Wyoming. My father was an FBI agent and I was a bureau kid, which is similar to being an army brat. You tend to spend your time with other bureau kids and get transferred around a lot, though, I fared better on that front than many others.
One positive aspect of this lifestyle is that you can’t help but absorb an enormous amount about the FBI, CIA, Special Forces, etc. Like most young boys, I was endlessly fascinated with talk of chasing criminals and, of course, pictured it in the most romantic terms possible. Who would have thought that all this esoteric knowledge would end up being so useful?
I came into writing from kind of a strange angle. When I graduated from college in the late eighties, I had the same dream as everyone else at the time—a corporate job, a nice car, and a house with lots of square footage.
It turns out that none of that really suited me. While I did go for the corporate job, I
drove a beat-up Jeep and lived in a tiny house in a so-so Baltimore neighborhood. Most of the money I made just kind of accumulated in my checking account and I found myself increasingly drawn to the unconventional, artistic people who lived around me. I was completely enamored with anyone who could create something from nothing because I felt like it was beyond me.
Enter rock climbing. I’d read an article on climbing when I was in college and thought it looked like an incredible thing to do. Someday, I told myself, I would give it a try. So one weekend in the early ’90s, I packed up my car, drove to West Virginia, and spent a
weekend taking lessons. Unknown to me at the time, this would be the start of an
obsession that still hangs with me today. I began dating a girl who liked to climb and we decided we wanted to live somewhere with taller rocks and more open space.
Moving to Wyoming was the best decision we ever made. The place is full of the most amazing people. You might meet someone on a bike ride and find out they were in the Olympics, or climbed Everest, or just got back from two months trekking in Nepal. In a roundabout way, it was these people who made it possible for me to write a novel. They seemed to have no limitations. Everything was possible for them and I wanted to be that type of person, too.
I was working for a little bank in Jackson Hole, spending my days making business loans and my afternoons and weekends climbing. For some reason, it finally occurred to me that I’d never actually tried to be creative. Maybe I could make something from nothing. Why not give it a shot?
My first bright idea was to learn to build furniture. That plan had some drawbacks, the most obvious of which being that I’m not very handy. It was my wife who suggested I write a novel. It seemed like a dumb idea, though, since I majored in finance and had spent my entire college career avoiding English courses like the plague. Having said that, I couldn’t completely shake the idea. Eventually, it nagged at me long enough that I felt compelled to put pen to paper. Eight months later, I finished Rising Phoenix and about a year after that I managed to get it published.
The success of Rising Phoenix and my subsequent books has allowed me to make my living as a writer, which isn’t bad work if you can get it. Other than that, my life hasn’t changed all that much. Aging elbows have forced me to replace climbing with backcountry skiing and mountain bike racing. I got the not-so-smart idea of restoring an old pickup to replace the dying Jeep. And, I still live in Wyoming...

Oath of Loyalty begins with a retelling of the ending in book #20, Enemy at the Gates in Namibia from Mitch's standpoint. If you plan on reading EATG, don't peek at the beginning of this one!
Kyle Mills did a fantastic job with the storyline. Mitch and Irene Kennedy, Director of CIA are not on the good list for the POTUS which adds that much more intensity, suspense, and action!
Mitch's personal info was leaked and his family became a target while living near Franschhoek, S. Africa. You know what's coming when you mess with the world's best assassin's family, have they not watched John Wick (Daisy)?
I like the ending but didn't love it. It was too subtle for my liking but more realistic than what I had in mind for that 🤬. I would totally be okay if Mills drop Grisha Azarov already. I'm not a fan of this character but he keeps sneaking back. 🙄

A kinder, more gentle Mitch Rapp awaits you in Oath of Loyalty. Nah, just kidding. I don't want to give away anything so I'll just say this. I think it is safe to say Kyle Mills was absolutely the right choice to continue Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series. Lets not kid ourselves, Mills had a great foundation to build off of. Which makes what Mills is doing all the more incredible. Usually, when authors continue another authors' series, say like Clancy or Ludlum, its a revival of sorts. To bring new life into a beloved character/s. I imagine it is a little easier when said legend hasn't written about the series recently and isn't at the pinnacle of their careers. When Flynn left us, he (and Rapp) were near, or at, the apex of his career. For Mills to come in and, not only meet the challenge, but exceed it is simply incredible. I can only imagine how thrilled the Flynn estate is with Mills and the direction he is taking Rapp. I know his fans are.

OATH OF LOYALTY (A Mitch Rapp Novel Book #21) by Kyle Mills is another edge-of-your-seat thriller featuring Mitch Rapp. This series never disappoints, and I wait anxiously every year for a new story where democracy is on the line and Mitch and his team come to the country’s defense, but this time his family is on the line too.
When the current President of the United States is scared and backed into a corner, it leads to paranoia that a power-hungry CIA director is more than happy to exploit.
Mitch Rapp and Irene Kennedy has brokered a deal with the President which allows Mitch to live out his life as long as he remains out of the country and in plain view of surveillance. The new CIA director can use the truce as a means to get closer to the President and to increase his control he convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their truce. They release the true identity of Mitch’s wife, Claudia, to her enemies from her past to keep him too busy protecting her to attack the President.
A shadow assassin known as Legion accepts the contract. No one knows who Legion is and no one can call Legion off. Mitch, his team and some old contacts and friends from his past must work together to stop Legion, protect Claudia, and take care of the threat the present administration poses to his family and friends.
Once again, Kyle Mills hit it out of the park! Mitch is feeling his age and wants to find some peace with his family and friends and leave the saving of the world to others, but it is not to be. The story takes readers all over the world and the tension level is high. I love how Mr. Mills not only writes an action thriller that always delivers but is able to also intertwine current affairs and even extrapolate on the current affairs to introduce nightmare scenarios that are believable as well as terrifying. I am looking forward to Mitch’s next adventure.
I highly recommend this political thriller and all the books in the Mitch Rapp series!

Mitch Rapp is back! I have read all the Mitch Rapp books and have given all of them except the last one before this (Enemy at the Gates) five stars. I was totally disappointed by Enemy at the Gates, but in this latest, Kyle Mills, who has continued the series after Vince Flynn's death, writes a novel where Rapp is at his Rappian best. A terrific un-put-downable read.

Kyle Mills returns to extend the series first developed by Vince Flynn, doing so in masterful style. Mitch Rapp is a gritty operative with the scars to prove it. Now, things have taken a new turn as Mills creates exciting plot lines for one of the genre’s best-known protagonists. A gem with all the ingredients for a stunning novel, proving you can trust no one!
Mitch Rapp has faced many enemies throughout his career, but none more shocking than the man who currently wants him dead. Newly-elected US President Anthony Cook is sure that Rapp is a significant threat to both the CIA and country as a whole. CIA Direction Irene Kennedy is forced to try building a bridge between them, in hopes that no blood is shed in this intensifying clash. Rapp is told he must leave the country but remain within sight at all times during the Administration’s time in the White House. In return, there will be no hit placed on Rapp’s head.
While President Cook seems interested on keeping his side of the deal, others with his ear convince the president that Rapp cannot be trusted. After leaking the true identity of Rapp’s current partner, Claudia Gould, they watch as many security operatives seek her out and thereby place Rapp in mortal danger. As Rapp tries to keep Claudia protected, a new team of assassins makes itself known, headed by the elusive Legion. They will stop at nothing to capture and kill Gould, happy to neutralise Rapp in the meantime.
With Legion hired by someone unknown to him, there is no way to stop the wheels once they are in motion. As Rapp seeks to keep Gould safe at any cost, even though he knows she her existence is a thorny issue for many, he will have to fend off attacks from all sides. All the while, the US President sits idly by, wondering if he will be able to get rid of Rapp once and for all. A political thriller with ramifications throughout the world and surely one that will shape the future of this series. Kyle Mills shows why he was the ideal successor for Vince Flynn’s wonderful series
There is nothing like discovering an author who can spin a tale. When they retire or pass along, those who were significantly invested inthe series, as I was with Mitch Rapp, are left to mourn not only the author but the protagonist who is sure to walk into the sunset. When Kyle Mills was chosen (handpicked, I believe) to continue to series, I was a little leery, but soon came to see that he fit into the writing style of Flynn’s Rapp novels with ease. Mills’ stories work so well and the impact is just as strong as it was the from opening pages of the first Rapp novel. I could not ask for more from Kyle Mills, who presents just how Mitch Rapp would think in his latter days. I can only wonder what’s next or if the series has finally come to a close.
Kyle Mills uses the momentum that this series has. Developed over twenty-one novels to keep the reader on a world ride. There is so much going on, but the series fan will have come to expect this. Character development occurs throughout, with new and returning faces to balance the stellar writing. Mills keeps the plot twists coming and provides the reader with something exciting that is sure to keep things from getting stale, even so many novels into the series. There’s so much worth exploring for any reader who has yet to sample the series. I would (as always) encourage those who want to try out, to start from the beginning.
Kudos, Mr. Mills, on another success. I am eager to see what’s to come!

It's not only Evan Smoak that has trouble with the American president, Mitch Rapp has his share of trouble as well. Oath of Loyalty by Kyle Mills is the penultimate book by this author. Vince Flynn created a legendary character and it will be exciting to see what Mills will do with his last book in this series and it is also exciting to see where Don Bentley will take it. Will we see Mitch with boots and pearl snaps? Only kidding. This book had some very intriguing twists and it was filled with suspense. I you haven't heard of Vince Flynn or Mitch Rapp you better get started, it's one of the best series out there in its genre. Higly recommended.

“Welcome to my wheelhouse, Tony.” - Mitch Rapp
Kyle Mills spun a wildly entertaining tale in this 21st installment of the Mitch Rapp series. And while I still adore the character of Rapp, I’m not sure I liked the lengths Mitch and company have gone to, nor the position they’ve found themselves; at the start of this story, or the end.
“ “The end of an era,” Rapp said, uncertain how to feel about it. Anger? Resignation? The desire to open a good bottle of tequila and toss the cap in the trash?
“True. But it can also be the start of a new one.” “
It seems Oath of Loyalty truly has brought about a new era. It will be interesting to see where the series goes from here, or how long they plan to continue with where the varied characters have been left.
I think most disturbingly uncomfortable to me was how…plausible? Real? Close to the bone?…the fictional America and it’s people are depicted in this book. I can turn on Fox News or MSNBC news if I want to see the divisive cesspool our politics are, or the helpless frustration of purposeless American citizens. I don’t need it in my fiction. Not so accurately, anyways.
Irene Kennedy summed it up best in her thoughts, which are depressingly on point and why this book has left me discomfited rather than energized by a gripping political thriller:
“She had been in a leadership position for much of her adult life and had been so focused on external threats that she’d blinded herself to what was happening to her own countrymen. The purposelessness. The amorphous rage. The desperate search for identity and an enemy to battle. For something to believe in.”

Oath of Loyalty - review *(no spoilers)
I received an advanced copy of the novel for an honest review, so here it is....
I LOVED IT! I had intentions of going to bed on time last night and I was about to place a bookmark, when two SUVs approached the gates and all hell broke loose. There wasn't a chance of me sleeping as my heart was pounding and pages were being turned as fast as I could read. Around midnight, I was halfway finished and I was about to call it again... but each chapter ending compelled me to "just check out what's going to happen next". In short, I read the entire novel in one sitting and my heavy eyes and extra coffee today were worth it.
Mitch Rapp does what he does best... react to threats against his friends, family and country. When the current administration leaks the information of Rapp's partner, Claudia Gould, to her enemies in hopes of flushing out, or eliminating Mitch, he retaliates in a manner we had yet to witness. Wow!! What a scene. That memory will stay with me for a very long time, the entire novel in fact!
Although I have said this before, I will state it as many times as needed. Thank you, to Kyle Mills for continuing the Mitch Rapp legend. Vince Flynn was a trend setter and made me devour the genre. His novels were instrumental in motivating me to become and author and the continued character development of Rapp and the stories are inspiring. Kyle, I hope you have more novels and ideas left for the series!!

When the current administration leaks the information of Rapp's partner, Claudia Gould, to her enemies in hopes of flushing out, or eliminating Mitch, he retaliates in a manner we had yet to witness. Wow!! What a scene. That memory will stay with me for a very long time, the entire novel in fact!
Although I have said this before, I will state it as many times as needed. Thank you, to Kyle Mills for continuing the Mitch Rapp legend. Vince Flynn was a trend setter and made me devour the genre. His novels were instrumental in motivating me to become and author and the continued character development of Rapp and the stories are inspiring. Kyle, I hope you have more novels and ideas left for the series!!

I feel like this whole book was a game of chicken between Mitch and his crew and The President. What surprised me was that the President even thought he had a chance at besting Mitch, Mitch who had Irene Kennedy in his court helping things out. The plan that the two of them came up with was ingenious in so many ways. The threat leveled once and for all. It will be interesting where things go from here for them all.
On a side note, I loved all the times with Anna, she brought about some levity when we needed it and her and Mitch are cute together. I especially loved how Claudia was right by Mitch's side, when there were times it would have been better for her to leave.

Vince Flynn’s “Mitch Rapp” series was built on a beautiful foundation of political and paramilitary brilliance. This series gained massive amounts of popularity on this tried and true scaffolding. When Kyle Mills took over this series, he continued this legacy, and he has also taken this series to new heights as well. Oath of Loyalty is Mills’s eighth addition to this series under his name, and oh what a beauty it is with wild political intrigue, ample subterfuge, and the perfect dose of action.
The story starts directly after the shocking end of the last novel. This is Rapp like we have never seen him before. Through the entire life of this series, Rapp has always put himself in harms way to defend the country he loves. Now with shifting political lines, and people at each others throats over the smallest things, the country he loves now turns on him. The President, Anthony Cook, sees Rapp as a threat, and Rapp is forced to leave the country. Irene Kennedy is able to set up a shaky truce between the two men: Rapp and his men stay in plain sight, and Cook will leave them alone. I was thankful enough to receive an ARC and become once again a Mitch Rapp Ambassador. With that, let me tell you this book is a good. A solid 3.8 out of 5. Going to beak down the good and bad below
The good:
Mitch, Bebe, and Sadie faking the hospital Rush to trick Legion. Thought it was very clever and cool to read
The dropping of the old russian bomb on the Guatemalan head was pretty cool.
The attack on the inside of Claudia house early on in the book
Mas running into the woods with a rifle during the President speech just to turn around a go home was hilarious. Mitch playing mind games was pretty fun to read
The conflict between Darren, Anthony, and Catherine was really well written. You could feel the tension between Darren and Cathrine on the pages
The bad:
This book really had little to no action, you have the attack on the house, the streets of Guatemala car scene, and the dropping of the bomb in Guatemala. All which were in the first half of the book. This definitely turned Into more of the spy thriller than action thriller but I would have loved to see a little more action set pieces with Mitch and the boys.
Felt like the entire time spent in Guatemala was a waste. Like we only went there so we can see Scott and Mitch drop a bomb on the Cartel leaders head. Then right after you get a paragraph talking about how hard it was to escape the country afterwards. Would have been cool to see them go through some hoops rather than a quick paragraph talking about it.
Legion, the big bad Assassin group were kinda a dud for me. The word of mouth aura was there just by the name but it didn't land on the paper. Louie Gould for example had a whole scene in the beginning that set him up. You could see him work on a mission and you knew he was a threat. Legion you got a little back story and then some rumors of hits then did. Didn't land the same for me.
Overall this was a good book but probably not my favorite Mitch Rapp novel. This is supposed to be book 2 of a 3 book story ARC and I have no idea where it's going to go. The President resigning at the end was actually pretty shocker so who knows what is going to happen next.

And, what WILL happen to Mitch? He's had the bad guys (and women) doing their evil best to eliminate, permanently, Mitch, but this time multiple international killers are contacted to see which one would like the pleasure, and financial reward, of being a hero to the diabolical side? Mitch, and especially Scott Coleman, but others from the past are mentioned (Joe Maslick, Bruno McGraw and Charlie Wicker), to see about countering the assassins.
However, there's a new player! Legion! Is it an individual? Multiple players? Mitch is in danger, or is it Claudia, but where to even begin counter measures?
Once again, Kyle provides a page-turner you won't put down until Mitch and Legion go head-to-head.

Oath of Loyalty delivered more than I would have imagined from the title. With the storyline, plot, new characters, and the even more personal threat to Mitch Rapp (but then is there never one) and those around him, this book truly exploded for me. What a great read! I really loved this one!

Oath of Loyalty gave us some old villains along with a new villain - Legion - that really made Mitch and his team work to make sure that Mitch (or Claudia) weren't the ones who ended up dead. Along with the new challenge, in an ever-changing world of technology, communications, and surveillance, you have to be really good and creative -thanks Kyle - to stay secure. Oath of Loyalty provides a page-turning and dynamic story. The locations and descriptions are so vivid you feel like you are right there with the characters, in their very exotic settings, or wish you were. It’s a perfect blend of places we know or places we wish we could visit – if they even exist in the real world.
Kyle Mills has become a master at crafting the perfect Mitch Rapp novels and this one is my favorite by far.

Kyle Mills keeps upping the stakes with each Mitch Rapp novel he puts out and Oath of Loyalty is no different. The book picks up with the ending of the previous book, Enemy at The Gates retold from Mitch Rapp’s perspective. I thought this was brilliant and very well done. It shed a different light on the ending of Enemy at The Gates and was a great way to start off.
The book quickly moves into its main theme, Mitch Rapp versus Anthony Cook, the current president of the United States. This is a great premise and it provided a new challenge for Mitch to solve. Mr. Mills did a great job dialing up the action throughout the book and keep the tension ratchet up even when Mitch wasn’t battling for his life.
Anthony Cook and his wife, Catherine, make for a great enemy for Mitch Rapp. I really enjoyed their character development, and the scary thing is their plotting and scheming seemed something that could happen in today’s world.
While I really enjoyed the whole book the cherry on top was the ending. As it came to the end, I was wondering how Mr. Mills was going to tie up the book without it being a let down. He didn’t disappoint and I raced through the last few chapters because it was so riveting.

I have read every Mitch App novel. When Vince Flynn was alive, the content kept me glued to the book until finished. Rereading many parts. I regret to say that this was the worst Mitch App novel to date.
My opinion was that the writer could not wait to finish this novel. I got to the end and said "that's it?"
Is this the last Mitch App tale? If it is, that is disappointing. There was no action, no intrigue. If I wanted to read about power crazy megalomaniacs, I could just watch the news. Come on . You managed to write the since 2013. The novels have steadily declined in quality and reader interest.
Please do better. I am sure Vince Flynn would not appreciate the direction his character depiction has taken. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my concerns.

Can't get to Mitch? Go after his family. What would you do for your family? Mitch content on retirement... will he ever retire?... now has to bring the fight to the seat of government. Although Flynn's "Term Limits" was never really a Mitch Rapp story, I think back to that novel all the time.
Mitch, ala Kyle Mills, keeps you on the edge of your seat. Action packed thriller. Readers will not be disappointed. Get after it!

I received an ARC of Oath of Loyalty. As a long time reader of the Mitch Rapp series I have to put this story high on the list of books. Most reminiscent of Vince Flynn writing.
The story line is superb: How can a patriot go against his president, How can the president go against his best patriot.
It’s easy and scary to relate this book to modern day politic, but I think Kyle Mills did an excellent job of not trying to relate to a specific President.
As the 21st Mitch Rapp book we know him well, this book solidifies the parts of Rapp as a elite operator, a “loyal” friend, and a compassionate man.
There are some Wow moments, but thankfully one that I thought was going to happen but am thankful it didn’t. Let’s talk after you read the book!

I turn to one of my favorite thriller authors, Kyle Mills with OATH OF LOYALTY, another superbly written saga focusing on cult politics, its dangers, and threat to democracy in the United States. His protagonist, Mitch Rapp, has made it clear, that he is in the fight to protect his homeland from external enemies, but not the domestic variety.
The novel opens with Mitch Rapp chasing down the CIA mole in the heart of Africa. Irene Kennedy has been forced out as Director of the CIA and US President Anthony Cook, along with wife Catherine Cook, are pursuing their version of the New World Order, cabalistic government through personal loyalty,and charismatic, dictatorial autocracy.
Oath of loyalty to the President now supersedes the oath to the US. Constitution. His security is overseen by Stephen Wright, Director of the Secret Service, who begins the purging of anyone connected to Irene Kennedy and Mitch Rapp. Darren Hargrave, a 20-year veteran of Cooks political wars, now is Director of the CIA and is intent on the destruction of Rapp.
Rapp has decades of experience in the art of invasion and evasion, something the Cooks seem to have forgotten. Mills gives the reader a look at how far an operative would go to evade capture, that includes a three day descent into the sewers to avoid assassination.
Darren Hargrave is obsessed with destroying Mitch Rapp and orchestrates attacks in Africa on Rapp’s home with Claudia Gould. Under Cook’s authority, Rapp’s home with Claudia Gould in South Africa is attacked, utilizing cartel thugs. Incensed over the loss of Mike Nash and now his house, Rapp takes Claudia/daughter to Nicholas Ward’s estate in Uganda. There he plots his revenge and implements deadly hits on cartel leaders. He discovers that the President has put out a hit on him.Got to say, Kyle Mills has come up with some creative ways to counter this ploy.
In his mid-forties, Rapp ponders what awaits him in the future. As always, he has his posse of Scott Coleman, Joe Maslick, Bruno McGraw and Charlie Wicker who entertain us with their diversionary antics to give Mitch breathing room. Rapp comes up with the ultimate counter ploy to best his opponent, President Anthony Cook. He exhibits the superior spy craft that has earned him accolades for several decades and demonstrates his psychological prowess and savvy in the ultimate showdown.

This is an improvement over the last few of Mills' Rapp books but it almost feels like I'm grading on a curve. This was a perfectly enjoyable thriller that held my interest, but it just doesn't feel like a Mitch Rapp book to me. There are very few action scenes and Mills continues to make Rapp pretty milquetoast. It feels like in trying to make a mass appeal thriller the series has been sanitized of what made it special.
It sounds like I didn't like the book which isn't the case. I actually enjoyed the plot and how it played out quite a bit even if it was rather implausible. I think just the charm of the original series has been long lost, and every year we'll get a middling thriller that is worth couple of days of entertainment but nothing more.

READ MY FULL REVIEW AT Best Thriller Books
I read Oath Of Loyalty in a day, unable to be released from its gravitational pull of excellence for even a moment. It’s f**king fantastic! Spectacular from start to finish. Sensational, astonishing and magnificent. In the dictionary next to the word “awesome” there should be a picture of the Oath Of Loyalty cover. In fact, just take every superlative you can think of and apply it to this book. It’s that damn good.
The stories Kyle Mills continues to write for the Mitch Rapp series are nothing short of staggering greatness. With the brilliance of Oath Of Loyalty, there’s now enough statistically relevant evidence to state that Kyle is on one hell of a heater. He’s producing hit after hit like he’s on a legendary roll in Vegas with no signs of crapping out anytime soon. He has proven, yet again, that he was the perfect choice to continue this beloved series, taking it to new heights and doing Vince Flynn proud.
Whether you’re a long time Mitch Rapp fan or new to the series, do yourself a favor and purchase this book ASAP, then immediately put it at the top of your TBR pile. You need to read this book. It’s phenomenal and easily one of the best books you’ll read this year!
I read Oath Of Loyalty in a day, unable to be released from its gravitational pull of excellence for even a moment. It’s f**king fantastic! Spectacular from start to finish. Sensational, astonishing and magnificent. In the dictionary next to the word “awesome” there should be a picture of the Oath Of Loyalty cover. In fact, just take every superlative you can think of and apply it to this book. It’s that damn good.
The stories Kyle Mills continues to write for the Mitch Rapp series are nothing short of staggering greatness. With the brilliance of Oath Of Loyalty, there’s now enough statistically relevant evidence to state that Kyle is on one hell of a heater. He’s producing hit after hit like he’s on a legendary roll in Vegas with no signs of crapping out anytime soon. He has proven, yet again, that he was the perfect choice to continue this beloved series, taking it to new heights and doing Vince Flynn proud.
Whether you’re a long time Mitch Rapp fan or new to the series, do yourself a favor and purchase this book ASAP, then immediately put it at the top of your TBR pile. You need to read this book. It’s phenomenal and easily one of the best books you’ll read this year!

Wow. Mitch Rapp is back. You could argue he is facing his most dangerous foe. The President of the United States. POTUS here is a megalomaniac (along with his wife) and they’ve forced Rapp’s hand.
After coming to a truce, POTUS and his minions immediately counter and go after what Rapp values the most in his world: his family. While the hand isn’t plain, it doesn’t take long for Rapp and Kennedy (recently fired from her position) to figure the Cooks are behind the plot to kill Anna and Rapp has eyes for only the end of the Cook’s reign.
The story introduces some other interesting characters while brining back some old faces. But it also does what any great Rapp book has done in the past and that is to show the heroes outwitting their foes not through deadly force but by playing chess while their opponents play checkers. Bravo Mr. Mills for another great entry.

As a Mitch Rapp Ambassador, I had the opportunity to get an advanced reader copy of Oath of Loyalty. I have been a loyal fan of the Mitch Rapp series for several years now and each year, the new Mitch Rapp novel is by far the hottest read of the fall. This time, Mitch found himself in a battle against an unusual enemy. Kyle Mills gave us a different view of Mitch Rapp as he was intensely focused on protecting those he loves most. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading this book, and there were even some parts where I actually laughed out loud. This book brings you through the whole emotion journey and it kept me entertained throughout the whole book. I could not more strongly recommending this book. Kyle Mills has done such a tremendous job picking up where Vince Flynn left off. Vince Flynn is most definitely looking down with pride seeing this incredible series continue in such good hands.

Book # 21 in the series that Vince Flynn started, Kyle Mills has done a fantastic job of continuing the story of Mitch Rapp.
The book starts where book # 20, Enemy at the Gates left off. The curve ball that was thrown at the reader at the end of that book was explosive, now we see it through Mitches eyes and even knowing what was going to happen, it is still one of the best plot twists I have ever read.
Mitch has finally found some happiness in his life, but the President is terrified of Mitch and decides he needs to make it clear to Mitch that he is untouchable. Bad idea Mr. President, nothing means more to Mitch than his new family, you poked the wrong bear.
This is one of my all time favorite series, I look forward to the annual installment.

Mitch Rapp is ready to take it easy and Irene Kennedy meets with President Anthony Cook, the First Lady, and his top advisors to negotiate a truce; however, Cook is convinced that Rapp intends to kill him. His paranoia is fanned by his closest advisors, especially Irene's successor as head of the CIA, who are changing security protocols and systematically purging all of Rapp's comrades from the intelligence community. Then, a plan is executed to make Rapp's wife, Claudia, a target for her former enemies to distract Rapp into protecting her and seeking vengeance against others. Their idyllic home in South Africa is ravaged, and Mitch goes after a Central America drug lord with military weapons. When a second adversary hires a team called Legion that never misses and never stops, Mitch and Irene recruit a double for Claudia to see if Legion can be stopped. Non-stop action.

Blessed to have received an ARC of this book and it is definitely on of the BEST in the Mitch Rapp series. Kyle Mills has kept the integrity of Vince Flynn’s characters while also introducing new one - protagonists and antagonists. This book is a fantastic story of a power-hungry White House that is out of control and going after Rapp (an obvious mistake). Read this 5 star thriller yourself and hang on for the ride! You won’t be disappointed!
