Things that Fly is one of the three titles in this colorful new series for younger readers exploring the fascinating world of transport. THINGS ON WEELS and THINGS THAT FLOAT are the other two titles. A wide range of different types of cars, boats, and planes are illustrated in full detail, together with straightforward explanations of how cars word and the simple scientific principles of how boats float and how planes stay up in the air. Topics covered include how planes fly, airliners, wing shapes, aircraft engines, types of jets, jet engines, helicopters, hot-air ballons, wind power, first flyers, famous flights, space flight, and air sports.
This was a good book. Everything was simple and easy to understand. Good pictures that allow a reader to follow the information written and are interesting to look at. I liked getting an easy intro into the aviation world and what's what. Great for all ages and whets the appetite a little.
