Love the book. What an awesome journey. This book brings us through islands and mountains that symbolize the ups and downs in life. As the author mentioned in the book, this book is not a self-development book (self development comes from within) but a self-reminder book i.e. being grateful, smile, cry when you need to and count your blessings.

The only issue I have with this book is when he mentioned there is a big difference between being glum and being clinically depressed. Medically, yes. But in reality, there is a very fine line to it especially for those who do not (or afraid to) seek professional help.

But putting that aside, this book helps in reminding you that happiness comes from within. You do not seek happiness. You change yourself for the better and the happiness will be there.

I got this for free from work.

Absolute shite. Not sure what the point of it was.

No decent advice, over-thrashed cheesy metaphors, and seemed to push the lovely idea that people go to the doctor whenever they are the slightest bit sad to be medicated into feeling nothing at all.

Absolute shite, only got 1* because Goodreads won't let me give it 0.

Buy it now, don't waste another minute. An essential, guide with an important lesson for us all told in way which engages. This is not a self-help book with instructions and exercises in the usual sense. It is an enjoyable read providing you with an opportunity to take stock and maybe if you not too stuck in your current rut of existing, enjoy living. My apologies Andy and crew, I am not able to do your route map justice in terms of an eloquent and inspiring review which it deserves. What I can tell everyone is that never before have I finished reading a book and started reading it again straight away. I have also never before bought six copies of any book I have read and given them to friends, family and colleagues. I only hope they can learn to be aware of and be open to the happiness around them as I have around me.

Enjoy your route-map happiness.

Beli buku ini di bbw, tapi ternyata soft covernya beda. Kalau punyaku perpaduan warna biru dan kuning.

I love that this book provides insights about happiness which are not cliche, but practical. I highly recommend this book due to this plus, you get to learn the word 'happiness' based on different languages around the world. Just like the title suggests, this book provides a step-by-step approach on how you can achieve true happiness in your life, with having the fundamental understanding of what happiness truly is.

This book was kindly gifted to me by a friend. I don't usually read self-development books but Happiness was quite helpful.

I've learned some things, even though the authors aren't actually teaching us how to be happy. There were other things that I already knew but it was nice to discover someone else thinks like this.

I've underlined a lot of passages and I will definitely go back to these in the future!

Really not my cup of tea... And I am so sad! Because I do love the idea so much! It is very well presented and I could see it was well researched as well.
This book is now with a fried who cannot praise it enough! Just shows you that if a book does not fit you it might fit someone else just perfectly!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and yes I get it might not be for everyone, the writing style is humorous, but that’s the whole point I guess. I think this book has some great points and highlights them in plain and simple English. I would recommend
Give it a go, it’s a little like marmite, but hey, positive thoughts everyone.

I read a lot of self help books and stuffs, and i think this book is like psychology school book; full of theory and boring. Didn’t do anything to change the way i see in life-happiness, and didn’t bring any “grin” as it claims. Just boring.

A few little nuggets of wisdom but overall I found this book just too difficult to read. Far too many analogies and the author comes across as trying to hard to be humorous.

I won't be picking up any further books from this author, the writing style completely put me off.

It was fun reading it, although I feel like I haven’t learned how to apply this new me that has been pointed out in the end.
It’s a great book to read. However, it didn’t give me the how.
Also I enjoyed reading it.

How to get there explained…

…you’re already there! You have to live a light-hearted approach to perhaps one of the heaviest topics, meaning of life. Makes you think and really accessible.

The book was written in an interesting way. Map is a great idea! But the whole gist is not as interesting. Guide to happiness that didn’t really serve much happiness while reading the book.

Happiness. Your route map to inner joy, is a book that will make you think about your life, what you think is important in your life, and what you really want in life. It really did make me think about the daily choices that I make.

Although the subject matter within this self development book is not a new one, the way in which it is presented as a travel holiday is completely unique. The language used is also easy to read and understand. It both engages and captures the imagination.

This book is incredibly practical and it makes you examine daily living. A lot of the suggestions are common sense, but when put in print, and in context, it made me realise how simple some of these changes were to make. The book is divided up into different sections. You can read the book as one long story, or you can dip in and out of chapters. It's a flexible book.

The book reads as a travel journey towards happiness, and is funny yet informative. As I've said, there's nothing really new in this book, but the approach is very different and it makes you think, and that I feel is what this genre of book should do.

I also feel that this book is one in which you can grow with, come back to from time to time. It's not a book that will provide an instant fix to your life, I don't like books that tell you to 'read this book and your life will transform', because life isn't quite like that. This is very much a book that gives you ideas and thoughts to work with.

The author Dr Andy Cope also provides us with a useful reading list, and references to research that he mentions within the book. Each chapter also ends with a list of top tips that reinforces the main points of the chapter, and practical things that you can try.

I really liked this book for its simplicity, yet thought provoking themes about how you can make life more meaningful and live in the moment. This book would make a lovely present.

With thanks to the publisher and Bookbridgr for providing me with a hardback copy for review purposes.

This isn't the first non-fiction I've read recently that aims to inspire mindfulness and happiness, and it won't be the last either.

Finding inner joy is very much a hype in lifestyle publishing right now and I can see why. In our ever-connected, switched on and fast-paced society it's very easy to get stuck in a rut and on auto pilot and forget about your own happiness along the way. I certainly fall victim to this mind-set.

Books like this for the most part don't say anything new, but they are a reminder of what is truly important in life and what easy changes you can make in your routine and outlook to make it happen. This particular little tome isn't only well-researched and inspirational, but hilariously told to boot.

Though perhaps Andy Cope or his editor can cut out about 75 per cent of the question marks? Reading every other sentence as an uncertainty became a bit annoying. Other than that this was a delightful read.

Are you feeling down in the dumps? Months upon months of self isolation getting you down? Blitzed through the author's other works and thought this one would be a good try to lift up your spirits? Okay, let me stop you right there.

The idea of taking the reader down a happiness tour is unique, concepts are explained in a clear way with understandable metaphors. This is not a bad book, but there is so much overlap with another book written by the same authors, Be Brilliant Every Day, that it just seems like a cash grab, and for that reason, I can't recommend this book or give this a higher rating.

Tl;dr: Good book for first time readers of Andy Cope. Don't buy if you've read his other stuff before, unless you want to throw away £7.
