Journey with Sara Browne and Scott into a future brimming with promise. As the couple stands at the precipice of their post-college life, the radiant possibility of their future together is dimmed only by Sara's lingering heartache over her parents' absence.
But just as the ghosts of the past seem to have been laid to rest, a mysterious figure at her graduation reignites the embers of chaos. Enter Uncle Aidan from Ireland, who might either be the missing puzzle piece of Sara's father’s family or another storm brewing on her horizon.
Traverse from Virginia's academic corridors to the familial embrace of Pennsylvania and Vermont, culminating in the enchanting greens of Ireland. As Sara seeks to connect with Uncle Aidan, she finds herself enveloped in the mystique and allure of Lahinch.
Amidst the bewitching landscapes of Ireland, Sara discovers that Uncle Aidan might be harboring sinister intentions. A message from beyond the grave from her father turns her world inside out. As she grapples with what to do, another dire situation presents itself, forcing Sara to rely on the unlikeliest of saviors.
At its heart, Handfast unravels the intricate dynamics that bind families, past and present. It resonates with anyone who’s ever struggled with their family's hidden skeletons or sought second chances amid life's trials.
Handfast is book three in the Sara Browne series. This book has Sara and Scott graduating from college and planning for an amazing summer of family, travelling, and adventure - before beginning their lives and careers with each other. Sara Browne has not had an easy time in life. Her parents were killed in a car accident when she was twelve. With no family coming forward to claim her at that time, she knew nothing of the estranged relationships of her father and his family. Her college career began shakily at best, but it was there that she met Scott at a tailgate party. While their love and friendship begain to blossom, Sara endured a sexual assault and kidnapping. And while Scott stayed by her side, their relationship and trust would be tested dramatically over time. Sara spent years recovering from the trauma and abuse she endured, and slowly began to build the life with Scott that she wanted and dreamed of. On their third year anniversary Scott proposed and they became engaged. Sara was healing and looking forward to a summer with Scott of spending time with family, travelling to Europe and then settling down in their life and careers. On graduation day surrounded by her psuedo family and friends Sara sees what she believes to be the ghost of her dead father. Turns out to be her long lost Uncle Aiden, her father’s brother. And while she briefly remembers glimpses of memories of her father where his brother is concerned. She has no idea what he would be doing in her life now. When Sara finds out that upon graduation from college she recieves an inheritance of land in Ireland, her fathers homeland, she begins to believe its just a coincidence that her Uncle had chosen this time to show up in her life. When her and Scott decide to add a trip to Ireland to their summer itineraries her Uncle is more than happy to have them stay with him while they are there. But what exactly does her newly found Uncle want. And what secrets will Ireland hold?
I absolutely love how each book in this series continues to build and strengthen the relationship of Sara and Scott. They withstand some traumatic events in their relationship and you want nothing but the best for the two of them. Highly recommend this entire series!
She met him three years ago at a tailgate party. It was her first college party and her first step into independence. Scott always made sure to put on a great celebration, but this year instead of taking her out he cooked her favorite dinner and even picked up a heart-shaped chocolate cake.
When she made a cut in the cake the knife hit the box that was hidden inside. Scott was on his knees asking her to marry him after they graduated.
College had not been a great experience for her and if it wasn't for Scott's soccer scholarship they probably would have gone elsewhere. Away from all the horror and memories. She didn't know how she would have survived without Scott and her best friend Amy.
Sara is wrapped in Scott's arms as they celebrate receiving their diplomas and wait as their families weave through the crowd to find them. A chill went down her spine while their families are giving them hugs and she glances around.
Her eyes rounded and she stared in shock. It couldn't be. She had been in the car when he died, but the man walking towards her was the spitting image of her father.
I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book three in the Sara Browne Series and is not a standalone novel. You have to have read books 1 & 2 first.
WOW! If you have read books 1 & 2 you know the trauma that has been Sara's college life and as horrible as those experiences were I think this one hit me the hardest. Be prepared for your Kleenex.
This complete series is told solely through Sara's POV and although I personally preferred multiple POVs it is really the only way that this series works. You have to experience it through Sara's eyes to totally absorb the enormity of the storyline.
This book is action-packed and has all the feels. Sara has really grown emotionally through this series and finally is able to grab back her power. There is really too much to say, but most of it would be full of spoilers for this amazing series so I'm just going to say WOW! Highly recommend!
In the Top 10 of 2023 I have been hooked since book one and each time it gets better and better!! I have to say that this book just skyrocketed to one of the top 10 books of 2023 for me so far!!
I love Sara and her fight and soul and all that she is; even though she still seems like she’s naive, she makes up for it by being fierce!! I love her through to my soul!! I am forever grateful to have been on the journey of her story!!
Now, I feel I may have been burned by him a few times and so I kept thinking the shoe would fall and it would shatter both me and Sara. Except this man just got more and more amazing!!
I am pretty sure I cried for most of the last 2 chapters!! My eyes even kept trying to skip ahead, freaking out about what would happen but I slowed myself down and read to the end. My body hurt from the tense feelings I finished this book with and while I wiped away tears I had to send my bestie a message telling her the next series she needs to read! Get them all and you won’t be disappointed!
I've read all three in this series and absolutely enjoyed them. I rarely read a series all in a row but this one kept me so interested that I had to know what was going to happen next! You have to wait almost until the end of the book to find out what the title Handfast means! I want to say thanks again to the author for sending me all three books in the series. I highly recommend them!
Once again Tricia has hit the ball out of the park! Handfast, the third book in her Sara Browne series, kept me riveted and at times holding my breath, making me read faster and faster! Can hardly wait for the fourth installment. Keep up the good work, Tricia!
LaRochelle’s third installment in the Sara Browne series is a winning tale filled with vibrant characters, compelling storyline, and a sweet sexy romance. With the trauma of her troubled past behind, Sara is content with Scott in her life. She is about to graduate from college and is ready to take her relationship with Scott to the next level. But when a mysterious stranger shows up at her graduation, Sara realizes the craziness of the past is far from over. Who is this man? What does he want? Will he bring another storm in her life? There’re so many questions and barely any answer.
LaRochelle creates a rich, multilayered romance for Sara and Scott. Sara’s growth from a vulnerable young woman to an assured, well-balanced adult is convincing. Scott is her perfect complement as her lover. The heat is turned high in numerous spicy scenes, particularly Sara’s dancing for Scott: the description of Sara’s dancing is sensual while mirroring the trust and intimacy she has developed with Scott as his soulmate.
While their physical chemistry is never lacking, the foundation of their romantic journey is based on profound emotional connection and honest communication, making their relationship thoroughly authentic. The pacing is smooth, and the secondary characters fully fleshed-out.
LaRochelle’s writing is straightforward but effective, with a few unpredictable outcomes. Throughout, she explores relevant themes of passion, friendship, greed, integrity, and the power of love and family bonds. A sparkling romance full of happy moments, a few tears, and some deliciously sensual steamy scenes.
WOW! I didn’t think after book 2 Revive, it could possibly get any better, boy was I so very wrong. This book had my attention the entire time I was reading it. Page after amazing page. I finished it in one sitting, just under 5 hours.
The beginning of the book tells us of their start, and the love they share. Their engagement and the path they chose to take. Waiting until they had graduated to be married, traveling to Europe before settling on a place to live and find jobs. And an unexpected visitor that showed up at her graduation.
Her uncle Aidan, she didn’t even know anything about him. Her father spoke of him once when she was little, but her mother told her that he wasn’t to be trusted. So, Sara kept her distance, not really believing anything he had to say. Although wanting so desperately wanting to let him in and build a relationship, but she learns of a mysterious inheritance which led her to believe he had other reasons for being there then just wanting to see her.
Sara and Scott head to Europe for their vacation, they had decided to stay with her uncle and learn more about her dad and his family. But things went a little crazy and she found a hero in the least likely of person.
Can Sara and her uncle patch their broken relationship, or will his true colors come shining through? I could tell you more but, then I would be ruining the book for you. And we can’t have that now can we. So, head on over to your favorite platform and grab it for yourself.
Sara Browne’s college career got off to a seriously rough start, but she survived—and thrived—and now she is graduating. She’s also engaged to Scott, the man of her dreams, and they just keep getting closer all the time. Sara’s life is good, and she’s ready to take on the adult world. But first, it’s time to celebrate.
During the graduation ceremony, Sara looks forward to a summer of family parties—and a trip to Europe—when a stranger enters the scene. She doesn’t know him, but he looks a lot like her father. If you’ve read books one and two in this highly emotional romantic suspense series, you know that Sara’s parents died in a car accident when she was a young girl. And though her father had extended family in Ireland, Sara had never met any of her European relatives, and none of them reached out to her when she was orphaned at the age of twelve.
So, who is this man, and why has he taken a sudden interest in her?
In this entrancing third installment of the Sara Browne series, Tricia T. LaRochelle raises Sara and Scott’s relationship to a hotter, higher level. Sara is not the innocent ingenue we met back in book one. She’s a young woman who knows what she wants not only from Scott but the rest of the world. Life can be unfair, and while she’s desperate to learn all she can about her father, and would love to connect with her Irish roots, she’s not about to let a mysterious stranger take advantage of her goodwill and optimism—especially when an unexpected development arises that Sara can’t ignore.
A trip to Ireland provides many answers, gorgeous scenery, and much danger. Get your tissues ready. This one will leave you in tears.
A Reading Feast of Many Courses Review of Handfast, by Tricia LaRochelle
There is something uniquely satisfying about reading a later installment to a series that both wraps up a story arc and hints at a new adventure on the horizon. So it is with Tricia LaRochelle's Handfast, the third of her compelling, romantic Sara Browne Series. We come to a happy ending after a sexy and thrilling adventure, but we know this is not the final chapter. Since I didn't want Sara's story to end, I closed this book with a smile and kept my eye out for the next episode in the series.
(Sure enough, Bleeding Heart, the next Sara Browne exploit, is coming this December. My preorder is in.)
An aspect of LaRochelle's writing that I enjoy most is her ability to alternate light-hearted, sexy romance with white-knuckle suspense, making her stories a swirl of two distinct flavors that combine for a satisfying blend. Sara faces plenty of danger and intrigue in this third installment, right down to a life-and-death nail-biter. But she also finds and celebrates the deepest aspects of her heart, soul and body, through her deep love of Scott, her growth into a strong-willed person, and her blossoming into a delightfully sexy woman. I enjoy foods that blend salt and sweet to create a unique taste that enhances both. The Sara Browne series is a literary analog that delights my reading palate.
With not reading the previous novels by this Author, I picked up fairly quickly. However, I was not prepared for the great words to describe this novel. “Men don’t usually release decades of pent up sorrow or a monsoon of tears. Most parents wore the badge of honor in there children’s lives until the child grows up an learn otherwise. Said by the heroine Sara Browne. Sara is graduating college, growing up for grief an tragedy. So is a hero Scott Williams. They were the glowing couple engaged to be married an showered by love from families on both sides an friends. I was impressed by this fast moving novel with growing suspense. After Sara met her Father’s Brother whom shows up by surprise at her graduation after not having any dealings with immediate family an Uncle is unknown by her bony Mother. Sara comes up with “ We are all part of the same ecosystem - all parts of the same plan. Life is like a giant spider web tethering all the living creatures together in one way or another. Great novel. This honest review was given from a independent company for a ARC.
Sara has gone through so much in her life throughout this series, and I'm talking about terrible things that had me ready to burn the world down for her, but finally, she's on the other side of it, and ready to start the future she & Scott planned out after their college graduation. These two are so strong together, as they've developed in the right kind of adult relationship because of all the obstacles they had already gone through, and he definitely always has her back that's for sure. Life throws another curveball at her when a man who looks like her father shows up at her graduation, and now she's going to learn about her dad's side of the family but she has to travel to them. At this point, the twists pop off since that stranger has a very mysterious air to him, and I took it as a bad thing because these people never even tried to reach out to her at the worst time in her life as a preteen, but Sara was bound & determined to sort things out & Scott had her back, and that's all I'll say about that. I'm completely obsessed with this series and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the third and final book in this series. Sara and Scott are graduating college and have a trip to Europe planned. At graduation, a familiar-looking stranger shows up looking just like her dad who died in a car accident. She doesn't know much about her father's side of the family from Ireland but her uncle shows up and she doesn't know why is he showing up now. She is untrusting of him and keeps her guard up. But she also wants to get to know anything and everything she can about her dad. Sara and Scott change plans and travel to Ireland to get some answers. What happens next is unexpected.
I really loved this series. This book was bittersweet. There were some moments that had me worried. I balled my eyes out too. Sara has been through so much in this series and if you think in this book it is smooth sailing, think again. Sara and Scott seem so solid but that comes into question too. This third installment in the Sara Browne series was the perfect addition to Sara and Scott’s story. It starts off with an intriguing mystery when an unknown man, who strongly resembles Sara’s father, shows up at her college graduation and causes some dormant feelings and memories of Sara’s parents to surface again. Throughout the entire book the author has you guessing what’s going to happen next, while simultaneously keeping you entranced with what’s happening in the present.
Throughout the first two books we got to see the plethora of obstacles Sara and Scott had to tackle together. With the third book, we have the joy of witnessing the combined strength they gained as a couple due to those obstacles. The ending will undoubtedly have you sweating, crying, and sweating some more, but it’s worth every word! I can’t wait to see what this author does next!
Ms. LaRochelle’s novel Handfast draws you into Sara Browne’s life as she continues to navigate the mystery, trauma, and mistrust that was formed in her younger years. All the while her relationship with Scott grows, and they continue to help each other traverse the challenges. It will have you on the edge of your seat and if you are like me, you will find yourself emersed in both the suspense, plot, and family dysfunction, that leave their scars across your heart.
It is rare when an author can not only pick up the story of a series from the last book, without repetition and without a pause pull you back in and you are once again fully engaged in the plot, and turning the pages long after you should be asleep. I loved this series, and will eagerly await what Ms. LaRochelle will write next. A truly brilliant series.
Sara has gone through so many ups and downs, and has experienced traumatic events that have ultimately made her stronger. With her boyfriend Scott by her side she now realizes that she can accomplish more than she thought she could. Her bonus mom Abigail invites someone to Sara and Scott's college graduation that Sara never met before. This stranger turns out to be her Uncle Aidan who bears an uncanny resemblance to her late father. Aidan says that he wants to connect with Sara, since they are blood relatives, and Sara realizes that she really wants to have a connection with her biological family. There are a lot of twists and curves in this book that kept me engrossed from beginning to end. I highly recommend this book, and this series!
Wow, this series is so good. This is book 3 in the Sara Browne series, you really do need to read the first two to really get the full depth and understanding of the struggles and fortitude that Sara really has had in her life. This story as with the others is told in Sara’s POV. Scott along with her best friend, Amy have been there for her through many of her struggles. You will need your Kleenex box to get through this one, I had many emotions as I read this one. Absolutely loved it and highly recommend.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and Sara and Scott’s relationships is strong, but at graduation a stranger shows up, tilting Sara’s world on its axels. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with drama, intrigue, twists, secrets, action-packed, undeniable chemistry, survival, mystery, and love, which leads to an unpredictable and entertaining addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed the continuing adventures of Sara and Scott as they navigated some amazing new challenges in Handfast. It was especially gratifying to see how their relationship, that began in Flickering Heart with so many obstacles and mistrust, has evolved. Added to that was a lot of intrigue and suspense that quite literally took my breath away. Handfast will take you on an emotional journey that comes packed with surprising twists that will keep you guessing. This is a book you will not want to put down!
The characters are a little older and the setting has changed, but once again the story keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. I enjoyed seeing the characters grow and experience new parts of life. And as usual, the ending had me sweating. The author has quite the talent for getting you hooked, and touching on real, if sometimes tragic, aspects of life that I’m sure many can relate to.
Another well written story continuing with Sara and Scott after they graduated university. Aidan turning up was a big surprise to Sara and I didn’t warm to him at all at the start! Scott and Sara have a great relationship where they have grown so much together. As with Tricia’s previous 2 books in the series the pace really picked up towards the end and this is where most of the excitement happened. Over an enjoyable read.
Handfast is the third book in the Sara Browne Series!! I couldn't put it down until the end!! I absolutely love Sara and Scott!!! Can't wait to read more!! One of my favorite series I have read this year in 2023!!
This book was a wonderful story of personal growth and forgiveness. This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed reading it from the first page to the last. The characters were interesting and there were a few interesting twists.
Book three did not disappoint! I was so excited to see this book on my kindle. This series has been a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Sarah has been through it all and is a stronger person because of it. Sarah and Scott are still going strong and his devotion to her is stronger than ever. This book gives us their graduation, and the unexpected visitor that shows up there. How will this person effect her life? What happens now? This was an amazing page turner. Sarah and Scott have amazing hot chemistry and a connection that is unmatched. This was a intense read with a well layered story that was truly inspiring. Sarah is a true survivor and lucky to have Scott by her side. I have Truly enjoyed this amazing series with these incredible intense characters that told one heck of a story. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next.
