Rate this book
Camogli is a small town in Italy. People there often paint in a special style called 'trompe l'oeil.' These paintings are so good, viewers think they're real things, but they're not. They're paintings! What things are real in Camogli? What things are actually paintings?

Finally found this book after 13 years :))))) Loved it!
From trompe l'oeil to AI generated images and videos, I honestly don't know what I can believe!
P.S.: I miss how easy A2 English was :))))

I immensely enjoyed this book. Before reading it, I never thought or heard that there was an art technique called trompe l'oeil, and this book really opened my eyes!!! Wow, never knew that those beautiful houses in the Cinque Terre region of Italy - where I would die to visit - could have so much things hidden inside their beauty :)))

I like " Don't Believe Your Eyes" book because it talks about the history of trompe l'oeil and it is an art technique in which nothing is what it seems to be, such as, windows open in solid walls. Moreover, it talks about art school has one of the few trompe l'oeil courses available called Palazzo Spinelli school. Most students are international and they come from another country to learn this amazing technique. However, this technique is a very " Italian " tradition. In addition, I like the title of the book, it is related to the text. Yes, don't believe your eyes and what you see may not be what you think it is.
