He's a wounded Army cowboy. She's a horse trainer with deadly aim. It could be true love, if he can shelve his pride and she doesn't run back home first.
Dwayne Carver is set to inherit his family's ranch in the heart of Texas Hill Country, which would be great if his first love wasn't raising and training horses. In order to keep up with his ranch duties and fulfill his dreams of owning a horse farm, he hires top trainer Felicity Lightburne.
Felicity, wracked with grief over the death of her father, can't stand to stay on her family farm anymore, so she takes the job at Grape Seed Ranch sight unseen. She shows up in her red mustang only to be confronted by three wild bulls who've broken free.
When Dwayne intervenes, she's smitten. It doesn't matter that he's her boss, or that she dunked him in the small-town Texas festival the day before, or that he has tremors in his right arm from a military injury. They get along great, and she can envision herself on this new farm--at least until her mother falls ill and she has to return to help her.
Then she realizes that the ranch wife life isn't one she particularly wants. And it's all Dwayne has to offer her. Can Dwayne and Felicity work through their differences to find their happily-ever-after?

Good for what it is. And what it is is just a lil light readin low stakes cowboy love story. No smut. But that’s fine bc it was advertised on Spotify audiobook as a “Christian contemporary romance” so I assumed there would be no smut. So there were also a good amount of Jesus type references but it was fine.
I enjoyed this story as an audiobook. This story is narrated by Caroline McLaughlin.
This story was a cute, Christian story. I absolutely adored Felicity and Dwayne’s love story. I love how easy their relationship is and how they are able to work through anything they are faced with. The ending will have you saying “awe”.
Military heroes are my particular brand of Kryptonite. A military hero who’s also a cowboy? Be still my beating heart. Add horses, hounds, cats, and kids and you’ve got a heartwarming tale sure to satisfy. Dwayne loves his family and the cattle ranch he grew up on, but horses will always be his first love. Enter Felicity, the horse trainer he needs in order to fulfill his obligations to the ranch that’s his legacy and his treasured horses. Felicity has come to Grape Seed Ranch to escape the soul-crushing loss of her beloved father. What she didn’t expect to find was a reason she might not want to return to her daddy’s ranch once her heart had healed. A story of love after loss and finding faith in a place where it feels like all hope is lost. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Dwayne is flawed, or at least he believes he is. He has had a brain trauma due to being in the Marines in Iraq. As such his right hand has tremors due to the nerve damage. Felicity trains horses and has been hired by the Grape Seed Ranch. She left her own ranch when her father passed away and she couldn't get over it even after all these months. So here she is, and she finds out there isn't just one horse to break, but, four! She can't wait to get started! Plus, she gets to teach the owner, Dwayne. What happens when he asks her to go to church with him? Will she be able to get the horses broke? There's so much that happens between not only these two, but, the 16 cowboys, that includes Kurt his foreman that you just have to read this great story by Liz Isaacson to find out all the hidden gems!

MY TAKE This was my first Grape Seed Falls Romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story provides a nice country feel in this Christian romance. Isaacson does a nice balance with the religion of the characters without it turning preachy.
Dwayne and Felicity were engaging characters, both struggling with some heavy baggage. Both suffered from a serious case of "keeping things back." That made sense in the beginning of their relationship while they were still getting to know and trust each other. I especially got frustrated Felicity's silence when she had to go back home to help with a long-term health problem of her mother's. Felicity got a zero on emotional sensitivity there, and it irritated me that Dwayne felt like he was walking on glass with her.
I found him a much more sympathetic character for that reason. Until he pulled a stupid stunt of his own later in the story! lol But they survivedThese two will have a lot to work through unless they get over that.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a decent job.
Craving the Cowboy is book #2 in the Grape Seed Falls Romance series by Liz Isaacson. Dwayne Carver is in the process of inheriting his family's cattle ranch. Although he'd prefer to just work with horses, he realizes that cattle is what pays the bills. He's willing to step up to do his duty to his family because he loves his family and their ranch. Yet, he can't stop buying horses and currently has 4 that need to be trained. So his dad hires a horse trainer. Enter Felicity Lightburne. Felicity is running from her own family's ranch. After her father died she just couldn't stay there any longer. So she finds herself employed as the horse trainer on Dwayne's ranch. They meet and both feel a pull towards each other. But between Felicity's sorrow and an old heartbreak that Dwayne went through - they both have a lot to overcome. The least of which is the employer/employee situation. Will they be able to find love together, or cause each other even more heartache?
Liz Isaacson has written yet another fabulous romance featuring Texas cowboys and the women who love them. Her amazing talent for creating characters with pasts full of heartbreak and pain. Characters that have so many obstacles to get past before they can face their futures. Her characters have a way of imbedding themselves into the readers hearts. I find myself feeling their joys and sorrows. Pulling for them to get through their problems. Liz adds an extra layer that goes beyond heartbreak or physical ailments. She manages to infusion a love of God within her characters. They may not understand their relationship with God. Or not realize they are even bound to have one yet. Maybe they've falken away from God. Maybe they haven't had the chance to know Him yet. The two things you can almost always count on in Liz's books are overcoming heartache and having personal relationships with God. Craving the Cowboy doesn't disappoint on either count!

A sweet romance where the couple have a relationship that does not involve any bedroom activity. They share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings while getting to know one another.
The book is not about a completely smooth sailing relationship. I liked that Dwayne and Felicity each had their own doubts, fears, and insecurities and turned to their faith for guidance.
Although it bothered me a bit when Felicity completely shut Dwayne out, I was glad when she went to him to talk and didn't continue to wait on his call. He had proven to her what he thought and felt.
I liked the sense of family, and would have enjoyed more interaction between Felicity and her mother since that was a topic of conversation.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration was not terrible, but I didn't care for it. I thought it was very bland. The narrator reading the part of Dwayne and the other men did not come close to making me think of cowboys, men, or anything associated with the male species. She did a great job with the female characters. I just could not get into her renditions of the males in the book. I would prefer to read the book. I would still recommend you try the audio version of you like audio books. This was still a good book.

Dwayne owns a cattle ranch that he is taking over from his dad but he loves horses more. They have several horses that need to be broke but no one can properly do the job at the ranch so his dad hires a horse trainer. Felicity lived on a ranch until several months after her dad died. She just couldn't make herself stay there any longer without her dad so she got a job training horses at Dwayne's farm. Dwayne is instantly attracted to her and they start spending more time together as she is training Dwayne to train horses also. They start to fall for each other but then she is called home because her mother is sick. Now she is needed at home and will need to stay for several months to help take care of her mother. She realizes that she does not want to be trapped in a house all day and would rather be outside. She doesn't answer Dwyane's calls or texts anymore because she knows that he wants a wife and kids. What does she do when he stops texting and calling? Will she ever talk to Dwayne again? Will Dwayne convince Felicity that there are many ways to compromise and split the household chores so she is not "stuck" inside all the time? Will they turn to or away from their faith for the answers they need?

Now I am sure that not everyone is a major Liz Isaacson fan as I am, but if you happen to be a fan of her novels about 'Three Rivers Ranch'- you'll love this book! Wonderful characters, page turner, and inspirational are just a few of the adjectives that I would use to describe this novel by Ms. Isaacson!
"Craving the Cowboy" is the second novel in the Grape Seed Falls series and was beautifully written with an excellent story-line. This novel is based off of the sister Maggie in the "Three Rivers Ranch" series and how she gets married and moves to a new town! I have looked forward to getting to know Dwayne and Felicity, and the love story that has blossomed between the two of them!
This is the second novel in this series so far, but I look forward to the others to come later on in the future!
Dwyane’s first encounter with Felicity left him feeling embarrassed and just a little humiliated. However, when she turns up as his ranch the next day as his new employee, he realises that he is going to have to put aside his negative feelings, especially as she evokes feelings in him that he thought were long dead. Felicity made a run for it after her father died, firstly to escape the grief she experienced, and secondly to evade her family’s expectations of her. Dwyane has his own set of issues, but when his heart becomes fully engaged he will do whatever it takes to wait Felicity out until such time as she realises that they can be a true a partnership. This is a sweet, Christian love story that speaks of dealing with sorry and loss. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Craving the Cowboy is book 2 in the Grape Seed Falls series by Liz Isaacson and like her other series it's filled with faith, hope, passions and finding what life has in store for you.
Dwayne is set to inherit his family's cattle ranch but his first love is horses and he wants to expand the ranch for this purpose so he hires Felicity who has been apart of her family's ranch until her father passes away. She can't seem to recover from the grief so she takes the job Dwayne offers sight unseen. What happens next is totally not what either one expected..so can these two help each other move forward in both their personal, spiritual and emotional lives and find what's really important or will they hide in plain site and continue living but never reach the ultimate...HEA...

This is a clean Christian romance that I enjoyed and even stayed up late to finish. Dwayne returns from the military with tremors in his hands. He is carrying some emotion baggage he needs to work through. Felicity is hired by Dwayne's Dad and she has no idea what to expect. She's running from the death of her Father and can't bare to live at her family ranch. They meet when she dunks him at the town festival in one shot and she has no idea that he's her new boss. This was a sweet romance with a deeper meaning that many readers could relate to. The romance had sparks flying so that was enjoyable. I enjoy books that are relatable and Craving a Cowboy was. I like that the Grape Seed series is set in the hill country of Texas. It's my favorite part of Texas.

This story features the oldest son of Maggie & Chase. Dwayne is set to inherit his family’s ranch, and as much as he loves the ranch his first love is horses. He can’t help himself from acquiring horses but he can’t train the horses and fulfill all his ranch duties so his father hires a horse trainer to help him out. The first meeting of Dwayne and Felicity was fun and made even better when a few days later these two learn that they will be working together as Felicity is the new horse trainer on the ranch. Felicity has come to Grape Seed looking for a fresh start and is dealing with grief over the loss of her father. A relationship between these flowed nice and easy from the start, nothing was ever forced. Dwayne tries to help Felicity deal with her grief by showing her how he finds peace at church, but Felicity feels like God abandoned her when he didn’t answer her prayers. But Dwayne never forces Felicity instead accepting her the way she is. There was a point in the story where I began to wonder if there would be anything that would challenge their relationship and make them fight for what they truly want. But yes a time came. I didn’t understand the choices Felicity made when this moment did come, but Dwayne was an awesome guy, being patient with her and giving her what she wanted but also figuring out ways to help her. He showed her that a good relationship is about compromise and teamwork. With these two things they can work through all challenges. I really enjoyed the ending when Felicity found peace with God.(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.)
Honestly I have not read a Liz Isaacson book in awhile, I forgot how much I enjoy them. She has such a way of creating engaging characters. Felicity has recently lost her dad and does not want to stay on the families ranch any longer. There are too many memories there. When she is made aware of a job for a horse trainer, she feels this might be the change she is needing. Dwayne Carver has recently taken over his families ranch for his dad. He is aware that his dad has hired for this new position, but taken by surprise when he meets the new hire. The first time Dwayne sees Felicity he is smitten. I love the way Ms. Isaacson weaves faith throughout her books without making them sound preachy. She gives us true life experiences that we can believe and get in to.
This is a romance book. I didn't realize that was all it was until I read it. I enjoy romance but prefer suspense and intrigue. This is a good book and good story. Dwayne Carver is running his dad's/his ranch and his dad has hired a new horse trainer. Dwayne is also still recovering from an injury from his time in the military. Felicity Lightburne has left her families ranch after the death of her father. She needed to get away from everything that reminds her of him for a time. She has taken a job an another ranch to be their new horse trainer. When she arrives and meets the owner, Dwayne, sparks start to fly. Will they overcome their fears and move toward a relationship more than boss and employee? Or will their fears keep them apart?
This story started off slow, but with one still grieving her father and the other recovering from brain trauma, the relationship would go slow. In this book, we find the "Love is Patient" applies. After 8 years, Dwayne is still recovering from the bomb explosion in Iraq and he understand patience. Felicity is still grieving her father and some things still bring the grief. I understand this, because there are things, even 14 years later after my father's death that will bring a tear to my eye. You never really get over loss, because it changes you. You live with the change and go on with all you've been blessed with and this is the real theme of the book.
I'm really excited about this new series. I've been waiting awhile since reading Maggie and Chase's story and even getting to know them a little in Love's Pulse with Thatcher. This book didn't disappoint. Dwayne and Felicity are wonderful together. I love how well they can confide their secrets and fears with each other. My only real disappointment was how Felicity acted when her mom got sick. I don't understand why she would push him away at a time when she needed him the most. Dwayne is a great guy. I love that he listens to her concerns and figures out ways to help her. This is what a good marriage is about, compromise and lifting each other up.
Dwayne owns a ranch but his love is horses. He has volunteered for the dunk tank for the last 3 years and has not been dunk. This is his 4th year and Felicity dunks him after a line up tried. They find out the next day she is his new horse trainer. They are both attracted to each other. He is dealing with a brain injury that leaves his right hand to have a tremor. She is still grieving her Dad's death. As they grow closer, Felcity struggles with her faith with God. As that gets better. She called home because her Mom is severely I'll. She struggles being home. Will they have a chance at a HEA?
Liz Isaacson did it again with Craving the Cowboy! I love her sexy cowboys when they find someone who can put them in their place! That is exactly what happens when Dwayne meets Felicity! Sparks fly but will they last or fizzle out? That is the fun of this story, seeing where it goes, and Isaacson doesn’t disappoint! Of course, where would a good romance novel be without a spunky heroine and a surly cowboy that can keep you guessing who will win in that situation or will get waylaid in their plans? I enjoyed reading this story about second chances and finding new normal about opposites and their reactions.
A new horse trainer, Felicity Lightburne, and Dwayne Carver, the son of the man who hired Felicity, click immediately when she shows up for work. Both have baggage from the past that holds them in check for awhile. Felicity is trying to cope with the death of her father, to whom she was very close and Dwayne is coping with a neurological injury received while serving in the US Marines. Becoming friends was easy for both of them....something more....maybe not so easy.
I absolutely loved this slow developing, sweet love story. Felicity accepts a job as a horse trainer at a ranch, after the loss of her father. Dwayne isn't looking for love, just some extra help. Will these two be able to get past their baggage and find a future together? I really enjoyed that these characters both come with pasts and seem like real life people with faults and issues. Their story is very sweet and I love that its set on a ranch and involves their families as well. I can't wait to read more stories in this series!
Great book which involves Maggie Duffin and Chase Carver.
Chase was Maggie’s boyfriend, but they broke up because her Dad wasn’t happy with Chase. Maggie works in her father’s store in Armarillo in Texas. She only has sisters. Heidi is married and lives at a ranch at Little Rivers. She feels a sense of duty and family loyalty - except she has Chase Carver as a boyfriend. They both believe in God and they have to trust Him to work out details. Chase has to see if he can buy a ranch and prove to her dad he can provide a secure and stable life together. Chase will always be a cowboy. Can they trust God to provide money to buy a ranch at Grape Seed Falls….
