As with Visual Comparisons, the introductory essay exceeds the visual essay that makes up the main body of the book. The introduction is amusing and thought provoking, the visual 'essay' is no Ways of Seeing and does not go further than a display of works with small captions. Nothing wrong with that, but it means the main part of the book is coffee table fare.
