Annie's Revenge

Rate this book
Elizabeth Anne Phillips, known as Annie, is a seventeen-year-old girl with few friends. Overweight for the majority of her young life, she's teased at school, made fun of and called names by the other kids. Because of the constant ridicule, she becomes an introvert with no confidence and low self-esteem, seeking comfort in the safety of books. She eagerly awaits graduation, which will end the torment she endures daily. However, when three classmates do the unthinkable, stripping from her everything that she holds dear, it changes Annie's life forever and sets her on a path of destruction that will years later bring them all together once again.

Beginning was good but end made no sense

OK, this is a hard one to review. The premise is good and the beginning is good, from the first 2 guys it made sense but once she got to the third, it went off the rails big time. Maybe some spoiler's.....
So there was no explanation about the wife and the husband being in on anything, the idea that there was a relationship with some characters was just ridiculous, the main female character was really ditzy and dumb. She explained away a lot of things as "imagining things" all of a sudden, when she hadn't in the beginning of the book and the idea that the characters do nothing about the kid for weeks is just ridiculous, and than the ending was horrible, that it ended like that, her convincing him out of the blue that he did something to the kid and wife was just stupid. And how much can a character sleep when all of this other stuff is going on??? I don't even know how to suggest this. I think it was so\so book to read. I wish I would have gotten more of the story of the wife and husband at the end. I don't want to say anything and give anything away but there was no explanation to that at all. I was left stumped this whole book.

I loved this, who doesn't love a great revenge story, this had a lot of twists and turns and kept my interest. I purchased this book last night and am so glad I did. You just didn't know what would happen next. Sometimes I laughed out loud which probably makes me a sick person. This is the second book I've read of Ms. Bettes and so far this is my favorite.

I highly recommend this book. Be prepared to be up all night.

Very graphic

A good revenge novel which is very graphic in parts. I had no cushion to hide behind, so had to put book down and compose myself before reading on. Annie/Beth was subjected to horrific abuse from 3 guys and set about their downfall. If you like gory then this is for you.

Revenge, karma, getting even, payback. Whatever you call it some people deserve it, right? After Annie is raped and brutalized by three guys from her school, she plots and plans on how to make them pay for what they did. This story will grab you and not let you go. So dive into the rabbit's hole with Annie and see how she comes out on the other side.

Personally I think the author is to hard on herself. The book was well written, characters were perfect for the storyline. Couldn't put it down! Would recommend reading. Way to go Annie!!!😀

I was not expecting that story to play out the way it did. That story was great. I will continue to read more from this author.

Giving this 4 stars as it kept me entertained for a few days, and I read every word. It's a story of revenge, and not for the fainthearted. Annie sets out to destroy those who abused her while she was a young girl. Yes, the story is a little far fetched at times, but that's why it's referred to as fiction. The tone is young, and I think the author may have penned this work while she was relatively young herself. It's grim in places but then life is grim. Bad things happen to girls all the time, and destroy their young lives. The character of Annie sets out to do something about that, and not allow herself to be victimised in the long term. All in all, a very entertaining read.

Wow, this book was amazing. It was quite the thrill ride!! "I Spit on Your Grave" has nothing over Annie. This was revenge at it's finest. A couple parts were pretty graphic so it's not for the squeamish. I loved the you were never quite sure if Charles knew who she was or not......until you knew. It kept you guessing and the revenge plan kept getting more and more twisted. I would highly recommend this book.

Fantastic Awesome Read !

Five Star's for this one, I am a huge fan of this Author I have read many of her books and I have to say this was her best work so far. From the first paragraph I was hooked. Annie is a great character as well as the rest. This would have made a Great movie. This was a book that was hard to put down and I was surprised by the ending. Don't pass this one up!!!
