- this book had some amazing tropes like one bed trope, forced proximity, summer setting, camp rock vibes, grovelling, and dual POV
- if you like The Do-Over by Lynn Painter and You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle I think you’ll like this!

- I went into this book with such high expectations because I’m absolutely obsessed with her books and though I didn’t like it quite as much as I was expecting I still really enjoyed it!
- I didn’t connect as much to the characters as much as I did in her other books but I still love Jamie and Emma to death
- her fictional men are the reason my standards are so high. Like Jamie was so sweet, and he also reminded me of Elliot Petropoulos which is a huge plus
- to be honest I was very afraid at the start I wouldn’t like this book as I found it a little hard to get into but as the book progressed I got more invested
- I always live for the surprise cameos 👀👀
- the perfect example of grovelling from Mr. Jamie
- I loved how their relationship evolved throughout the book and I absolutely inhaled the last 100 pages
- I definitely feel like this book is targeted towards a different demographic than her other books, it’s music based, so I feel like if you play an instrument or are a band kid you would LOVE this!
- this book had such a cool concept which I feel like wasn’t explored as much as it could have been at the start but I still ate it up anyway
- all in all I loved this book, which doesn’t shock me at all considering how much I love NS Perkins books and I would totally recommend it!

☁️☁️ TIME-TRAVEL ROMANCE AT SUMMER CAMP!☁️☁️
N.S. Perkins has written one of the best summer-y romances. You really do need to read it this summer, it's perfect for the season and it has all the best aspect that will remind you of the summer days. It's set in summer camp, like Camp Rock, where lots of artistic geniuses come to enjoy the summer, be with friends, and practice their talent. In this case, we have Emma and Jamie who are pianists and a couple. But before they arrive, Emma tells Jamie she isn't happy anymore and maybe wants to breakup. This kickstarts everything!
When they get to camp, the two of them start to realize that something is definitely happening: they have gone back in time, ONE YEAR. They don't know why or what's happening but they have to find the way to return to their time before the auditions at the end of the summer. And maybe, in between, they can find the way back to each other as well.

You will ADORE this book. It has similar vibes and obviously the relationship in crisis trope. NS Perkins writing is both a punch to the heart and a soft pat on your head. You know you will be safe and taken care of, but it's going to be a little bit painful on the way. This book has so much HOPE though. You'll get dual POV, so you will know what either Emma and Jamie are thinking about. You'll see Jamie being so shocked about what Emma tells him, but he's dedicated to make her fall in love yet again with him. He knows she's the one for him, that they're soulmates, so he's not going to walk away easily. !!! SOULMATES TROPE CONFIRMED.
The way that they are each other's first in everything??? They have never been with anyone else but each other and they're so IN LOOOOVE. I'm in love with their love. They're so cute and I was always rooting for them to find the way back to that love.

N.S. Perkins does it again, people! Not a single bad track from her. Each book I fall even more in love her writing, and emotional yet light tone we always find in her stories. Our Final Love Song delivers that and so much more.
Emma and Jamie are both caring, driven and dealing with their own struggles as individuals and together. Noémie definitly knows what she's doing when she's writing her main characters, you can't help but feel for them in an instant and forget for a bit that it's all fictional. I quickly fell in love with Emma and Jamie, both as their own characters and as a couple. Reading their journey through everything they had to deal with and confront was so heartfelt, it made me so emotional several times. Jamie is also everything a book boyfriend should be. Cinnamon roll male characters you'll always be loved by me.
Regarding the time travelling part: I was excited because it's not something I tend to read about, and I trust Noémie completely, so I'd know it'd be okay. And it was! It added another layer to the story that I truly appreciated, and that character presence made all the difference. Once again, secondary characters in N.S. Perkins' books being such a valuable key to the plot, and I love it.
Now, why didn't I rate it 5 stars, then? I don't have a detailed explanation to this. I literally don't have anything bad to say about it; I just didn't grow that attached to Emma and Jamie as it happened to all the former couples. I REALLY loved and cared for them, but I didn't feel that level of "bond" I did with all the other three.

if i had to use one word to describe this book, it’d be fun.
i’ve never read anything with time travel, let alone a romance, so i wasn’t really sure what to expect going in (honestly i only picked this up because of the cover). but this did not disappoint. at all.
the setting very much gave camp rock and i was here for it the entire time. the side characters (jesy, iréne, etc) were thoroughly entertaining and had depth to them despite being minor.
i adored emma and jamie. even though their miscommunication was the root of all their problems, and if you know me you know i hate that, i could appreciate the role it played in their story. also the concept of the universe saving soulmates? you can’t tell me that’s not perfect.
the writing was also amazing. it was descriptive but not dense, had tons of dialogue, and was overall just really easy to read. i’ve never read ns perkins before but i definitely have to go through her backlist now!
so if you’re looking for the perfect summer read, look no further. i had the best time reading this + would recommend to literally anyone ◡̈

This book had so many elements of exactly what I love in a romance novel: summer romance, characters who have a lot of history, second chances, and flawed characters that you just can't help but love. There's even a bit of magical realism here. And I loved it so much.
From the jump, this really pulled at my heartstrings because I think the situation that Emma and Jamie were in was very relatable to so many people. And I think that's what makes this book so amazing, is that it hits so hard in so many places because of the relatability. I relate so hard to Jamie's drive and ambition, and having that drive and ambition ultimately blind you to the other things in life. I relate to Emma's people pleasing tendencies and I admire her finally choosing to live her life for herself. And I love the relatability of the fact that Emma and Jamie's breakup didn't really have anything to do with them not loving each other enough, and it was about them both learning how to love each other in all the right ways. It was an amazing lesson in maybe the things in life happening for a reason and learning what you can from the hardships, which I feel was a main point that at least I took as the book progressed.

NS Perkins is one of my absolute favourite authors and this was such a lovely read!
I love the second chance romance which was at times both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
The Groundhog day element was super cool and made the book unique - however, I would’ve liked if it was expanded a bit more on, as I was left with a few questions about how it all worked. Though I get it’s hard to do with such a relatively short book.
Overall, I highly recommend this book for a quick yet impactful read!

Emma and Jamie have been in a five year relationship since they were teens, and have both gone to the same musicians summer retreat together.
However, over the past year, Emma has noticed that Jamie hasn’t been prioritizing her and their relationship over his aspiring career as a pianist, and it’s really taking a toll on her.
She wants to make it through the 8 weeks at the summer retreat before breaking up with him so that the forced proximity doesn’t make things more awkward, but ends up ending things between them on the car ride there.
The chemistry between Emma and Jamie was not believable whatsoever and their interactions did not have me rooting for them to reconcile their relationship. I wanted to connect with them so badly, but I just wasn’t feeling it.
The time travel element of this book did not make a lot of sense at all and I think the logic of it should have been thought through a bit more.
As soon as Emma and Jamie enter the camp grounds, they’ve been transported back to the summer a year prior. There’s no initial indicators that anything has physically happened until they start interacting with other people and realize the familiarities.
What didn’t make sense to me was the fact that Emma and Jamie were able to receive phone calls from their family from the future timeline, while their physical bodies were in the past. Why not just have it so that all interactions from the future were sent to their phone but with a busy signal instead? It would make more sense given the invisible force field barrier they both found that surrounded the camp grounds.
I also don’t understand how if they were one year in the past, how in the hell was their internet still able to give search results as if they were in the present/future?
These technological elements didn’t give for much continuity.
Even with the time travel and having this opportunity for redemption, Jamie still ended up reverting to old habits of putting practicing piano before anything and anyone else, and it was only revealed in the resolution that future Jamie made much of a change. Again, I think a lot of the issues I had stemmed from the muddled timelines and how their memories weren’t caught up.
I was really excited going into this knowing the two main characters were pianists since I’m a musician, but I wanted to feel more passion radiating through and more discussion on how Emma was rediscovering her love for playing piano. That one scene incorporating Jamie’s sister and the volunteer work was amazing but I wanted more of that.
And the “tell me we’re always going to resolve our issues like this” after they had what Jamie called “magic sex” rubbed me the wrong way because the high of serotonin that sex gives shouldn’t outweigh trying to have healthy communication.
Additionally, the girlfriend of Emma’s roommate who wasn’t developed further than just being the mean one to give her dirty looks didn’t sit right with me.

I loved this book so much.
The time travel aspect was so different from what I'm used to but I honestly really liked it! Jamie is one of the sweetest male main characters and I related to him so much, just the way he processes his emotions and such is so on point for how I am. Noémie writes such incredibly real and relatable characters, they feel less fictional in a way. Her books always make me cry(in the best way) but this one had me laughing so hard with the banter also! I love a woman that knows she deserves more and demands it and that was Emma.

as like all of this woman’s other books, i’m obsessed. emma and jamie were an amazing couple to add to the already stacked list of couples that have come from this woman’s brain!! i love them dearly and loved watching them fall back into love with eachother, even though they never really fell out of it. emma was an excellently crafted character, as someone who fell out of love with an activity that i spent my whole life doing, i really resonated with her. perkins perfectly described the feelings you go through, i was highlighting like crazy. jamie was so sweet. sometimes you get sick of reading about asshole hero’s and the men in these books age just top tier!! seeing the little addy appearance was amazing and so unexpected, i had to read it like six times to make sure i wasn’t making it up!! i loved the musical summer camp setting, it was so unique and made for some great scenes!!
as someone who doesn’t really like fantastical realism in books i was not a fan of the whole time travel aspect of this book. it wasn’t written badly or anything it was just a more personal gripe. i like normal, explainable, circumstances in my books and obviously time travel isn’t one of those. if you like that stuff this book should be a total five stars for you, i mean there’s nothing else to dislike.
n.s. perkins if you’re reading this, PLEASE give us a little novella about irene and alessandro meeting. i was absolutely obsessed with them and i want to see their meetcute !!!

This was so cute; it definitely reminded me of summer camp mixed with every summer after. Jamie was wonderful and a total sweetheart, and Emma was very relatable. In this story, I absolutely loved Jamie and Emma. I felt like a lot of their issues were very genuine, and I could tell how much they clearly loved each other. Life had changed around them, as well as their relationship; they were having growing pains and issues communicating what they both needed and wanted from each other. However, the music and the relationship had some beautiful moments within this story, and I really loved the premises of this book. I just struggled with some aspects of this story and felt like things were rushed. Other than that, I thought the epilogue was everything, and I think a lot of people will really love reading this one over the summer.

This book had some amazing tropes that I personally love including one bed trope,forced proximity, summer setting groveling,dual POV, camp rock vibes,second chance romance,and time travel. I have never read a book with a concept like this, and I didn’t know if I would like it or not but I ended up enjoying it a lot. I connected with the characters,and I love them so much. N.S Perkins never fails to write the most lovable characters ever. The fictional men she writes are the reason my standards are so high. No man will ever compare to the ones she writes. I did find it a little hard to get into the book in the beginning but as soon as I started reading it, I got really invested and connected with the characters. Emma and Jamie were such relatable characters and I loved them so much. The premise of this book was so cool and unique. I loved how N.S Perkins pulled it off. The time travel element really added to the story and I absolutely ate it up. It added such a interesting concept to the story. N.S Perkins definitely knows what’s she doing writing these caring main characters. They both had struggles to deal with and they really added to the overall story. Reading their journey was so heartfelt and I loved every moment of it. Overall this book is amazing and I will definitely recommend it to everyone. Ho adorato questa storia!
La maggior parte dei romance punta l'attenzione sugli alti e bassi che portano una coppia a consolidare la relazione e lì chiudono i battenti, come se tutto il resto non contasse nulla. Una cosa che amo approfondire nei miei romanzi è proprio il "dopo", come la coppia affronta il futuro, le incertezze, le paure, la vita.
Emma e Jamie sono stati toccati da un grande amore, ma quelli che erano i loro progetti da ragazzi con il tempo sono cambiati. O, meglio, Emma si è resa conto di non essere più la ragazza di cui Jamie si è innamorato e questo li sta dividendo. Un evento straordinario li costringerà a fare i conti con ciò che sta accadendo: un balzo nel passato di un anno.
Di questo romanzo ho amato prima di tutto la scrittura, non si perde in grosse spiegazioni né strani dettagli mistici che possono spiegare questo evento straordinario. La struttura della storia è ben fatta perché tiene conto delle implicazioni di questo salto temporale. Poi ho amato i personaggi e come si sono approcciati l'uno all'altra, tentando di recuperare quel grande amore che non li ha mai abbandonati. L'epilogo è stato un po' frettoloso, ma in realtà è stata una delle poche volte in cui il classico ragguaglio del futuro non mi è dispiaciuto, in quanto durante la lettura ho potuto godere del rapporto fra i protagonisti e dei loro sentimenti puri.
Mi piacerebbe leggere altro di questa autrice, ma purtroppo non è stato tradotto ancora nulla oltre a questo romanzo. Un altro motivo per iniziare a leggere in inglese.

I loved the journey of Emma and Jamie. It has a different element that I haven’t read it before. And I liked the purpose of that element. How it helps two people to think about what went wrong in their relationship and act on it to make each other happy.

A beautiful second-chance romance that ties in music in a natural and meaningful way!!
I love N.S. Perkins writing so much. How she describes love, characters, and personal struggles feels so real and raw. The time travel aspect was incredibly well done. Everything made sense, stayed consistent, and tied together beautifully.
I really liked the main characters in this one. At first I was hesitant with Jaimie, but as I learned more about him, I grew to love him so much. Emma is one of my favorite FMCs ever! I am not a child of famous pianists, but I struggle with feeling like a disappointment to family allll the time, so I related to her a lot.
The summer camp setting was fun and allowed for many sweet, cute, and tension-filled moments between the characters (including a one-tent scene!).
I would've liked to see a bit more exploration on certain scenes, but overall another incredible read from this author!

this was possibly the sweetest book i’ve ever read. while there was a lot about music, which i wasn’t necessarily too interested in, the rest of the story was so engaging and interesting that it made up for it. i forgot how much i love childhood friends/second chance romances. it was just so sweet to see jamie try to win emma back and i loved the side characters too (especially irene and alessandro) this was my first ns perkins book but it won’t be my last❤️ i read this book in basically one sitting (only stopping to eat dinner) and i would definitely recommend it!

How this amazing, fabulous woman always has me breaking down crying like a little baby, I will never understand.
I recently noticed that our fabulous author’s bio went from “medical student” to “resident physician,” SO Dr. Perkins, thank you for this copy - I couldn’t have loved a book more. I can’t wait for it to come out so I can buy a physical copy for my shelves.
This story starts out with a couple, Emma and Jamie, who are having relationship troubles. My stomach drops when Jamie forgets their anniversary and I want to cry for Emma when she explains how’s she is feeling. Reading about another female who says she can’t even remember the last time her boyfriend called her pretty breaks my heart. Crying, screaming, throwing up. That always breaks me.
Getting Jamie’s perspective really reminded me that there really is two sides to every story. I was worried we were about to deal with a jerk of a mmc and I was going to have to hate him through the whole book, but thank goodness that was not the case. Jamie is a sweetheart and doesn’t even fully realize his own actions - not that that’s an excuse. But that’s what this book is - a second chance at fixing a relationship.
Emma and Jamie travel back to the previous summer where most everything went wrong and in the process they get closer to a couple they didn’t know quite as well previously. Irene and her husband truly stole the show for me - pun intended. I would read a book just on how they got together.
There’s a lot of complex moving pieces to this book and I’m rather impressed by how well it’s done. There’s no gaps and it’s a unique take with the time travel. Honestly the only thing to me was that Emma and Jamie take the time travel realization TOO well for me. I was shook. I would’ve been freaking out asking people questions trying to figure out if I was crazy or not! Lol. But maybe that’s just me. I don’t handle anything well soooo…
Absolutely devoured this book. You gotta read it!!!!
