Opening this book instantly took me back to seeing the exhibition in person this past summer. It's amazing to see these specimens in beautiful arrangements and detail, but even more interesting to hear Marley's thoughts and interactions between art and science. The encouragement of the amateur and the undeniable defense for the importance of art even in such intellectual fields makes me feel further encouraged to pursue scientific illustration.
