Although this is a short story, it really felt complete and full! The only reaso that I removed half a star is because after the end of the story, I wanted more!
Ms. Sommerland is very talented! Ms. Sommerland succeeded in such a short story to create two complete characters and to say an intense, bit dark, very sexy story!
I definitely recommend this story to everyone who loves an intense, raw, dark, sexy story!

This one's too short but the story itself was quite promising and the writing was very engaging. It surprised me that the book never felt rushed however short the story was. And I did not see that epilogue coming at all... Damn. Loved that mindfuck towards the end. The progression and build up were nicely done and the scenes were absolutely filthy. I only wish this was longer, though. I think I'll be reading A LOT of books by this author in the following days. New fan here!

The Trip by Bianca Sommerland is a short Erotica Romance of about 33 pages.
I think if it had been a bit longer, about 70 pages instead, it would have been fantastic. I enjoyed it. Came close to loving it, but didn't quite get there. Some things happened a bit fast and needed to be a bit more developed and expanded.
Bianca Sommerland is one of my top favorite authors for erotica. I love her Dartmouth Cobra series. I wish I could say I loved this little short. I can say I liked it a lot and definitely loved the ending.
Could have been 5 stars. Definitely a Solid 4 stars +

I have to wait for my review to be approved. I can say that this story hit home for me and I enjoyed it. I was debating on the rating because...I wished the story were a bit longer.

Getting caught reading an erotic book on a bus has never been so sexy. When a hot man with strong dominant vibe takes interest and does something about it, hold on for a wild ride! In this short story, Shawna, an artist traveling home from a show is taken in hand by Mark, another passenger.
The illicit sex scenes in a public setting were hot and thrilling. I liked the interplay between the two strangers. As the trip ends, one wonders what will happen between the two. Will they meet up again? To my surprise, the ending is with a twist. This twist hit me hard; it bruised a sore spot based on my life experiences.
Ms. Sommerlands' writing is concise and no words are wasted. I enjoyed how she showed each sexy submission. I liked seeing from Shawna's point of view. Based on the writing and smexy material, I was going to give the book a 3 star. Then the ending took my breath away. It hurt. I sucked in my breath and let out a horrified gasp. My heart broke a little for Shawna. The entire set up made sense and from a personal note, I've been in the same situation. That's when I completely connected to the story and I was moved to tears. It's a sad story in some sense yet it ends in a happily ever after. I recommend this to kinky readers who are looking their special kinky partner. There is hope, don't give up.

I truly believe that Bianca, one night, slipped into my dreams, pulled out all my dirty little fantasies and quickly wrote it all down and put it in this wicked little story. Every bit of this story is so amazingly hot, wicked, humiliating, and rocked my world on every level possible.
This is the type of story that you should read if you are hot for proper BDSM, with a dash of humiliation, some wicked impact play, and some steamy kink. No, kink isn’t a big enough word for this. I see kink as some pinch and tickle. You know, that light stuff that people gush all over. This is beyond kink, this is a masochists wet dream. And not just any masochist THIS masochist, beyond the sex element this story was very well written. I have read Game Misconduct also by Bianca and she has a very natural way in which she writes. That could have easily just been that story. But it wasn’t. The story felt very natural to read. I was able to transport myself into the lead females role and be her in the story. I was lost, and aroused the whole time I was reading it. Then I made my husband read it and giggled and said “I want to do this!”
And it is also more than that. It is a story with a message, with communication and a real issue that faces couples in this lifestyle that may have totally different views on it. You will never know unless you speak up, you can never been truly satisfied if you don’t explore how far either of you are willing to go!
I’m not a person that judges a book on size. I don’t care if a book is ‘too short’, it says it is a short read, so I know what I am in for! I also believe that some people that read this, don’t actually ‘get it’. Not every woman has kidnapping and dubious consent fantasies. There is a place for this story and it is on the loving eReaders of women that would worship a man that gave her this fantasy! Bianca pushes convention and opens doors for those of us struggling to get away from all the sugar kink and give us some grit and reality to our BDSM! Thank you!

This short story is a fun, sexy read and is prompting me to look into the author's other works. I am not normally into short stories, but this one was FREE online. They had me at "free" and the reviews were generally very good too so it was a no lose situation. Click and read.
***Small spoiler alert*** Do you know why this book is so good? What if I told you this author could make a sex scene in the bathroom at the back of an old bus sizzle? Yep, it worked for me. It was kind of like the mile high club without the seat-belt presentation as foreplay. If you are looking for a short, sexy read, this one is kind of nasty in a good way.

This is a different kinda book that shocked me to wits end and made me cringe a lil bit but also found it quite sexy and forbidden as to the lengths she lets this man do to her body and mind...

Very fast read - 30 or so ebook pages. I enjoyed this one until the end ruined it for me. The premise and first part of the story were hot - strangers meet on a bus, the guy recognizes that the girl is reading BDSM and does this sexy and/or scary bullying and/or proposing that he take advantage of her in the woods.
There's some tension, some buildup, a bit of action...then a shitty ending.
I had another ending like this happen with a similar erotica book and I am not a fan of this style. At least I'm not when it isn't disclosed in the summary. Tell me about the fantasy ahead of time because otherwise, I feel like I'm not getting what I was signing up for when I picked up the book.

Shawna hates flying; that's why she's on a bus taking a long way home from an art show. She's engrossed in a BDSM novel when the bus breaks down and the passengers are asked to disembark. Before she can leave the bus, a handsome stranger says a few words to her and notices her choice of reading material. Her bristly demeanor doesn't stop him from approaching her again, and this time she responds to him and even tells him her safe word. He commands her to wait for him in the woods and she complies. From there things get rather intense, making the reader wonder whether or not it was consensual. The sex in public places was very hot, but it still had me wondering how the story was going to end. The answer lies in the surprise ending.
The ending is surprising, emotional and it explained a lot about Shawna's mindset. I thought it was well executed.

What a fun, exciting, dirty, little, smutty book! I love books that give you something unexpected - something better than you had hoped for! There are several surprises in this tiny book so I was very glad I gave it a shot! this was my first book by Bianca Sommerland and definitely will not be the last! Ms. Sommerland proved in THE TRIP that she can not only produce dangerously, sexy material but she can weave the fun, kinky bits into the larger story, ultimately creating a very clever, unique story! To create such a convincing, engaging, intense story in such a small amount of pages further demonstrates how talented an author Ms. Sommerland is!

Thank goodness these two weren't strangers because as hot as those scenes were, I will admit to being freaked out and a bit disgusted thinking Shawna let a stranger do what Mark did..without protection...yikes!

Right up front I'm going to say that I LOVED this book. It started out dark and gritty and there were a couple of moments during the story where I really questioned the level of consent being offered by Shawna. But the story was so skillfully written that, even though I questioned the force being used, I also understood Shawna's mindset and why she was going along with Mark's demands. Of course, being a Bianca Sommerland book, there was a twist to the story. Most twists are normally telegraphed a mile in advance in a book. Not here. I really never saw this one coming and it completely made the story.
I've noticed that Ms. Sommerland rides the edge of what is acceptable in a romance. At times it makes me uncomfortable and wondering whether this is really a book I want to read, but it always pulls out in the end. I'm always satisfied by the end of a Sommerland book. More than satisfied, because I find myself hanging on every word and really feeling the storyline. I hurt for the main characters and truly want them to have their happy ending. Reading a Sommerland book is like watching a good magician. What you think is going on is not really what is going on.

OK so this book is on the extreme side but of course it's dark erotica or rather dark submission and to be honest I only got it because it was free. I am not a lover of 'short' stories, this took less than half an hour for me to complete so to be honest I would have been cross if I had paid for it. It is currently still free.
The bit where I've had to say I liked it and given it four stars obviously isn't for the shortness of the story but boy did it whack a wollop of a twist. I absolutely love it when you're taken completely by surprise and Bianca certainly does that with this book.
Do not read though if you can't handle the 'dark' side of erotica, even with the twist the sexual content will shock the pants of some of you but for others that can handle it, this is totally sinfully sweet - smiley face - you have been warned!

Arghh - that was hot, and sexy, and weird, and wonderful and amazingly sweet and loving!!!
So the 'arghh' part, I loved it way much and didn't want it end. We got to the point when you went, oh my god, that is such a good story and such a strong relationship and such amazing people. The story is completely complete, but I just wanted more. It has a lot of story in a short story so don't think you'll be short-changed, but you'll love these two so much, you too will want more, and more, and more!

The Trip has a Sexy cover (ok well the bottom part of the cover is Sexy as Sin). Shawna is alone with a man who is hotter than sin and dark and even possibly a little dangerous. Will she let her guard down and test out this hotter than sin man or is she too afraid to find out how Good he can be? Hint From the book: "Hmm . . . interesting reading material. Have you tried the tie 'em up and beat 'em stuff, or do you just fantasize about it?" Sneaky Ba$+ard that he is paid that man… lol. Oh wow really they were….? Well you gotta read the book to figure out who they are to each other.

The Trip is a book that comes real close to my limits in some ways. Almost non-consensual and yet not quite. Very hard and gritty in places and yet it's written in the style I've come to expect from Bianca Sommerland's books -- with flair and great skill and the ability to take the reader right down into the heads of the people in the story and live what is happening. One of those books that leaves you thinking afterwards too. Highly recommended.

My my, what a hot little story that was... and with a twist I did not see coming! Engrossing, dark, gritty and oh-so-deliciously kinky. I mean, we've all travelled by bus at some point of our lives, eyeing that dangerously beautiful guy, or that innocent-yet-slutty girl. But how many of us would agree to a stranger taking us on the ride of our lives?
Exhibitionism, sex toys, spanking, hard sex, D/s, pet training... this book had it all in the right amount. All I can say is, I want MORE.

Not worth it
I don't usually write reviews but this is so bad, I have to. There is no plot or story, just an excuse to write about sex. While I generally don't mind when it is pertinent to the story, in this case it is the story. There is nothing to read, no story, no chemistry between the characters, " The Trip" is a case of stop the bus have sex, The End. It's only saving grace is that it was free because if I had had to pay for it , I would be screaming for a refund.

Loved this quick sexy read. Shawna finds out what happens when a sexy, dominant man named, Mark catches her on the outside of their broken down bus late one night. Grab this exciting read to be transported into their sexy liaison, you won't be disappointed. Plus there's a twist at the end that you'll love.

As she tries to exit the bus, Shawna is approached by a man urging her along when he picks up her book and makes an inquisitive statement..." Hmm...interesting reading material. Have you tried the tie'em up and beat'em stuff, or do you just fantasize about it?" Sensing there was more to this man than the obvious, she scurried off the bus and huddled with the other passangers.
Mark watched her on the bus and had to remind himself to stay put when he wanted to be near her. After exiting the bus, he tried to make idle conversation with her, but was met with resistance. He had enough of her games. Grasping her hands behind her back, he refused to leave her alone. "Tell me your safeword." Whispering the word that would stop everything, Shawna followed his directions and removed herself from the safety of strangers and into the dark shadows of the night.
A short story of 32 pages, Bianca was able to weave a tale of dark submission. Shawna and Mark's character could easily be any one of us trying to fulfill a secret desire. I could not read this story fast enough and was left gasping at the end. This truly was a sinfully sweet little treasure.

For $2, I was hoping for a bit more story, but in comparison to some other books, it's not too bad of a deal.
