About the author

The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.

His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.

Oxford scholar, Church of England Deacon, University Lecturer in Mathematics and Logic, academic author of learned theses, gifted pioneer of portrait photography, colourful writer of imaginative genius and yet a shy and pedantic man, Lewis Carroll stands pre-eminent in the pantheon of inventive literary geniuses.

He also has works published under his real name.

It's a classic! We are all mad here indeed. Fun characters in a wonderland. Sure it isn't a perfect plot on my opinion - the ending always seemed so abrupt but a fun cute read.

I feel perfectly medium about this book. It’s a charming children’s story filled with adventure and whimsy. My main qualm is the lack of a coherent plot. It felt like so much happened without anything actually happening. Nothing moved or changed and then it ended. That being said, it’s one I wouldn’t mind reading again as a children’s bedtime story.

I can see why this story would draw kids in with all of its fantastical elements, but reading as an adult, I’m not really charmed and found a lot of the characters (including Alice) annoying.
