I didn’t like the MMC. This story came across as old fashioned and back woods. Jacob was like a he man, overly controlling, lustful, and a boar. It was quite violent too with descriptive imagery of cougar attacks I had to skip over. I gave it 3 stars for the writing but otherwise I would give it 2 stars. I have read other books by the author that I liked in the past but I can’t say this was one of them.

Country Love Story

Ann and Jacob meet on a country road. They both have a troubled past to overcome in their search for love. This book has a strong Christian message which I appreciated. Setting: Ozark region of Missouri.

Wonderful and a great inspiration to me.

This book was amazing and kept you there wondering what was going to happen next. Really enjoyed how they let the Lord lead them. Thank you for a wonderful book.

Five plus!

I could not put this down once I started reading it. There is a relationship I know about that involves reuniting, marrying and moving into his home. Due to threats eloping, and moving without telling anyone prior too. I wonder how many others take place within weeks! Thanks Regina!

Because of proofreading errors, this was a painful book to read. Reign for rein, your for you're, etc. caused major distractions in trying to determine context and plot. Additionally, the almost instantaneous physical desire between the two main characters was unrealistic and slightly disturbing. Both continually claimed, mentally, that they had never had these feelings before, and yet barely tore themselves away from one another to remain sexually pure. This could have been about a 20 page book if they hadn't had quite so many long, drawn-out looks and touches. Seriously, 10 (kindle) pages of putting a bandage on a knee?! I already own the next two in the series, and frankly, haven't yet decided whether I'll try to read them. As a reading addict, that is a significant admission.

This is a great suspense and romance read. The first book in the Ozark Durham series and I'm ready to read more. Jacob & Ann met in unexpected circumstances. Jacob a single father and Ann a single women both are fighting their way through difficult circumstances. When they meet Ann thinks Jacob is just like every other man, boy is she wrong. I enjoyed the two of them working their way to each other and the struggles along the way. Their strength and faith was heartwarming and I'd recommend this book.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was a great summer read. I thought all the characters were well described and came to life throughout the story. It had just enough hummer and suspense to keep you interested until the end. I felt the sexual tension between the two main characters was believable but the author kept it clean. I enjoy a book when I don't have to read a lot of cursing and explicit sex scenes. Thank you Regina for a nice Christian Romance that I feel good about recommending to my friends and family

Wrongly accused and healing

Very intriguing read. Enjoyed the twists and turns in the story. Ann is trying to recover from unwanted attention from her former employer and false accusations. Jacob is trying to hold things together for his two children after his wife abandoned them and filed for divorce. When a chance meeting brings Jacob and Ann together sparks of attraction begin to fly between them.

Using a story to convey important lessons without preaching is a skill not apparent in this book. I felt the main messages the author wanted to convey were handled in a very heavy handed way that made the story feel unnatural and unreal.

I couldn't finish it. The insta love was ridiculous. They have known each other for a few hours and are already kissing passionately and the dad is telling them that he can tell they love each other. What? That's called lust, not love.
