Biphobia: Deal with it and be more than a bystander

Rate this book
A reader-directed exploration of biphobia/bierasure and how it can be aimed at people who are attracted to more than one gender. Prejudice and discrimination affects people with different sexual identities than the standard poles of “gay” and “straight.” This book helps readers identify biphobia and start a conversation about how to deal with it.

A very close friend of mine recently had his daughter tell him she was bisexual. I read this book to try to help him talk to her; some of his extended family has already 'distanced' from her - this is not only a strain on her but he is very angry that members of his own family will not support her. I have known her since she was little. I want to be a person she can talk to (if she wants to) knowing that I will try to help her anyway I can. I had never heard the term Biphobia before, reason enough to pick up this book.
