Nice slice of life story. Reminded me of happy get-togethers with my family. Captues a lot of family dynamics, too -- the teenager who's too cool to be there, the aunt & uncle who drink bottled water when "it's the same as tap water." The story was a bit too long for my little one's tastes, though -- it took us 3-4 to get through it!

The whole extended family comes over for a Fourth of July picnic. This is a story of food and cousins and family traditions.

I loved how clear all the different characters were. Each member of the family had their own habits, quirks, and personality, and that was expressed well even in so little space.
