Кир Булычёв, LOVE your writing... but this particular book just wasn't working for me If was 10, и проживала в стране Советов - would be all over it! But at my age? Every chapter of every story grates nerves Know its written in mid 80s (Гай-до, Конец Атлантиды, Город без памяти) and does it show! The perfect lil future, the technology, the ...um... IDEALS of perfection so naively presented *shakes head* sorry, but its spread so thick it hurts (and my brain refuses to process her being 12. Sure, a lil kid can be naive in first few books, but after a while girl be 17 and we know it)
The very last story in the book Остров Ржавого генерала .. OMG, childhook flashbacks!! There was a movie based on that. With the island, and the robots... and the .. that thing, falling from the sky .. childhood terrors return! One star added to rating based on that one, and only that one
