The Full Moon Yearbook combines lore and seasonal lunar wisdom from Indigenous, Celtic, and East Asian cultures in a colorful and beautifully illustrated celebration of the power of the full moon. Over thirteen chapters, we learn the stories, seasonal moods, rituals, Tarot cards, and yoga postures that match the energy of each full moon throughout the calendar year.
The moon holds its own special magic, and there has been mythology and meaning to the moon in every culture in every era throughout the world. A common prayer in Irish folklore when one first noticed the moon was ‘God Bless the Moon and God Bless me, I see the moon and the moon sees me.’ Something about the moon makes us feel as if we are in relationship with it, as if it looks back at us, following our gaze through the car window even as we zip along the highway. There’s comfort in knowing that when a loved one is really far away, even on the other side of the world, we are looking at the same moon.
Full of practical tips and tricks for exploring the power of the full moon, The Full Moon Yearbook is perfect for anyone who has ever felt the pull to live in harmony with the magic of the natural world and wants an accessible and delightful introduction to a lunar-inspired life.

The full moon yearbook by Julie Peters really covers a wide range of exciting subject matter regarding the yearly moon cycle. This is broken down month by month and has a delightful amount of information which covers names for each moon from different cultures, stories from ancient beliefs(gods,goddesses/deities) and how the moon is celebrated throughout the year.
Within each part we have suggested yoga poses and beautiful affirmations to take comfort in through the year. This offers the added bonus of foods to take notice in to eat and meditations/spells to help aid relaxation. This focuses on how the body and mind will feel throught the year. Teaching us to embrace, acknowledge and let go in a positive light. The beauty in this book apart from the helpful information is the way that each season is explained and respectfully discussed regarding death. We see trees bloom and flowers grow but we also see them winding down and dying off. We wait patiently for the beauty of re birth in spring/summer but we should also honour the cold dark winters and hard frosts. Each is as beautiful as the other.
This is a very well put together informative read and the illustrations are stunning. The colours pop at us from each page! I cant wait to own a copy so i can refer to it throughout the year.
Many thanks to the Author, Illustrator and publisher through Edelweiss for a free ARC. It was a pleasure to leave my review. Publication date 28/11/23
A delightful (and beautifully illustrated) book featuring several pages to celebrate each full moon throughout the year — there is some background on the full moon names, suggested seasonal wellness practices, journal prompts, yoga poses, rituals, and some related lore/stories. Very cool!
Here's another book I plan to go over in-depth on a month by month (Moon by Moon) basis, but I did have a chance to thoroughly page through it and wanted to review it now so it's not lingering on my "current reads" shelf.
Aesthetically, this one is gorgeous!! And I love how it combines Moon Magic with Yoga. I look forward to working with this book (in conjunction with The Wheel of the Year: An Illustrated Guide to Nature's Rhythms) over the next 12 months...and then making it part of my yearly practice.
p.s. Wish it came in Hardcover option, though. That's the only downside.
Around the year with the moon, magic, and yoga. The book is very welcoming, warm, and including. It's filled with tips and tricks on how to work with the full moon regarding whatever practice you might work with. Each moon is introduced with its different names from different cultures, and with that, the diversity is cemented in the book. I really liked the drawings of yoga poses and what to use in your practices. They were beautiful. I enjoyed this even though it's not my usual kind of literature.
Beautiful book full of ways to connect to the moon throughout the year - month by month. I wouldn't say it's a "beginner book," but that's also refreshing as there as so many out there. Personally, I felt like there was some good stuff to add to my own practice. It was also fun to learn the author lives in the same city as me.
Loved reading this over the course of an entire year. It was so fun to learn more about the full moon each month. I'll have it on my shelf forever to refer back to!
Stunning artwork and rich content. A book you will refer to many times, not just on the full moon. Fascinating to learn about myths and stories around the full moon from different cultures and through the seasons. Prompts for yoga and rituals are inspiring. Very enjoyable!
