I am writing my review here after reading all 7 volumes of Jing King of Bandits.

I came back and bought all the volumes to this series as the first two were childhood treasures that i held onto since buying them decades ago.

I was attracted to this series for its gritty art style which is sharp and beautiful as well as the cool suave aesthetic of the protagonist and his witty crow partner.

Overall the series is very shallow, the plot is not super deep. We follow Jing as he travels from city to city in this beautiful steam punk fantasy world looking for obscure treasures to steal. There never really is any more depth than that but there is some very funny moments as well as some action packed ones.

There is no combat or power system here as found in other mangas, it is purely vibes and aesthetic. Sometimes that is all you need.

Towards the last volume we really do lose and sense of plot but the first few volumes are great. I give this series a solid 3/5 stars.

Series: Jing, King of Bandits #7
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

This final volume of Jing's story involves a heist to steal a Bird of Paradise. Sadly I think this was my least favorite volume out of all the books because the villain wasn’t very interesting. Also, like the previous volumes, the panels did get confusing at times which made it hard to understand what was happening.
