I love these romances - quick, predictable reads. But this one was a little annoying; the guy seems so conflicted and a bit controlling at times, and everything happens so incredibly quickly (even in romance standards). However, it was a much-needed dose of fun, easy reading.
Realistic Fiction. An executive assistant had been in love with her boss "forever," but the clock is ticking. Either he notices her (and soon) or she will have to shift her eyes in another direction.
La chica que se enamora, pero sus inseguridades no la dejan atreverse a conquistar a su amor. Muy conmovedora la tenista historia de sus vidas, y bastante romántica la forma en que se descubren mutuamente
A cute addition to the Texas Cattleman's Club series. The interim TCC president realizes he's attracted to his assistant and vice versa however, he's not the marrying kind and they both know it. He is biding his time waiting for his shoulder to heal so he can return to his pro football career, while his assistant has loved him since they were kids and wants to move on and find a meaningful relationship. Meanwhile, the new TCC president still has not been chosen and drama between the two TCC rivals still exist.
I could feel the chemistry between the two. I could also tell that Mitch was being way to conservative. He wanted Jenny but did a lot of censoring of himself. He put himself down too much. Made too much of what his father would think. I had some laughs and a few gasps.
Jenny had to step out and not think so much on what her mother would think. She needed to live for herself and not that of her mother. When she finally took a step out with help from her friend her world opened up to the reality she wanted for herself.
Loved the story. However, I found the hero more dumb than usual when it comes to love. Almost every sign was there of him being in love with Jenny but he was still in denial and continued to be till the very end. Towards the end of the story his friend Jeffrey had to push him into Tiffany's and actually ask the sales person to show them engagement rings and still Mitch, the hero, was in denial. That was actually quite funny to read when Mitch chuckled at the thought that Jeffrey could not push him into doing something rash like choosing an engagement ring but ended up doing exactly that.
This quick tantalizing novel is an excellently written novel about a shy girl, coming to terms with who she really is and going after what what she wants in life, and a man, distracted by the dreams of his younger self realizing that those visions of his life he once had aren't the things he wants anymore and discovering his new desires.
This book reminded me of a Harlequin Presents in that the hero was a rich skunk butt and the heroine forgives him like water off a duck's back. It was well written and frankly I enjoyed the best friends' back story better as it provided the humor for the book.
Who are you and what have you done with Jenny? Is the question football hero Mitch Haywood is asking his secretary. Jenny on the other hand is seeing herself in a different light, what will this so to their friendship?
