Concise and easy to read. It gives a good picture of the Ballets Russes: first by discussing how Diaghilev developed to be who he was, and the origins of his troupe; and secondly by going through the successes and failures of the company and it's productions. There is a fair focus on Diaghilev as a personality throughout.
