While written with language more appropriate for grades 2-4, what is truly special about Just Imagine is the art. Every page's images connect to the poem, from illustrations of rockets, stars, and moons to sharks, fish, and other sea creatures. This book would make for an excellent read-aloud focusing on visualization and imagery, perhaps by having students listen to the poem and sketch what they're picturing or sharing out about what they imagine. It encourages young readers to think more creatively, and could also be used as a launching point for an activity involving the students creating their own stories, plays, or games.
