. - With it being a novella/really short standalone, it’s actually quite detailed. But my biggest complaint is that it ends in a HFN. Usually with novellas, this happens so I didn’t dock a star because of this. - It’s honestly not as spicy as the other reviews made it seem. I would rate it a 2-2.5 in spice. Her heat was not as detailed as it could have been which was the reason for the star removal. The majority of the book talks about her heat so it was disappointing how short it was. - Another reason for the star deduction would be the FMC. I tried to like her and understand where she was coming from, but as a scientist I’d figured her character would be more mature. I understand her need for wanting to finish her research but the constant “I’m not an omega” but also scientifically understands that she is in fact an omega was like nails on a chalkboard to me. - The MMC’s were my favorite. Their absolute devotion to Adele and even though their nature said otherwise, they still heard her out and tried their best to be what SHE wanted and not what they actually needed. Loved them.
Will definitely read more from this author in the near future. 😍

I think this was a very interesting and different take on how a person may end up on a different planet. During a serious solar flare, scientist Adele is working in the lab, turning off electronics for safety, and ends up being surrounded by red when the solar flare hits. She's transported to the middle of a burning field, and chased by what look like demons. Honestly, the description of them would also make me think of demons, so that's fair. The world she lands on has been strife with disease, killing off the species' omegas so they haven't been able to reproduce. It's not mentioned how long their lifespan is, but I'm assuming it's longer than humans. Anyways, turns out that in this new environment, Adele is an omega. And she's going to end up with not one, not two, but THREE alphas. Hot damn. Stef, Rhif, and Jet are all hot and I love that they are each a little different in their reaction/interactions with Adele. I'm intrigued by how her body innately seems to recognize what she is in the new environment and sends her into the heat. The three men are also very hot and I love how they're protective of Adele. I'm glad that they do eventually start listening to her too, because she does have a name and story, just like they do. The story was a bit rushed, but nothing too crazy since it was definitely hormone/pheromone driven. The way it unfolded made sense even if it did happen quickly. I kind of wish we would have had a chance to see Adele helping more in the lab on the planet and doing some healing things, but it was a great book. 3/5 spice scale 4/5 book scale

Oh baby! This book was recommended to me in one of my book clubs and can I say "Wooooweeee!" Good choice! Charmaine Ross is a new author for me, this my first book by her and I'm a fan! Sign me up! If they put out a special edition of the Stolen Planet series I would be first in line!!! Take my money!!! This had everything, a sassy FMC (we love em sassy!). Hot, lusty, hunky, red, alien MMC's (yes more then 1) who are total warriors but with hearts that melt and goo for our FMC. They live for her, the fight for her, they knot for her, because she is their Omega. And let's be honest...the mighty weapons they carry around are real pleasers too! 😂 This book is the first in the series and follows our heroine, Adela, a human scientist who finds herself transported to an alien planet and kidnapped by horned demon looking barbarians. They say that she is theirs, that she is their Omega and that they are her mates. She has zero idea what is going on, and wants nothing more then to go home. This is a book about two species trying to find common ground, while holding on to who and what they are. Compromises need to be made before it's too late, because there is an enemy lurking nearby, closer than anyone can imagine, and they want nothing more than total submission and annihilation of the whole planet!! 5 starts from me! I loved this book and will be hereafter reading the entire series!!!
The science, tech, and other world-building elements are great. I have no issues with the whole bond brother thing. But I feel like too much emphasis was placed on… shall we say, nesting needs, and not enough on the emotional needs of Adele or her men.
Which honestly makes sense for a race led by warlords who were orphaned as very young boys. They don’t remember enough about their Omega mothers, nor has their society had a stable, healthy emotional social structure for six hundred years. I love that Adele finally reached their minds, got them to LISTEN instead of presuming they knew what she needed better than she did.
*** semi-spoilers below ***
But even though they started listening and trying to understand her - beyond her existence as the future of their planet - she suddenly gives up on a serious part of her identity. She even goes so far as to think of herself as Omega and not Adele. As if she’s been assimilated into the Borg or something. I think more could have been done to get her to accept herself instead as Adele, the human-born Omega. A true blend of her old and new selves.
I also would’ve preferred that the bad guys weren’t so obvious. The revelation wasn’t a shock to anyone but the Alpha characters. It’s a wonder they didn’t ever suspect anything. I haven’t decided if I’ll continue the series, mostly for fear of too much repetition. We shall see.
Claimed by the Barbarian Warlords is a look into a very unusual world created by Charmaine Ross. Adela, a human biomedical scientist, suddenly finds herself transferred to a different planet during a predicted sun flare. She finds herself in what appears to be a hot burnt volcanic landscape. Little does she know that she is now part of a world where Alphas rule and live to claim an omega. Three Alpha Warlords capture/rescue Adela from a large group of alphas that are acting very aggressively and chasing her through plants that cut her as she runs from the terrifying alphas chasing her. Adela fights to keep her sense of self as she finds herself responding as an omega to the three Alphas who wish to claim and protect her. The advisor to their Kingdom scares Adela. There is something about him that she doesn’t trust. The Omegas and Alphas have been dying off slowly over the last 600 years to something known only as The Death. Can Adela get her Alphas to listen to her? Can she help them save their people? Can she accept that she may never be able or may not want to return to Earth? This story is an excellent start to the Stolen Planet series!
Well. It’s exactly what you would expect from an alien omegaverse. I love that she fought her omega nature and wanted to get home. But I hated that at like 85% she just accepted it. Like, weren’t you curing cancer back home? You don’t care about that anymore? So That was annoying.
Rhifgraugdk. Leather smell. Pitch black hair. Stefnan. Second. Cedar smell. Electric Blue hair. Jaetvard. Sandalwood scent. Silver white hair. Of course, the book cover didn’t reflect those descriptions but whatever.
Alien romance. Cancer researcher PHD student FMC. Orphan FMC. Omega. “Amadonian” warlord MMCs. MMMF. Horns/tails/fangs with crimson skin and totally black eyes. Non con. She tries to get home. She fights omega nature. Push and pull. Heats. Nesting. Claiming. Knotting. Breeding. Fated mates. Soul binding. Feeling each others emotions. No pregnancy. No epilogue.
Heavy set up to book 2. I’m meh on going for the next one.

I really enjoyed this read! Fast-paced and an absolutely necessary escape for me right now. Much like the FMC, I was zapped out of my droll existence on Earth, and transported to an other-worldly planet. I found myself unable to resist the pull of the 3 barbarian warlords who are immediately entranced by our FMC.
I liked the world building a lot. Though we didn't see much outside one one particular region on this new-to-me planet, I think we can expect to explore further in the following books.
RH, possessive alphas, alien barbarians, knotty fun, a couple of tropes that would get my review flagged if described, and best of all: somehow FMC was both unwilling captive and gave consent. The author navigated these tropes with a high level of skill to remove the problematic elements that often arise. I loved it!
Super fun start to the series! This is my first Charmaine Ross read, but definitely won't be my last!
It’s really a 3.5 star for me but I left 4 stars because I think the whole world could be interesting if better flushed out.
This was a quick, very spicy, and fun read. I found the story interesting and it held my interest to the end. I liked the plot, action, and romance. Plus, SPICE!
My favorite MMC was Jet and I think that’s because he was the most affectionate with Adele. I also really like the multiple point of views for the story.
I was hoping that some of Adele’s background as a scientist and cancer researcher would have been explored further. The ending seemed a bit rushed. I also would have liked the MMCs to have more of a backstory than it did. I really hope the author will continue to further explore the world in the overall story arc. It seems like an interesting planet so far.
If you’re not a fan of dubious/ non consent, this may be triggering for you. Definite spoilers in my review.
By the end of the story (literally last few pages) FMC says she’s happy where she is but through the majority of the story she’s fighting to get away and is being forced by her new instincts to do things she keeps saying she wants no part in. She keeps talking about her loss of autonomy and the male leads even talk about how they’ll force her so she has no choice. They’re good to her and she’s happy in the end but, to me, it feels like it’s too little in the way of consent. That being said, the story is leading into a good direction. This feels like the book that is leading into the actual action, and I will be reading more of the series.
I do not have the memory of a fish I am not Dory! I do not need to be constantly reminded of certain aspects of the story .. I got it the first time! Good story great character development. World building etc. but will I get to read any of the following books .. no ! Because they are not on kindle unlimited. I got this book a a newsletter freebie. But this is basically another bait and switch tactic a lit of authors use . Like drug dealers the first taste is free to pay .. a lot. For every single one after that! I really want to read next book but. It too much! $ my KU subscription is all I can $ THIS IS THE REASONS FOR REMOVING OF 2 STARS Sorry not sorry KU stop cheating readers
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I can guarantee you it won’t be the last. This is book one of an ongoing series with two additional books finished and one due to come out in November 2024. This book can stand alone however, all of these books enter twine to continue with an ongoing story. And the story you three alphas and one omega. The omega is transported from earth landing on a new planet where are three alpha at claims she is their Omega. This begins the unwinding of details that runs deeper than this story alone. I’m not gonna give you any more than that. You’ll have to read it to find out more. What is will tell you is: I am definitely hooked and I’m going to immediately purchase the next book!
