I read this book as a child, and for the love of god, I never could find it back, even the title couldn't be found anywhere even though I knew the name of the main protagonist. Some days I even thought I had just dreamed the story. This morning the name just popped back into my head, and well... here we are.

It all started one summer vacation. We were going away from home for a few weeks so my mom got me a big book from the library. From the first chapter I was taken and the day we returned I want to the library to get the second part of this trilogy.

Quillen is a children mystery series which really pushes the boundaries of the young mind (again, I had thought I could've dreamed up this series). The creepy setting in the village really make it feel like everything is more than you know at the moment. And then there is the maze of small streets where weird things happen which needs to be taken daily, just to get to school.

The overall tension in these books makes for a very pleasant read. But I would not recommend it for young readers, only if they are quite skilled. It takes a lot of imagination to keep this world up running in your mind.

I rate this series a nostalgic 7,5 / 10. It gave me good fun, but it was also hard to follow at some points throughout the story.
