I love this book (a compilation of stories that feature intrepid galactic mediator, SAM BOONE. He's quick on his feet (If being chased); but his impulsivity and recklessness are tempered by a deep down (very far down) morality. Stories have that old school feel (I think these were all individually published in Analog mag or competitors). You can imagine a 60's style tv announcer (superhero tv style): On this episode...

The closest in genre would be the RETIEF series (Keith Laumer) and PLOB series (Craig Zerf).

. If you require hard science or complex world building to enjoy sci-fi (or need "in your face" humour) this book isn't for you (author's other works are well rated hard sci-fi.) This does fit Robert Rankin's aptly (self)named genre of Far Fetched fiction. Enjoy!

This is a collection of Sam Boone short stories. It is Chuck full of humor. It is a must read for fans of Douglas Adams or humor. Adding to the quality of the writing is the afterward by the author telling how Dam came to be.
