Scott Prussing was born in New Jersey, but was smart enough to move to beautiful San Diego as soon as he received his Master's degree in psychology from Yale University. He is the author of the critically acclaimed paranormal romance series the Blue Fire Saga (nine books), as well the post-apocalyptic fantasy Anomaly, the mystery/suspense novels Unturned Stones and Tangled Webs. Scott has also published the 5 book, XXX-rated Seduction Seriesr.
In addition to writing, Scott enjoys going to the movies (not renting!), hiking, riding his bicycle near the beach, and golf. He remains one of the few people in the United States without a cell phone.
Wow!! I just finished reading this second instalmen! What an amazing suspenseful mysterious read! I loved it! Scott uses his background in psychology with a descriptive and homuros writing style to build the world and characters up even more drawing you in from the start. There are so many twists and turns, evil plots, and horror action scenes to keep you turning pages well into the night.
Turning 18 comes with a series of changes within Leesa that she has absolutely no knowledge of, as the scenes play out, her emotions arise, strange things start to happen and nightmares begin, causing her to question her sanity.
When a man unexpectedly calls her, and claims he is a relative, she doesn’t believe him, on top of all that, Rave, her boyfriend, must leave just as things begin a suspenseful and twisted journey into a world of dangerous mystery, and all she wanted was to enjoy college life and of course learn to kiss Rave…… As the nightmares start to unfold right before her eyes, she begins to wonder what is happening to her and if that man is really who he says is. Has time ran out, or can he find her in time?
The characters are very well developed, there is a certain sneaky, diabolical, and lying vamp, hell bent on revenge I just wanna STAKE!! I love that in a book! We are introduced to new characters as well as reacquainted with old.
I would recommend this seres to all YA and up. Absolutely amazing.

Our Review [By LITERAL ADDICTION’s Pack Alpha – Michelle L Olson]: Having quickly gotten over my apprehension about the series being, as I lovingly called it in my Breathless review, “a paranormal romance said to straddle the line between YA and Adult written by a dude”, I jumped into Deathless eagerly needing to know what was next for Leesa, Rave, Stefan and the crew.
Scott didn’t disappoint, and in my first sitting with Deathless, I was up until 4:00am and counting down the time at work in the following days until I could pick it up and finish it.
Deathless, like Breathless, was wonderfully written and gripping, but I found myself even more captivated by the story since I was now invested in the characters and their story. In addition, Deathless adds a whole new spin to the series that wasn’t really even hinted at in Breathless, and makes the reader want Helpless (Book #3 of the Saga) immediately upon finishing the last page – in fact, I outwardly groaned when I clicked my “next page” button on my Kindle and there was no ‘next page’ to be had.
Deathless is an exciting, surprising, romantic, funny read, and a fabulous 2nd installment to the Blue Fire Saga. I personally can’t wait for Book #3, Helpless, and eagerly look forward to my copying arriving for the Holidays.
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Deathless 5 Skulls and definitely recommends it for anyone who started the Blue Fire journey with Breathless. We also recommend it for both Young Adult and Adult Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance lovers who want a light-hearted, unique Paranormal read.
For those of you that do not know, Scott also has a short romance out called Mine: A Love Story, and a murder mystery/suspense called Unturned Stones (which I’ll be digging into next!). Having read Breathless, Mine, and Deathless, I have to say that being a Scott Prussing fan and book connoisseur is like playing Where’s Waldo combined with a rousing match of Memory. There are small scene/character/reference cross overs in the 3 books and it’s been fun to try to remember and decide where and how I saw it before. It’s like a literary scavenger hunt with a dose of déjà vu. :-)
Wow... Just wow... Certainly better then it's prequel.
Synopsis Deathless is a direct sequel to Breathless and continues where it ended. It is highly recommended to read the books in series order.
Leesa Nyland is living her normal life, glad that both her mother and brother is making a good recovery when she is getting a strange phone call, the man on the other end claims he is her father. Leesa dose not get to know more than this, she drops her phone in shock and the call disconnects when it crash on the pavement.
Dominic had tried to find Leesa for several month now. He had now finally talked to her over phone, but she had disconnected the call unexpectedly. That what he said to Leesa over the phone wasn't even completely true, but at least in some way it was. He needed to find her to be able to explain certain things.
Bradly's old girlfriend Edwina where at the same time plotting a revenge plan for loosing her feeder.
Leesa is at this time beginning to experience some strange things. It begins with dreams about zombies that seems to turn out to become true. And she also seemingly moved items with her mind, even if she couldn't reproduce it on purpose.
Review The story has a good pace and there is always happening something. Most of the time we spend with Leesa and her family and friends, but from time to time we get a short chapter telling the story from Dominic's or Edwina's point of view.
Most of the problems I had with the prequel is now better. The chapters are still short. Especially the chapters focusing on Dominic or Edwina seem to be short. This want me to want to know more about what happens to those characters.
Scott has done it again! An absolute smashing follow up to his debut novel ‘Breathless’; a critically acclaimed paranormal romance.
Deathless picks up right where the last story left off. Leesa Nyland has her brother back safe from a blood drained fate. With her awesome, supernatural boyfriend Rave in her life, she couldn’t be more happy to continue on as a regular college student. Yet walking dead zombies haunt her dreams and a sinister vampire plots the ultimate revenge against her. Leesa, along with the help of Rave discover that not everyone is who they seem to be and that she is also not everything that meets the eye.
Filled with plot twists and turns, the intensity rises in this breath-taking follow-up. Hot Volkaanes and vampires aplenty– along with magic and unforeseen forces will shape Leesa’s future in stunning, unpredictable ways. A heart pounding must-read!
WARNING One Bite and U will be hooked! I Love The Blue Fire Saga it just keeps getting better and better I cant get enough of Leesa & Rave they are simply to die for and Cali had me lol so hard with her sass & spunkiness! Deathless is a dangerously delicious romance with a tasty touch of mystery N suspense! I was up all night with this awesome read it grabbed me by the heart and held on tight! Scott Prussing has done a masterful job of making U feel as if U have stepped right into the thrilling supernatural world of smokin' hot Volkaanes and sinister Vamps that he has created! Seriously this saga needs to be made into movies or a TV series! 5 Sizzling Stars All The Way! I'm already on book 3 Helpless!!!
I really enjoyed this book, it was a great sequel to Breathless. I did get a little frustrated at times because I felt that the author spent more time referencing back to Breathless than necessary. Since I read the books back to back, I was fresh on the information and did not need the background. Also, he seemed to use the same description for places, like Balin's cabin..
Overall, this book really allowed me to enter Leesa's world and get carried away in it. I felt like I could feel Rave's fire and the chill of Stefan's touch. It was a page-turner and I read through the night to finish. I have already read Helpless and and hoping that there will be another book to follow!
Deathless written by Scott Prussing is the second installment in the Blue Fire Saga. Leesa's adventures in college continue. She struggles with many of the same things that we all experienced our first year of college. Her relationship with Rave is not your standard boy meets girl situation but is very believable. Scott keeps the pace flowing with interesting characters, drama and amazingly descriptive scenes throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Deathless and highly recommend it!!! Enjoy <3
I have really been drawn into this series and the second book, Deathless, left me even more hooked!! Just when you think you know where the story is going, it changes in a different direction you weren't expecting. This is a really enjoyable storyline for anyone who likes paranormal series. I will be anxiously waiting for the publication of third book!!
Leesa and Rave are back and let's just say things are getting interesting. But not only are things getting weirder for Leesa, but new challenges have risen where she has to decide what to do next knowing it will affect her for the rest of her life. Will she accept her fate or not. Read this book and find out what happens and what she decides.
Pretty good though I wanted to shake the heroine a couple of times. I'm just not interested in pursuing the rest of the books in the series unless they were free. Even then, they would probably wait awhile in my Kindle list that is 8 pages long already. **Note--I really hated the self plug of the author unless the mc was reading a different book called "Breathless".
Ohh this book just kept me involved in the story the entire way though it was a page turner. If you want a refreshing take on vampires and romance read the books in this bluefire saga. You won't be sorry, this saga keeps you wanting more. The new book is being released soon!
Love, love, love the Blue Fire Saga by Scott Prussing. There is so much action, adventure, love and humor in these books. I highly recommend you read them from the beginning. You won't be able to put them down. www.twilightersdream.com
A lot more twists and turns. Even more supernatural and also unnatural beings appear in Deathless. The story continues to surprise me, really loving the series.
This is the 2nd book in the Blue Fire Saga and while I am not overly in love with the series yet, it still is interesting enough to make me continue on with the next book in the series.
While I was not sure, I kind of figured that Leesa was going to have some sort of supernatural ability from somewhere, it just made sense for the storyline.
Book 2 pretty much picks up where book 1 leaves off, in this installment of the series, we get more details as to what is so special about Leesa that draws the Volkaanes and Vampires alike. I am more intrigued to see where the Leesa and Stefan storyline is going to take me.
I loved Deathless as much as Breathless, the first book of The Blue Fire Saga. Scott Prussing has a way of sucking you in from the first page, I love his writing style!
After healing her mom, saving her brother and narrowly excaping becoming a vampire herself, Leesa wants all this supernatural stuff to be over. With the exception of her super hot Volkaane boyfriend Rave of course.
And everything seems to go well till Leesa starts to have some really creepy dreams. Not the mention the weird phone call she received and a vampire who wants revenge for losing her "feeder".
Deathless is a fast-paced story, full of suspense and with great charachters.
This was such a great book I just flew through the chapters. It is so well written & the details are amazing. I can’t wait to start the next book, the story just flows along with no skips or jumps to something else. I would recommend his books to everyone it was just so well thought out & executed. High praise!! Thanks for the adventure!!
This is the second book in The Blue Fire Saga. I loved it!
Leesa Nyland is a fascinating character. She is a typical teen, except for the fact that her mother was bitten by a one fanged vampire whilst carrying her. She is a feisty woman, who has faced danger and won. However, she is about to face an even greater challenge. I really liked this character. She is reckless at times, but it is her loyalty, bravery and love for her friends and family that makes this character stand out for me.
I have been meaning to read this book for some time; It has been sat on my Kindle, staring at me since April last year. I finally managed to get to it, and realised that I am a total idiot for not reading it sooner! I was quickly swept up in the story and carried away by the descriptions and the characters. I enjoyed meeting Rave, Leesa's volkaane (vampire hunting) boyfriend, again. He is still trying to learn how to control his fire, so that he and Leesa can kiss for longer than a few seconds without killing her. This is quite challenging, but he obviously loves Leesa and will do anything to protect her. The story is told from mostly Leesa's point of view, but there are some other characters that have their say, namely Rave, Edwina and Stefan. Edwina is still sore from losing her feeder (Leesa's brother, Bradley), and wants revenge. Will she get it? We are also introduced to a new character called Dominic, who also has his say. This man has more than his fair share of secrets, and I was a bit unsure of him at first. However, as the story progressed, I began to like him. There are several twists in this story that kept me hooked; one of them being the zombies in Leesa's visions/dreams. What were their purpose? This question was buzzing around my head for a while, and when the answer was revealed, a shiver went up my spine! When her dreams become a reality, Leesa is thrown into a war of magical proportions! There is action, danger, magic and romance aplenty in this book, and I am most definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Helpless, in the not too distant future!
Scott Prussing has written a fantastic YA Paranormal Romance! I love his writing style, which is fast paced but not rushed. I also love the way the story flows from scene to scene. His descriptive words brought the characters to life. I am adding him to my favourite author's list.
As there is no swearing or any scenes of a sexual nature beyond kissing (so far), I recommend this book (and series) to teens aged 15+. However, I also highly recommend this book (and series) if you love YA, Paranormal Romances or Action/Adventure genres. - Lynn Worton
(3.5 Stars) After reading a preview of "Deathless" at the conclusion of the first book in the Blue Fire Saga, I was truly excited. However, unlike most other reviewers, I was a little disappointed at times and even found myself a bit angry with the author. Let me explain. Scott Prussing has an extremely creative mind that he uses well in crafting the plot for this series; so, why then did he plagiarized his own work by taking certain scenes and dialogue verbatim from book one and reusing it in book two as a new scene. I had a major problem with this. It felt as though the author was took the reader for granted and didn't feel we deserved fresh work or was the author just being lazy? At any rate this accounts for my 3.5 star review.
In "Deathless" Leesa is basking in the glow of experiencing a wonderful Christmas for the first time in a long time. Her brother and mother are both recovering nicely from their traumas from vampires and it looks like they can finally be a family. As Leesa and Rave continue on with their relationship, Leesa receives a phone call out of the blue by a man named Dominic who claims to be her father. Before she can truly understand what he attempting to tell her, she drops her phone and breaks it.
Meanwhile, Rave informs Leesa that he and the Voltaane are leaving for New Hampshire for an undetermined length of time. They feel it would be best to be out of the area for the solstice. Although she is saddened by the news, she discovers she can contact Rave through none other than her Aunt's dog, Max. Little does she know but a vengeful vampire is plotting her revenge and Leesa is now her number one target. To complicate matters, Leesa begins dreaming about the dead rising and it comes truth. She also suspects that she may be telekenetic. One thing for sure, she has a lot more on her plate than a physics final.
While I did enjoy this book, I also had trouble with the aforementioned items as well as some editing issues. What saved this book for me were the great characters. I got such a chuckle out of Leesa's friend, Calli. She is definitely the comic relief. I just hope that book three will showcase the author's best writing talent and not rehash what has already been written before.
With everything that has happened in the last few months, all Leesa wanted was some semblance of a normal life. Her brother, Bradley, has been rescued from the vampire who held him captive for the last two years and is regaining his health. Their mother is finally cured of the vampire bite that haunted her life for so long and is putting her life back together. Leesa, Bradley and her mother are finally back together, this time as a real family. All she wants to have to worry about is passing her classes and figuring out how to kiss Rave without his magical fire killing her. If only life were that easy.
As the magical energy of Destiratu grows stronger and their self control begins to wane, vampire and volkaane alike take steps to ensure they are not discovered by humans. Not everyone is happy with the new rules and wheedles her way around them. Edwina is bitterly angry and has a score to settle with Leesa for having to give up the human she was feeding from. As if that didn't complicate her life enough, Leesa has started having some rather disturbing dreams. This wouldn't be much cause for alarm except for one small fact - her dreams are coming true.
With a stranger claiming to be her father and the dead coming to life long enough to dig themselves out of their graves, Leesa and Rave's may not have much time to work on figuring out how to kiss without her dying. New enemies, new secrets, but not as much of Rave as I would have liked. The danger to Leesa, her family, and her friends is amped up in this book.
A good continuation of the first book. There were a few problems, but not so many that I put it down. Overall, a good read. I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This one was a little slower for me, but most likely because I missed Rave. While Leesa continues with school, strange things begin to affect her. She doesn't sleep well and when she does she has strange dreams. Dreams that she later learns actually happened in real life. In addition, she starts to imagine that things are moving without her actually touching them. On top of that, she gets a phone call from someone claiming to be her father. At this point, you start to realize that the explanation for the strange pull between her and Rave discussed in the first book may be explained in this one.
At the same time, Rave's clan decides to leave the state and Edwina decides to seek revenge on the loss of Bradley. It was interesting to read how Edwina manages to insert herself into Leesa's life without Rave knowing nor Leesa figuring out who she is until the end. You also learn that Sefan hasn't completely forgotten about Leesa. With the twist of Leesa being special, it makes me wonder if Stefan will be back to claim her end of the bargain in some other way.
You get introduced to Dominic and some of Rave's friends in addition to old favorites like Leesa's old Vampire Science teacher and Cali. The book was pretty seamless in getting us to the premise of the next book, while answering some of the questions I had at the end of the first book. As such, I want to see what will happen with the rising of the dead, her education in magic, and her and Rave's future.
I just knew we would see the sinister Edwina again and she makes her evil presence known again in this follow up to Breathless. She seeks retribution for the loss of Leesa’s brother, Bradley, her feeder. At the end of the last book, Stefan had bartered Bradley’s freedom in return for Leesa to agree to be his consort. The whole plan is thwarted when her true bloodline is revealed. All is saved, or that is what we would like to believe.
Things start to happen to Leesa that she can’t explain. Objects begin to move on their own, strange people start to appear and it seems that there are more questions than there are answers.
Rave, sadly, was mostly absent from this book. He still continues to try to control his internal heat to get closer to Leesa but I must admit that I was hoping for more development in the relationship between these two main characters.
We are then introduced to the mysterious Dominic and begin to uncover the reason that he has been trying to find Leesa. It turns out that she may be even more powerful than anyone originally thought.
Deathless was certainly worth the quick read but I hope to find more of what I’m looking for in the next installment in the saga – Helpless.
