I think the story "A Sound of Thunder" was also another great short story that I have read so far. The author Ray Bradbury uses two literary elements to write his story and it was irony and forshadowing. An example of irony that Bradbury put in his story was how he wrote the main character Eckels. Bradbury wrote Eckels as a man who said that he has hunted many times before and have killed numerous amounts of animals and he is not afraid of anything in front of him. When a T-Rex came in front of Eckels, he was suppose to kill it. Instead of killing it, Eckels ran away frightened because of the immense size of the T-Rex. An example of foreshadowing that Bradbury put in his story was when Eckels ran off of the path. In the beginning of the story, Travis, who was in the time machine with Eckels and others warned Eckels not to step off the path at all whatsoever because it will change the future. When Eckels got off of the path that he was not suppose to, he accidentally killed a butterfly and when Eckels, Travis, and all of them got back to the present or the "future," they all realized that the presidency of Keith in the beginning of the story changed to Deutscher, a powerful dictator.

This book was short to me but the stories were really interesting. There was one specific story that I could relate , the one about the baby being born. His mom knew he wasn't suppose to be born , she knew what he was & she was in denial. Eventually the baby kills the mom & dad because in some he was the Anti-Christ but the point where I can relate is I was in detail also when my baby brother was going to be born. 15 years alone yeah I didn't how to react. I eventually got passed that & now I love him more & more each day. The other stories of this book weren't bad they had all the things I look I'm for books & also movies. I would recommend this book to people who like mystery & scary books. Over all I would read this book again & again that's how much I liked it.

This is a required short story for many high school freshmen. Strongly suggest you have fun analyzing Mr. Travis and Eckels. If you approach this story with an open mind and curiosity, you will develop a taste for exploring other science fiction stories. Bradbury is an author that knows how to manipulate time, words and character flaws.

This is a sci-fi book that is based in the future and just goes to show that you should always give thought into what another person is saying. Even though you may not agree with it, you should always respect it. "Learn to disagree without being disagreeable."

Short story telling at it's best. My favorite in this group is Tomorrow's Child. The story of a child born in an alternate time to that of his parents.

Ray Bradbury is a master at showing the plight of humanity and the pitfalls that we entrap ourselves into.
