Macadamia Fudge Murder is the second book in a captivating cozy mystery series. If you like your murders with a small-town feel and life-long friendships, an intriguing murder, and an ending you didn’t see coming, then you’ll love Laura Pauling’s brand-new cozy mysteries.
Laura writes about spies, murder, and mystery. She’s the author of the exciting Circle of Spies Series, the Prom Impossible Series, and the Heist time travel mystery series. She’s a former elementary teacher and currently lives in New England. After spending time reading books to her kids and loving a good plot turn, she put her fingers to the keyboard. Don’t ask her about the unfinished quilts and scrapbooks. Stories are way more exciting.
She writes to entertain and experience a great story…and to be able to work in her jammies and slippers.
The Holly Hart Cozy Mystery Series releases starting in May 2015!
This story was good; however, to me the story has its up and downs. The cast of characters is okay. This is book two, and I’m still not sure I’d like being friends with any of them. The mystery is okay, and the author does use some ideas in her plot that I haven’t seen much, or at all, in other cozies. The series has potential, but I’m going to take a break from it now.
I wasn't sure if I liked Belle much as a character at first, but she's definitely growing on me and growing as a character. It really bothered her a lot when a favorite customer was killed and being sure the woman was poisoned, Belle couldn't let it go without sleuthing. The guy who was the customer's PA at her job was a big help especially with flushing out the perp at the end.
Now that she's got a feathered friend to take care of, maybe Belle's thoughts about sticking around might actually stick around! She definitely seems committed to the coffee shop and working with Lucas's daughter Lexie. And the PA revealed the interesting tidbit that customer Madeleine and Aunt Eliza were friends. I've already borrowed the next book on KU!
Did not finish. I'm so tired of the plot device of the female lead character doing whatever she can (legal or not) to solve the murder - thereby endangering herself and other people.

There’s another murder in the town of Everly and this one takes place in the Beanery, a coffee shop owned by Belle Baron. The woman who is murdered is poisoned with a piece of macadamia fudge.
Her name is Madeline Josephine Calypso and it turns out that she had been a good friend of Belle’s late aunt who left her the Beanery. So Belle decides to help police Detective Lucas Graystone catch the murderer. Was it someone who worked for Best Candy Company in a nearby town? It turns out that Madeline Calypso had just inherited the candy company and was going to streamline the operation by cutting staff.
To find out, you’ll have to read this fun and fascinating mystery!

As she takes her last breath, the woman utters a few final words that only add to the mystery surrounding her. Is it murder? Yes it is murder. It seems that she is poisoned. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book.
I like them well enough, but I'm starting to get annoyed that she's adding those "Once upon a time," etc. more often. I didn't mind in the first book because it was once or twice, but she did it more in this book. I like her writing none the less but do wish it had more details. Definitely pick this up to satisfy a quota or want something small.
This second book in the authors newest series does not disappoint. Very well written with unique characters. Enjoyable setting, I love cozies with coffee and food themed. I look forward to reading more.
This is book 2 in this adorable coffee shop cozy mystery by Laura Pauling. This are quick whodunits that you can read in a few hours. Will read the entire series.
Quite an enamoring series! Cute, quirky, charming and clean, the characters are comfortable and the dialogues are reader friendly! I think my favorite part is Belle’s inner dialogue in the form of story telling! Cant wait to start the next in the series.
Definitely enjoyed this subtle look into the candy business. Belle and Lucas were nice compliments to each other. The mystery was interesting and the plot well crafted. Nice series to add to your TBR pile.
A nice read with a bit of mystery. Belle a coffee shop owner had a customer die in her coffee shop. She is determined to solve the mystery behind the death of her new friend that collapsed dead in her coffee shop
I am really enjoying this series. The characters all have a back story that’s interesting and pulls you into them. They are complex without being complicated or overwhelming. There’s a real human element to each character that helps the story feel more substantial. I’m curious to see how each character develops and how that connects all the relationships and how that will grow. The story reads at a nice pace with no lulls or dull sections. It’s interesting throughout the entire read. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
