There is no introduction from our watcher this round, just the thing falling through the void after the time traveler dumped him through a portal to get him out of the way. But wouldn’t you know it, the thing just got grabbed by something in the void. A giant ship just floating around, and of course it is helmed by none other than Doctor doom! Seems they have a common enemy for once and doom picked him up because he is in need of the thing’s services. For the next 5 weeks the thing spent his time blasting away at the local wildlife, which also generate oxygen when they poop, as doom continued to try and find a way out of the void between multiversal incursion points they reside. All the while dealing with doom’s oddball latverian “delicacies” instead of the hamburger’s Ben so desperately desires. There is always a worse alternative, Ben gets the idea that this doom is a bit older from all the prune juice he drinks.
But we see in luck, doom has made contact with an nth-level consciousness that is imprisoned by the same time traveler, and by following his consciousness they can create a portal straight into the time thief’s layer! The day finally came that doom was able to open the portal, and he did it whole the thing was still outside blasting away at the local predators, keeping them from getting into the ship. Doom gave him a heads up that it may only last for a minute, forcing Ben to high tail it back into the ship and into the portal before it closed. But right before he went in he caught a whiff of something, only to see a half eaten hamburger sitting on the desk. DOOM! You evil sonofa!! Luckily the thing couldn’t stay around the grab the burger as the local wildlife crashed into him and threw him into the portal, just in time to use all of his pent up rage about the food he had to eat on all the time thief’s robots. With those out of the way, doom and Ben were free to explore the complex and the tech that surrounds them until they came across the consciousness that lead them there…none other than the banished watcher who has been guiding us through this tale! When he specifically said he was involved in this tale, I just thought he watched it closely, not this involved. Our heroes were able to break him out, and the watcher was able to call on his powers to her back his gear. According to the watcher the time thief comes from a post apocalyptic time that worships the heroes, but upon finding out that their legacy ruined the world, he blames all of them and seeks to end all things before they begin and remake it in his vision…how typical. He is building the device to do it instead of getting naturally powerful objects in the universe, say like the infinity stones, because he believes those objects are tainted and will only lead to a similar world. Instead he still steals those powerful objects, but has reverse engineered them to understand them to help make his machine instead. This watcher left his brothers because he could no longer stand by and just watch, and when Fraize offered the watcher a shared vision to rebuilding a peaceful universe he couldn’t pass that up. But of course we are here because Fraize betrayed the watcher and took apart his mind and body to give himself watcher all vision. This watcher genuinely believes that our time thief.may be the smartest being to ever exist, which of course sets off doom’s ego immediately, lol. Suddenly the tech around them begins to light up and spark as it turns out the time displacement machine they are in has been activated, and according to it they just got sent back pre-moment zero. They currently reside outside the time stream itself! But suddenly our three protagonists fall to the ground as they are hit with a wave of energy, as Fraize flies before them with a pretty cool cybernetic/star filled space costume and that same old ugly face.

What good team up book wouldn’t be complete without the meal to make you throw up. I also want to get Ben’s handy dandy gab machine.

The interactions between Doctor Doom and Benjamin "The Thing" Grimm in this issue are priceless!
