Realm Crashers and the Shadow King

Rate this book
Teenager Alex O'Connor had no complaints about his typical life. Alex was a stellar student in
school, had a best friend Micheal Barnes that made his life adventurous, and had adoptive
parents that were indifferent toward him. But he was okay with all that. He was going to leave
his small town eventually. He just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
One afternoon, after a wrong turn in the forest, Alex and Micheal find themselves in a new
realm. At first, the world was magical, the best kind. But it is not as enchanting as they
expected. There is evil lurking in the shadows of the new realm. Alex and Micheal, with their
guides, must travel to the accursed Inferno Realm of the Shadow King to return home.
Confronted with threats to their mortality and the truths of their pasts, they must fight their
physical adversaries along with their inner demons. Alex and Micheal must rely on their new
acquaintances to not lead them astray. But when things go awry, Alex must uncover the
deepest secrets of the realm.
Danger will follow them everywhere. Trust will be earned. Friendships will be created.
Treachery will be committed. Alex will have to learn a valuable lesson…be careful of what you
believe in.

I really enjoyed reading the first realm crashers book! The characters were well developed and I felt like I had the ability to watch the characters grow. Not just that but the world building was well done and I was truly immersed. While there was some instances of clumsy writing, overall it was a good read and I highly recommend it. I look forward to reading Nicole Cavey’s future books!
