Do you want to study early Islamic architecture, then this book is your best option.

Slightly outdated, but pretty comprehensive account of early Muslim Architecture (Umayyad and Abbasid), discussing its origins in detail. Not a word about ablaq unfortunately, and that's what I was looking for.
