Strategic Church Revitalization: Paul’s Inspired Prescription for Church Renewal

Rate this book
The local church is an entity unlike any other on the face of the earth. She exists to display the redeeming glory of God to her community and beyond. Indwelled by the omnipotent Holy Spirit, the local church is commissioned by her all-authority-possessing Lord Jesus to make disciples of all nations. Like the Temple-waters of Ezekiel’s vision, the local church is to overflow its locale and carry the transforming gospel to the ends of the earth.
More than 5,000 such churches, however, are closing their doors each year in the United States. Most once teemed with missional, Kingdom-advancing life. How do thousands of redeemed, Christ-exalting, Holy Spirit-indwelled, glory-displaying, community-influencing, culture-shaping, nations-saving local churches plateau, decline, and eventually die? Is this a purely post-modern phenomenon? More to the point, is there any way to reverse this trend?
The inspired Word of God fully answers these urgent questions. Local church decline has occurred from the very beginning of the Great Commission enterprise. This is not a new phenomenon. And it has pleased God to give us in his Word the paradigm for the revitalization of plateaued, declining, and dying churches. This book contends that Scripture alone explains why churches decline and die…and Scripture alone gives us the inspired prescription for church revitalization.
