I fear we’ve lost the plot. What started out as a quest to save her father has now become … quite honestly, I don’t know. This series has been like a Russian nesting doll, each book unveiling a new storyline that takes us further and further away from the damn point of all this. And each side quest comes with a different world/city/plane of existence, so maybe a more accurate analogy would be Inception?? We’re so far down the rabbit hole, I truly don’t know how the author is going to untangle this and wrap up the story.

We’ve gone from Hazel wanting to save her father, and then finding love along the way, to:
- a battle of souls
- Greek mythology (seriously, why are all these gods losing their damn minds over this girl??)
- classic fairytales (book 1 started out with Cinderella vibes, but it's like the author forgot, then remembered in this book and threw in a random glass slipper moment which made me LOL)
- multiple love interests?
- shifters/fated mates??
- a bachelorette competition to become Hades’ new wife?????
- a philosophical debate of free will vs. fate?! HELP.

Nothing makes sense. Daddy dearest has taken such a backseat in all of this, he ain’t even in the car anymore. He’s been left on the corner 2 states back.

And Hazel, darling…can we please stop making stupid fucking decisions? Please? Every decision she's made in this series has been terrible. Face, meet palm.

I really liked the first 2 but…. what?

I am not sure what the point of this book is. I will probably still read the 4th one but this just seemed completely unnecessary and was frustrating to read. The whole story line didn’t really seem to advance the plot and Hazel just turns everyone it to a simp with one look. Definitely disappointed with this one.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ “I want to know for myself what kind of mortal is capable of bringing Death to his knees for her.” ˏˋ°•*⁀➷

where the fuck is this series going??!
each book feels so wildly different from the last that it doesn’t even feel like the same story.

this book spent so long between hazel and various other characters that weren’t Death that I was genuinely getting annoyed. miss wilde was not messing around when she called this a slowburn, i’ll give her that.

things i did not like about this book:

1. everything that moved the plot forward seemed to be telling instead of showing. and it was all over the place with so many random tropes thrown in that it felt rushed and forced.
2. ok the plot. i have to talk about the fucking plot. i could not tell you where it’s going. so many characters are becoming involved and it makes no sense. book 1 was half in the mortal realm where hazel has to deal with her shitty stepfamily and dying dad. second half was with death in his realm. book 2 was in the underworld where hazel and death team up with eros to fuck around. book 3 was… hazel being stuck with hades and everyone else wanting to get her back but not doing much to actually accomplish that.
3. hazel and death
4. why the actual fuck are all these greek gods falling in love with hazel? girl has the personality of a piece of wet bread and yet, just by looking at these gods, they fall to their fucking knees.
5. the random miscommunication is wildddddd. why is persephone so insistent that weird-ass little hazel is going to steal her man?? girl lets be for real. and why the fuck is hazel convinced that the man shes in love with, who has shown absolutely 0 reason to distrust him, betrayed her?? she didn’t even talk to him about it.

things i did like:

1. the idea of the book is cool and what keeps me reading. like girlie makes a deal with death, falls in love with him, is taken to the underworld where she becomes involved in all kinds of little shenanigans… sounds cool,... isn’t actually that cool
2. Death. as much as he is kinda wack for being such a little coddling baby, i still love him
3. the banter between eros and literally any other character is always amusing
4. this scene: He takes it tenderly in the heat of his own hand, turning it over as his jawline hardens. “Does it hurt?” “Only a little.” A low rumble rolls through him at this, and he releases my hand.
5. the fact that i finished the book and there's only one left which means maybe i’ll finally see death and hazel getting together.. like pls god, don’t let this be for nothing.

i do in fact respect the hustle. keep going alice, because as much as i complain, i’m gonna eat up anything you publish, including the next book in the series!

This is Blue Balls: The Book.
At this point, I have no idea where the plot is going, but I do know it is in no hurry to get there.
I must frustratingly admire Hazel's ability to make anything with a penis fall head over heels for her despite having the personality of a sourdough loaf.

Will I eagerly await the final book in the series? You bet your sweet bippy.

SPOILERS

—————

The kindle unlimited version is riddled with missing words and grammar mistakes that it consistently takes me out of the book and is distracting. There is a period in the middle of a sentence ffs!

I don’t know if we’re still on base with the plot. Minimal mentions of her father, are we still fighting for him? Casual mention of one brother? Truly could be either of them at this point.

This entire book was like the Bachelorette with Persephone’s bs jungle room and eliminating women. However, I really like the deaths instead of roses.

Persephone turned on Hazel as quick as she turned on Death and had the audacity to be shocked by it when she legit was at fault! Unreal.

I was happy with the events that happened in this book. It was another quick read, part 3 in a 4-part series. The titles are starting to not make any sense (Dark Gods and Monsters Fantasy Romance) because there’s a couple Gods, no monsters unless you count Cerberus, which I’m not counting now that I’m in love with him, and very minimal romance…

To keep a reader interested in a series, especially one that hasn’t been fully released, you need to answer SOME questions and then allow for more questions to build. Not simply leave every single question unanswered until the last installment and expect the reader to still stick around.

All the ads I saw showed Death as this scary dude with the mask and sits on a throne and acted like he’s this crazy dude who would bend the world for her. He bends the world, and would do anything for her but I just feel like his character development is lacking, he could have been so much more. I wanted High Reeve vibes like in Manacled, not casual guy who gets mad and throws his shadows everywhere to do his bidding for him. He should have been scarier, mightier. He is literally stronger than the Gods, he could have taken Hazel at any point but he didn’t.

I NEEDED the missing chapter of Death speaking with the Fate sisters and the author casually left that out. I have too many questions to be three books into a series with literally ZERO answers.
- Hazel’s dark powers to make Death love her and protect her
- To make Eros and Hades NEED to bed her
- Cerberus’ NEED to protect her, which he does flawlessly *swoon*
- Why is her Father and brother (which brother lol) waiting on the other side of the gate?
- The second book showed a messenger finding her mortal soul at the top of a mountain, WHY was she the only mortal to ever be that far up it? Is this significant? If not, WHY did the author mention it?
- What did the Fates say to Death?
- What Deal did they strike with Death, and what information did he have to give them?
- Why couldn’t she just BE with Cyprian? I feel like she could have run away, saved her life and all this *drama* and been happy but of course, then there would be no book series haha

Cerberus is fantastic, I love this man. It brings me absolute glee when Hazel tells him to stay and he does, willingly and curiously. He protects her, and of course he feels he also has some weird connection/ mated bond with her. Hazel’s irresistible to these god men and honestly, I love that for her.

Spoiler: when Hades tries to take Hazel to bed he rips her nightgown. She’s naked essentially. It SEVERELY bothered me that between when Death picks her up, to Eros cleaning her wounds, to Anteros bringing her to the trial and all those creatures staring at her, to Cerebus handing her the note from Cyprian that she never receives something to wear. Is she still in Hades’ sheets??? Her torn nightgown? Is this virgin still naked and somehow UNBOTHERED??? I needed to know!!!

The trial starts, Death confuses the ever living crap out of me with his decision at the end and the fade to black?!?!? I cannot wait until JULY to find out what happens, are you kidding me?

I need my questions answered asap! I will likely be reading the final fourth book ‘Love and Death’ the day it is released because I can’t not finish something I already started. But this series has taught me not to start a series without making sure all books have been released yet. If I didn’t still have questions then I probably wouldn’t continue reading. That cliffhanger is the only reason I MIGHT read the last book.

🤌🏻 " chef’s kiss "

This series has completely enveloped me, and I am absolutely in love. 👌🏼

So, here we are—devouring the third book like our lives depend on it, and let me tell you, I loved it.

This book does not disappoint. It’s packed with high stakes, mind-blowing twists, and that constant edge-of-your-seat feeling. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen—BOOM—you’re completely wrong, and I was living for it.

Let’s talk characters:

Hades? No. Just no. Solid no. Please, get away from me.

Cerberus? Honestly, I don’t know enough about him yet to form a strong opinion, but there’s a side to him that genuinely seems to care for Hazel. I’m intrigued to see where his story goes.

Eros? He still plays a big role in this book, and I’ll admit, he’s grown on me. I like him more now, but I stand by my statement—he doesn’t hold a candle to Death. Sorry, Eros, but Death and Hazel’s connection is just chef’s kiss.

And Persephone? Girl. I get it—your circumstances are tough—but could you please be a little more open-minded? Hazel deserved to be heard, and Persephone brushing her off was so frustrating. That said, her character adds so much depth to the story, and I do understand her perspective, even if she annoyed me at times.

This book is all about high stakes, emotional punches, and that beautifully immersive universe Wilde has created. It’s honestly such a vibe—the descriptions, the atmosphere, the intricate layers of the world—it’s all stunning. And the characters? Wilde gives each one such depth and thought that you feel like you know them, flaws and all. It’s what makes the entire story come together so seamlessly.

I can't wait for the next book to be publish I desperately need to know what happens 😩 Highly recommend to anyone who loves twists, tension, and a universe that will completely sweep you off your feet.

What happened to the original plot of the book? Like we started with fairytale vibes of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Now we are on to the Greek mythology part, but let's throw in a glass slipper scene. I just feel like this book keeps taking turns that just makes it hard to follow. Add why is literally everyone who looks at Hazel falling in love with her in an instant? I also feel like some of the characters are just changing personality constantly. Like Persephone basically changing into a new person. It's just weird... but yes I still have to read the next book so I know what happens.

I see a lot of people not liking the third book in this series. I for one loved it. I liked all of the different ways this book went and all of the new ideas we were introduced to. I found myself wanting Hazel to fall in love with Eros or Cerberus…. Death just doesn’t seem like he’s open with his emotions enough and I think Hazel deserves someone that can give her everything she needs. The ending has left me with a lot of questions and I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out!

I love this series and I can’t wait for the conclusion. My only feedback is there is way too many POVS. Too many hands in the cookie jar. I don’t like nor care to have Hades POV. I haven’t like Eros since his character was introduced and don’t want his POV either. Then suddenly we have Cerberus now too? This book barely has Death in it at all. But I will finish this series.

I really likes the first two book. Sure the slowburn was real slow but it was well written and with a lot of longing and feeling.

This book however was very chaotic, so many unneeded love interest, miscommunication, bad choices and overall wierd storyline.
I don't know if I want to read the next one just for the sake of the first two, but I feel like it won't get better.

Wishing them the best though

boring

This didn’t need to be a book, maybe a short synopsis in a larger book. This was most certainly a filler book and it was so short and boring and filled with useless information. I almost DNFed over and over again but I was hoping for something exciting to happen, I was wrong. Wouldn’t recommend.

After how book 2 ended Hazel (FMC) is unfortunately in the hands of Hades and his genuinely annoyed the hell out of me but for me it was Death (even though we didn't get enough book time of him for me), Eros and shockingly Cerberus that I enjoyed reading about in this book. There's plenty of slow burn steam especially with Cerberus but not sexy times yet. I'm enjoying reading this series so much but to be honest Persephone just did my head in. I understood that she loves Hades (who treated her like crap to be fair) but she had no loyalty to her friend Hazel and that made me want to slap her silly. Bring on book 4 now I'm ready for it.

Of course I’ve started a series that’s not completed. YET AGAIN. No matter how much research I did to make sure this was everything it was not. Now I get to just hope I hear about the fourth book when it releases because absolutely nothing has been posted about it other than the hope of it being released this month but no option for pre order and no set date. I’m fine. EVERYTHING IS FINE.🥲

With each book the plot seems more confusing and I like the characters less.
I want to know how it ends, but I am not as excited about it as I was with the first book.
I found Persephone annoying in this book.

Also still spelling/wording mistakes in it.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Got a little spicier than the first 2 books, but really only because of an abusive situation, really. And one moment with Eros whereby Hazel tried to lay with him. There are a lot of different characters in this book - we are introduced to yet another love interest, Cerberus, a shapeshifter and lapdog of Hades, who is also her fated mate? lol okay, fine. Hazel spends most of this book first wishing to go before the judges herself to escape the awful underworld and the feelings that she can’t trust anyone, and then feeling guilty and sad for hate and love she still harbours for Death. Death is in the background of this book having heeded Hazels request to stay away, but he is ultimately trying to clear his name in Hazels eyes and prove his innocence that he upheld his end of the bargain in sparing her father. Hazel ends up in the clutches of Hades while he performs a Cinderella test, making all the women in the realm try on the crystal shoes left in his palace the night of the mascaras where Hazel tempted him. She is kept prisoner and is on her own so comes up with her own plan to try and get Hades to release her. It’s really unclear where the story is going at this point - I’d say 2.5 stars only because I’m curious and I honestly have no idea what to expect from this book about who is a romantic interest and who is a foe - Hades basically tries to rape her, Cerberus becomes her protector, she almost sleeps with Eros who confesses that he loves her but can’t be with her because of her love for Death - BUT THEN DEATH BASICALLY DIES FOR HER IN THE LOVE TRIAL - I don’t know what’s happening.

This one was so intense! The schemes started coming together and dates were really in the balance. And the cliffhanger was insane. I cannot wait for the next book! I need to see everything come together and resolve. I need to know happiness will befall them.

I loved watching each of the guys to meet Hazel fall for her and her mystery. She is a strong and innocent girl who has had one hellish life. I hope she gets the ending she deserves. She really showed her noble strength in this one the best. Events in this book allowed the readers to see more of what she is capable of on her own.

There were new mysteries to deal with in this book that the author leaves you wondering about throughout the whole thing. I'm anxious to know what was happening to the mortals, especially her father and brother and what the fates are up to.

The best lines in this book were ""Because she is everything," I snarl. "Everything this damned world seems to have forgotten. She is all that is good, all that is worth living for. She is a light on an eternal abyss of darkness...because Hazel's life is worth a thousand times more than any being I have ever known to walk this realm or hers.""

seriously? cinderella? come on. the first book had the whole evil stepmother/siblings but completely lost in book 2. the random glass slipper?

gathering all the women in the realm and force them to try to seduce the king, something he demanded, is just a strange plot line to me. he already knows what’s happening, he wants it to happen.

the writing itself is truly terrible but kind of like a car crash that you can’t look away from and wanting to see what happens next. it is a quick read and engaging, even if i’m rolling my eyes a majority of the time. but like it legitimately made no sense. why is everyone so obsessed w her? death was barely even present in this book but no other love interests were actually developed. no actual relationships progressed. no romance. just a random bachelorette game. idk what book 4 is gonna hold, and i am gonna read it, but at this moment book 3 seems entirely irrelevant and they could have jumped straight to a love trial to save her soul and bypassed all this nonsense

I almost went crazy not being able to read this book. I finished well in 5 or less hours and I love the story. Only two things I criticized.
- 1 it seemed every man falls for her despite her lack of effort and despite them hardly even knowing her even for a little bit.
-2 The ending just completely confused me. I didn't understand what was going on.

Out of the three books, this one hadn't evoked much emotion like the other ones. Book 2 made me laugh a lot and i was always smiling especially because of Eros. But this book was a good plot, it wasn't boring but it necessarily wasn't as entertaining but I do like the book and can't wait to read the next one 🤗

My favorite characters are Eros because he is so cuteeee and lovable despite what he claims and he's funny. Death because he is so protective and he'll do anything for her and then CERBERUS because despite his small look into the character the things he does definitely gives off the vibe he'll be a really good man😫

I am so thrown off course with this one! Yet again, another love interest in thrown into the mix. While all these men are giving Hazel all of their attention, she still has Death sitting really heavy on her heart. I like the fact that her heart doesn’t waver for Death, but I still found this third book to be a little confusing. And the brother makes an appearance?! What?! And we don’t know which brother it actually is to be exact. My heart still breaks for Persephone and there’s something going on with Hades because I feel like maybe he still has feeling for her? The fourth book can’t come soon enough!

I AM REELING.

I started this little series as a come down from my last reading venture. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED.

Here I was thinking I’d get a cute little tale about a shadow daddy and his forbidden love. WRONG. You get a shadow daddy, a God of Desire grappling with newfound feelings of love(??), you get Cerberus, a shapeshifter mate situation?

I walked into this series looking at Death and Hazel like awe yes that’s cute. This will satisfy me. And then BAM speed walking backwards into a reverse harem. YES THAT IS WHAT I WANT.

So many question that still need answered. What is Hazel? Did she choose death? Which brother was at the gates looking for her? The nice one right since the jackass died way before this. What deal did Death make with the fates??

You can catch me in the fetal position praying this is a why choose situation. CANNOT wait for the next installment!

"Until Death" presents a captivating rendition of the Cinderella tale, injecting it with a myriad of twists that add complexity to the narrative.

The series, in its entirety, ambitiously expands the universe at a rapid rate, immersing readers in a world rich with intricate details and diverse characters. However, as the story progresses, the original plot line that initially held a strong allure begins to fade somewhere between books 2 and 3. It's only towards the tail end of “Until Death” that the narrative starts to circle back, attempting to recapture the initial spark.

The use of multiple points of view, while providing a comprehensive view of the story, could be refined to maintain intrigue. A more focused approach, perhaps limiting perspectives to Hazel and her main endgame love, would create a sense of suspense by withholding crucial plot points until later in the narrative.

Overall, "Until Death" earns a modest 3/5 stars, balancing moments of brilliance with occasional dips in narrative cohesion.
