This was a great combination of getting to see different Marvel characters and story lines melding together into a complete anthology. I really like that Marvel is doing these kind of anthologies to help tell lgbtqia stories and give me a representation to that community because that is an important aspect of lgbtqia activism. I love the artwork and character development and story. I'm really glad that Marvel is reaching out to our community and helping to make does transitions happen. I would recommend this to anyone who likes seeing Marvel characters and story lines have a lgbtqia theme or anyone that just wants to see more representation for the community in comics.

I’ll give a 5/5 to any Marvel Pride event. Did Marvel just seriously fumble the bag with probably their biggest character of color? Yeah. But they will never drop the ball when it comes to their queer characters, these writers are fantastic and you can tell they put their heart and soul into these stories. And anything with Wiccan and Hulkling will always make me beyond happy. 91 pages of queer joy is the best way to spend this Wednesday!! Thank you for telling these stories Marvel.

That was... Not as enjoyable as the writers probably intended.

Main takeaways from the series of vignettes:

1) Viv Vision has dated a girl? Who? I refuse to read Champions, so I actually have read very few comics with her in them. What has she been up to? Doesn't anyone else think it's a little excessive that she, Speed, AND Wiccan are all queer? I even say that as a gay guy with a gay brother. Somehow, ALL of the Vision's children are gay?

2) Reading about an impervious transwoman, whose invulnerability renders her completely incapable of getting transition surgery, is kind of upsetting. Sure, I feel badly for her. But, I also shudder at the thought of how many attempted mutilations must have happened to her genitals. Did she still feel pain? ... Why am I reading about this? Also,

3) Black Cat asked out a girl based upon looks alone, I guess. If she were just picking her up at a bar, I guess that would be pretty unremarkable. But Felicia went to pretty dramatic lengths to ask out someone based on nothing but superficial appearances... I mean, okay. I guess she also knew this gal's reputation through Gambit. (Honestly, watching her be friends with Gambit was probably the best part.)

*shrugs* I don't get along well with most of the queer community. I'm not surprised that this was a less-than-five-stars for me.

What May Bloom - new character. Logan Lewis, (Nightshade). A bisexual young woman in a sapphic relationship. Logan is affected by a substance created from a cosmic cube which has given her superpowers, powers she doesn't want to use until her graduation is intrupted by a teched up villian.

Today's Lesson - Gimmick (mutant). Lesbian, in relationship. A mutant but originally part of the team called, Children of the Atom. Gimmick is part of a young team being trained by Bishop. The team also includes two other mutants who are also confirmed to be in a relationship, Greymalkin and his boyfriend, Specter.

Everywhere - Wiccan and Hulking. Husband and husband, Wiccan and Hulking, are on a road trip - no superpowers allowed - when they breakdown. In a hick town garage they meet mechanic Lacie Lorraine, a trans cowgirl who has lived thousands of years. And while she fixes their car she tells them her origin story.

Be Gay, Do Crime - Black Cat and Gambit. Bisexual theives FTW. 'Nuff said.

No Trespassing: Beware of Dog - Muzzle. New character. Trans (FTM). And a symbiote. A group of queer vigilantes stealing essential medical supplies are intrupted by Spider-man.

Everything’s Coming Up Aces - Gwenpool. Gwenpool embraces her recent realisation that she's Ace by planning a Pride rally.

Purim Spiel - Spider-Hero of Earth-71490. Cooper Coen, AKA Web-Weaver. Femme gay. Waiting for his date, Cooper stops a robbery.

Jumbo Carnation’s Ultimate Creations - Queer fashion designer to the X-men. America Chavez, Viv Vision, and Northstar get dressed to the nines in Jumbo’s signature couture as they strut the walkway for a Pride fashion show.

All enjoyable stories with plenty of representation.

After suffering through the confusion that is trying to find the correct edition for my German edition that matches the English one, it only got better from there.

Even if the story mix that is inside is a collection of both 2022 and 2023, both were worth reading. It introduces some well-known queer characters as well as some new ones.
The stories are quite short, which is to be expected, but they still managed to draw me into the story and made me want to find out more about them.

I am not going into a short story in great detail because of the edition dilemma, but Gwenpool, as an aroace icon, is so dear to me.

Buh that was a bust. DC definitely wins this year's pride edition. Most stories are quite cringe. The only stand out for me is "No trespassing: beware of dog". Would love to read more about the commun and Muzzle. Love the angel for Spidey that thieves aren't always the bad guys, but the product of a broken system.

Meh.
Gwenpool as an ace? Representation, I guess...

Not as strong as 2022's release.

Highs:
- Gimmick getting more time and less of the Gambit-esque costume.
- spotlight on the 'Retsy' shipping

Lows:
- Web-Weaver anything...never a fan
- Wiccan & Hulkling (side story=yea! but could have been ANY character)

Such a good anthology of stories, I especially loved the Gwenpool and the Billy and Teddy honeymoon stories!
And, I'm biased because MY COMMENT MADE IT TO THE BACK OF THIS!!!
TW for homophobia, mentions of transphobia, violence, child abandonment.

As always, I love the Marvel Voices anthologies. I do wish that this one's stories had contained a bit more context as to who the characters are or what area of the Marvel Universe they find themselves in

One whole star is for the gwenpool arc that got continued in the infinity comic. I wish they’d do stories with these popular characters more than once a year.
