He went on to become an award winning scriptwriter, writing a screenplay that top Hollywood producer Robert Watts (responsible for 7 of the highest grossing movies of all time including Star Wars and Indiana Jones) described as "The film I've waited my whole life for" and set about executive producing it. Sadly ill health forced him to retire from the industry before the project could materialise, but D. A. Chitty went on to achieve international recognition for his writings and artworks. He died in 2022, just as the second edition of The Butterflies of Thantos was about to be released.
