As a human princess I have always known that one day I would have to marry for political reasons, not love. But when I meet my intended during a battle and he stops me from running the leader of our archenemies though, the cards for a happy marriage are not decked in his favor. No matter how good looking or charming he is. Especially not because of how good looking and charming he is. The last thing I can afford is falling in love with my new husband.
Garwayn: The last thing I expected was to find my querilly in my new, human mate. But once I recognize her, there is no stopping me from making her understand that she belongs to me. Neither her obstinacy nor her thickheadedness will stand in my way.
Promised to the Vissigroth is the second book in The Vissigroths of Leander series and a compelling read.
People from Earth were settled across 14 worlds, where they are thought of as lesser until that special someone became the focus of the Vissigroths. Promised to a Vissgroth by her father, she determines to make it work after he came to her rescue. To their astonishment, the Vissgroths treat them with reverence, recognizing them as their destined partners and confidantes. These formidable alpha warriors' ultimate goal is to rally diverse beings to stand against the forces of evil and engage in a tireless struggle for freedom and justice.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am eager to delve into the sequels to see how the saga unfolds for these courageous women from Earth.
"Don't ever underestimate the power of a vissigroth, Princess."
Garwayn reluctantly agreed to marriage as part of a business transaction, but he quickly realizes this woman isn't just more than he bargained for, she may be the perfect mate for a Vissigroth.
Brynn always knew her father would marry her off for the good of their people, but this is nothing like what she imagined, and her wedding day is turning out to be a mess, every way she looks at it.
This done in one kindle unlimited book is a great story about an independent woman who has always relied on herself who discovers the magic of having someone reliable come in to her life. It's one thing to be fiercely independent because no one has your back, it's entirely different to have the strength to be fiercely independent but the security of knowing someone equally strong will always have your back... and still respect you.
Wow this book was amazing and the main characters had me cheering for them and whats not to love when two people from different backgrounds marry for political reasons but realize they are perfect for each other. Brynn is a human Princess that has always known that she would marry for politics and not love and now she is destined to marry Vissigroth Garwayn of Djynah and she hopes she can go through with it. Vissigroth Garwayn is on his way to the Death Mountains with his warriors to claim his new bride but when they get there she is a battle with Archenemics while the her father the King and his entourage are hiding while she fights them off and just before she goes for the kill he stops her and he admires her strength and skills and knows she is perfect for him and is his Querilly and now after they are married he see’s her family treating the servants badly and she is mad as hell and just wants to help them out and this is yet another spectacular reason that his new wife is special. How does it all work out and can they rule like they both feel is in the best interests of their people and with the hot and steamy connection can they have a future together or not.

Brynn is a human princess and it has always been known that she will be married off to gain a strategic advantage and not for love. She is a trained warrior and military leader for her people during the fighting. When Garwayn, her mate, meets her on the battlefield, he stopped her from killing the enemy leader with her sword and she was not at all pleased with his actions. She doesn’t want to be distracted by falling in love with her new husband. And he already says he will never understand humans after he saw all of the royalty, her father King Phillip included, hiding away like cowards during the battle while his daughter led the warriors into battle!
As they married, his vows were to honor and protect her, while hers were to honor and OBEY him. As he expected, she took some time to think about that, and when she answered at last, “I do”, he whispered that he would hold her to that. The raucous, drunken feast that followed made Garwayn cringe as the human nobles indulged in food and drinks, never noticing the exhausted servants who were needed elsewhere. Brynn made it obvious that she would rather be outside cleaning up the mess from the attack instead of feasting inside while other did all the work. It gave him hope that she would be a good match for him. And her kind way of interacting with the servers pleased him. It wouldn’t take long for him to develop respect to her as he observes her honor, strength, compassion, and skills.
I loved the blending of humor in the interactions of the characters. I was also proud of the impression Brynn made on Garwayn who had only seen the bad traits of humans until she became part of his life. Both of them, strong and honorable, are willing to make sacrifices for their people. They are what all good leaders should be, and that becomes especially obvious in comparison to the lazy, selfish actions of her father and family.
A really enjoyable book, despite there not being a lot of a distinct alien culture developed. There are little things that show that it does differ slightly from the culture we saw in the first book, which is nice because one would expect different geographies to have different cultures, so certainly different planets, regardless of political unity, would have some differences.
Brynn is not the type of vissy Garwayn imagines, but she's exactly the type of vissy this planet needs. She's not just more into the more "masculine" activities of fighting, but is also very hands-on. She has always taken an active and intimate role in the well-being of the human settlement. She plans on continuing to do so after becoming vissy. But Garwayn is rather hands-off with her during the day - but only during the day - and their lack of emotional bond leaves her to take matters into her own hands when things go awry.

These stories are basically told in the same manner as a feudal society. There are 14 planets each one with a Vissigroth who is a ruler of sorts. He is the person in charge of everything. Over the 14 Vissigroths is a supreme ruler who has become tyrannical. He doesn’t like humans intermarrying the Vissigroths and in the first book went to great lengths to get rid of the daughter from one of these couples. These books remind me of stories of politics of noblemen and so on going to court doing sneaky things to get ahead of all others for power. I’m excited to read the next book to see how this story shapes up. For all you romantics, these will satisfy you. The women are brave and the males are honorable, and the HEA is so fun to read.
For their races, they know they must marry/ mate. But to meet during a battle with the enemy was not ideal , especially when was fighting in her wedding dress. When Garwayn hauled Brynn up on his horse, she head butted him and broke his nose. So, she was not running in fear? No, she was furious because he stopped her from killing an enemy. And this slow burn story gets better and better. Bella weaves danger, angst, humor, side stories, plot twists and steam into a wonderful story. Looking forward to more soon.
Another great story by this author. Grab a towel, you might need it for this one. Tension will have you on the edge of your seat as this Vissigroth waits impatiently for his wedding night. Poor Garwayn didn't know what he was in for when he allowed the human king to seal their bargain with his promise to mate the human princess. Bryn, however, thought she knew exactly what she was in for: marriage to an arrogant Vissigroth. Lucky for the both of them, they get much more than what they bargained for.
Brynn is a princess, and as the title of the book suggests, promised to a Vissigroth to unify leanders and humans within the fourteen planets.
The story starts with Garwyn riding up in the middle of an attempted siege, and his first glimpse of Brynn is her running across the field in a dress and combat boots defending her city.
The adventure begins.
Garwyn doesn't know what to do with headstrong Brynn who has been driving things for a long time, but he certainly enjoys the challenge.
This book was fun, with a visit to the lava lakes again. I LOVE this.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was a political marriage that becomes a love match. They meet during a battle and Garwayn is impressed by Brynn's courage and abilities. I liked how caring Garwayn was on their true wedding night. I liked how their love developed between them and how they each stand up for their principles and the welfare of their people.
I have read the first 2 books and can not wait to read the next one. It is a great love story !! A little mystery great plots. You know how this going to end but getting there is delightful!! I will be reading this series I enjoy the back and forth of the books to see who else the writer decides to match up and from what book !!
The fact that Garwayn only agreed to the marriage for a business transaction but then it turns into that fact that Brynn is the perfect mate for a Vissigroth!! 😍
I loved these two and I was so sad this one ended!!! But can't wait to read more about this world!!
The honourable, arrogant Vissigroth was heading to marry the human princess when he was accosted by a human hellion. Brynn was smaller but quick and her future husband was ensorcelled.
I'm really digging this universe and the Vissigroths and how it is all inter-connected. The author creates bad guys that you really get to dislike, and the steam is nice and 🔥. I can't wait to read the next one!.

Brynn is to marry a Vissigroth for financial gain setup by her father. Garwayn is the Vissigroth and all he wants is the gain. But the battle has already begun and proves to be intriguing. Enjoy
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were amazing and entertaining. The storyline kept me turning the pages. That first meeting on the battle field....

I really like Brynn!!! She's a kick ass female. It's a good second book. Kept me wanting more. Thankfully I don't have a long time to wait. The 3rd book is out next week and the 4th in a month!!!
This is a great book. I love the ways the characters interact and grow with one another. The characters are amazingly complex and vivid. The overall plot is fun and full of twists. The spice is good. The world building is amazing. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Vissigroths of Leander series just keeps getting better and better! Garwayn and Brynn’s romance has hot chemistry, gritty action and a super bad*ss warrior heroine. Can’t wait for the next.
I really like this series so much running and Garwayn romance spice was so good with the instant lust for both of them. So excited to read more of this series.
Garwayn supports Brynn wonderfully! She is uniquely powerful and he doesn't try to supppress that. He loves the whole her. It is great! And now that they have met Thalia and Darryck I anticipate more spicy adventures!
Garwayn is smarting from the death of his uncle. He believes that it was not a fair fight and that there is now a blood feud of sorts between himself and the male who killed him, Darryck, who so doing became the Vissigroth of the Icelands. All this and more he is dealing with as he is now on his way to to claim his bride, a human one at that, one that he does not want. He knows it is a political merging yet he rebels against having a human vissy. He believes them all to be weak, vapid and nigh on useless. That is until he meets Brynn, his betrothed and suddenly all bets are off and he is the one reeling. Brynn knew she was being used as a pawn by her father but as long as she can look after her people that is all she cares about. She had not quite anticipated the intensity of Garwayn nor that he would be so understanding of her ways. He sees more than anyone ever has and his also looks belie his shrewdness. He clearly cares for his people so maybe he is not the evil she thought him to be. Maybe there is a chance for something more? I have loved this book so much. I can't decide which couple is my favourite so I'm going with both. I can only hope that the next one will bring about the same dilema (which I am sure it will). These are fantastic and someone better get their comeuppance at the end of all this, I'm just saying!
Garwayn, Vissigroth of Djyngh, has no interest in mating anyone, much less Princess Brynn, a feeble human female. But when Brynn's father makes him an offer he can't refuse, Garwayn decides to make the best of things and fulfill his duty to beget an heir and, in the bargain, make an advantageous deal for a precious mineral that will help him pay for costly armaments to keep his planet safe. Once his marital obligations are fulfilled, Garwayn naturally assumes he can resume his normal life as a warrior whose busy schedule will prevent him from having much contact with his unwanted mate. What could go wrong? But Brynn is the opposite of feeble. She's a warrior in her own right, a savvy administrator, and willing to sacrifice her own happiness to wed a complete stranger who can provide her people with a brighter future than her self-serving father, lazy brothers, and greedy nobility can offer them. The high-spirited couple butt heads immediately, although their mutual attraction is fierce. If they can take the time to get acquainted and work together, they have the charisma and drive to bring new prosperity to all the people of Djyngh. I loved the two strong-willed main characters and enjoyed watching them build a real relationship based on mutual respect and appreciation for each other's strengths. Exciting story, sizzling romance, and good both as a standalone book and part of a larger story arc. I'm looking forward to the next installment and another intriguing couple.
