About the author

Sarah Zane

Sarah is an author of happy endings for traumatized queers. As a bisexual, it should be shocking to no one that she has more than one genre she loves and writes. She writes across genres but guarantees that a Sarah Zane book will always be queer and always have a happy ending eventually. She has a particular fondness for writing sapphic pairings since they tend to be underrepresented in books. She lives in New England with her 2 black cats named Gatsby and Mr. Darcy. When she isn't writing, she can be usually be found taking forest walks, visiting castles, planning exotic trips she can't afford, or cuddled up with one of her cats crying over fictional characters or yelling at them about how badly they need therapy.

The Macabre Dance of the Sanguine Six- Of Masks and Magic Charity Anthology by RE Johnson. This book is full of spicy stories that are beautifully written by numerous authors. This was a thrilling read that I thoroughly enjoyed reading, the book was my companion for the day. I absolutely felt a message of the novel was don’t be afraid to lose yourself… (something that I need to learn desperately!) This book was full of mystery, intrigue, adventures and secrets. I don’t think there was a single character that I didn’t like, they all were beautifully written and thought out. The stories plots were amazing and engaging; I felt like it could have been a T.V series of mini movies. This book was amazing on all counts and definitely should be read!

Final review:
5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read The Dance of the Sanguine Six by RE Johnson and if you’ve read any of her other works, you already know what kind of writing to expect from her—this is no different. Her storytelling, world building, epic romances (🌶️), macabre/ dark style are still prevalent even in short story form. I devoured this story in record time and officially petitioning for more like this!

I read The Macabre Dance of the Sanguine Six by RE Johnson. This is a Why Choose if I ever did see one! I love the plot of this story. There is plenty of trigger warnings. But this story could be made into a play or movie! It wouldn’t be very clean but well worth the watch. If you like different types of POVs and don’t mind a bit of spicy definitely read this story. It’s like poetry but dirtier. ( in a good way)

Characters: 10000000/10
Plot: 100/10
Trope: Why choose
Triggers: Yes read them before you continue to read ( you are warned)

I thought this short story was a good introduction to R.E. Johnson’s newest world/characters!!! The spicy scenes were well written, and I enjoyed the way the Sanguine Six made themselves known to Eve. I’m really intrigued by them, so I’m excited to read more in the future!!!

i received the story ( the macabre dance of the sanguine six by R.E. Johnson as an arc for an honest review

i absolutely loved this book ! , i loved that it seemed to be set in older times , kind of like when beauty and the beast was set . it was very easy to follow , had a few 😮😮😮 moments but i loved them ! i loved eve , the way she is , how openly and eagerly she opened up to and accepted what the sanguine six wanted and i love that R.E. Clearly I'm a little biased, but since I did read all the stories in the book, I feel justified in reviewing it. I loved how these stories all came together to weave tales of adventure and daring, stories about finding yourself and getting lost along the way. I am so honored to be a part of such a wonderful collection of stories and hope the rest of the authors plan to continue to write in the worlds they created for their stories.
