Utterly disappointed. There's nothing to learn from this book. Author doesn't tell anything new, doesn't go in details or specifics of any aspect of ai. It feels as if whole book was written using chatgpt.
Author also comes from a very American pov (scared of China and other similar politival narrative) which is a turn off. The title says our planet and I was hoping to find a unbiased view of all the shortcomings and opportunity around us.

If you're even a tiny bit updated on world of AI - skip this book! There's nothing new you will learn.

Agree with other reviews. Book is extremely high level, continues to repeat the same concepts such as the fact that AI needs to be ‘human-centered’ and ‘avoid biases’. I noticed a specific sentence being repeated in two paragraphs / sections on page 179. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was written with the help (or by) AI.

In an age of AI being painted as a monster, Mark Minevich gives a personal, level headed, and brilliant map to follow for humanity to use AI as a tool to a brighter future for all. This book is not science fiction in any way shape or form. His ideas are well thought out, based on his research and his three decades working in the field.

Along with other reviewers, I also found this book to be shallow and repetitive. It seemed like all the information was "common sense" generalizations for anyone familiar with even the basics of AI. I am suspicious that the book was written by AI.

This book contains for some reasons a partial author autobiography-his immigration to US from USSR, work as a programmer, etc. and some basic stuff about AI -most likely written by Gen AI. Crap, DNF.
