Margaret is a Scottish author and chocolate lover who has been writing stories for over twenty years (possibly more if you count her primary school efforts). Her early works will never see the light of day and are locked in dusty vaults on some old floppy disks. But after all those years of practise, Margaret released her first novel A Winter Haven in 2021. This is the first of a ten-book series set on the gorgeous Scottish Isle of Mull.
The stories are unashamedly romantic but with lots of drama and an eclectic mix of characters. Each book can be read as a standalone but followers of the series will enjoy catching up with previous characters.
A new spin-off series based in the Scottish Highlands is coming out in 2023. Look out for the Glenbriar Series throughout the year.

Really enjoyable

I enjoyed this book about Taylor and Magnus and of course the spoilt brat Skyler. Fortunately Taylor got away from her horrid family and her horrible twin sister and fell in love with Magnus and his lovely family.

Wow, what a book! I was excited to read Magnus' story, since we get a brief glimpse of him in the first book of the series, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It had my emotions on a roller coaster from start to finish! I haven't such read an emotionally exhilarating book in a while. Taylor was such a strong character and I have to admit, she handled her family much better than I would have. I can't imagine growing up with a narcissistic sister and unfeeling parents and the stress her family put her through made me furious on her behalf. The ending turned out a little different from what I had expected but that made it seem a little more realistic. Sometimes mean people get away with doing horrible things, and Taylor and Magnus get their HEA so it all worked out. Loved this book and can't wait for the next!

Possibly the final book of the year… and by far the best for me! Absolutely loved this arc from @margaret_amatt_author
-Hot single pilot desperately in need of love ✅
-Relatable, adorable heroine in need of rescuing ✅
-Swoon-worthy chemistry ✅
-Gorgeous Scottish scenery ✅
-Guaranteed HEA with bells & whistles ✅
Throw in a few familiar faces from earlier in the series, an adorable set of in-laws and a load of loving spaniels in need of the occasional beach walk and this book is the perfect romantic escape! Highly recommend and can’t wait to see what Margaret will publish next.

This book takes us on a journey from Hollywood to Scotland. Taylor and Skylar are twin sisters who were both actors but only Skylar is still an actor while Taylor has just been released from rehab. A fast paced story with some interesting twists and turns taking us to the beautiful Isle of Mull, the childhood home of pilot Magnus. Beautiful location and wonderful characters made this a lovely romantic read with a happy ending.

This was one of my Valentines reads and it really ticked every box.
I love a romance with a little celeb factor thrown in and A Flight of Fancy has just that. Magnus and Taylor are everything that each other needs and a second chance meeting and a little forced proximity give them the opportunity to see that they are truly made for one another.
I was rooting for the main characters right from the get go and the perfect combination of sweet versus steam had me turning every page.
If like me you love Margaret's books then A Flight of Fancy is a must read!

I loved Magnus and his family and I loved Taylor and all the troubles she had. The chemistry between the 2 leads was amazing and I was rooting for them even when they split up. A well-enjoyed book I couldn't wait to read but didn't want to finish it.

I lost count of the times I cried in this book, it all felt so unfair to Taylor that I was becoming mad myself with her family.

I really loved her character and the opportunity to see inside her mind. I think a lot of people can identify with her situation, though obviously in other contexts.
