This is the best book about numerology that I have ever read. I've read several books on numerology and I've browsed many in the bookstores. This book actually tells you how to make a numerological chart and how to read it. It is good for a beginner or a more advanced individual in the art of numerology.

Most numerology books describe the numbers generally, then give you several different methods to determine several different types of numbers. This book is different. It tells you how to make a chart and how to read that chart. It's very easy and it's explained very well. It also tells you how to do the other calculations from the book, but doesn't dwell on it and goes more in depth of why you do it.

If you're looking for a book on numerology this is the only one to get.

This is a fun year-end read, and I always enjoy reading beyond my usual comfort zone.

I do believe that maths and numbers somehow make up an important part of the underlying structure of our world and existence and even beyond. It is important in physics and science and I always wonder how mathematicians and physicists come up with all those complicating theories using calculations and maths formulas.

One key take away for me is the 9 year cycles of life, and it did strike me that the crest of some of those 9 year cycles (which differs in age for different persons) for me did coincide with some major changes in my life.

This was a fun read, although I do wonder about the portion on names, sounds and how they translate into numbers and meanings. Afterall, language and meaning are arbitrary and cultural. The writer did not account for how names in different languages will pan out - whether similarly or differently. So I still retain a bit of that skeptic in me, which my Buddhist teacher say is necessary.

Just retain a sense of wonder and openness to this - there is no harm taking some risks or being more cautious when the intuitive, non-physical realm points to it. But balance this with observation and judgement and don't be a slave to what numerology says because then you would be denying your agency and own intuition. Also accept that in life you will never truly know or always be able to exert control on your environment, but having equanimity, a sense of adventure, and being able to laugh and enjoy whether you win some or loose some - makes good sense.

I've had this book sitting on my cloud for the longest. I don't know. I obviously was interested enough to buy it, but every time I tried to read it I would get impatient and exit out.

Well, I finally read it today while reading more about Pythagorean numerology and not finding the information I wanted online. It seems funny to me that as a result of my impatience I finally had the patience to read this book.

The chapters are fairly short which I really liked and the information is laid out clearly. It's a good introduction which is what I was for looking for. It doesn't really go into the theory behind the principles in the book, but I'm okay with that for the moment. It just gives me an excuse to read more!

Our soul makes a plan for each incarnation, and our astrological chart and numerology charts are blueprints that can give us understanding of what the soul’s plan is. Coded in our birth hour, numbers and name, etc. are traits, vibrations and more that will help us and guide us on our journey in that given lifetime.

Knowing this, I was looking for two things from The Complete Book of Numerology: 1) A deeper understanding of the science of numerology; and 2) Deeper insight into my own journey. The book delivers on the former, with a brief but helpful history of numerology; and easy to follow directions to calculate one’s life path, soul urge number and much more. However, once the numbers were calculated, Phillips’ definitions of the meanings of each number did not resonate with my journey. For example, I understand the number seven to represent seeking/learning. This book ascribes a different meaning to that number. His description of the pyramids was interesting, but my pyramids, once calculated, didn’t resonate with my life journey. (I have found my astrological chart, including the north node, to be a much truer record of and guide to my life.)

Finally, there were some thoughts presented with which I disagreed completely, e.g. Phillips talks about the importance of parents choosing a child’s name with good numerical properties. However, I believe the soul chooses its name before birth, and the soul will choose the name with the numbers that serve It best in a given life. Because of this, parents will subconsciously follow their inner guidance when naming a child, and don’t need to worry about making a conscious choice.

In summary, this was a worthwhile read, but its lack of resonance means it probably won’t be reread often.

Great introduction

Phillips is very knowledgeable and provides an intelligent introduction into the metaphysical study of numerology. Aside from a few bold assumptions, this book is a high standard among the field.

Super easy to read and understand, this is book tells me everything I need as a person who knew nothing about Numerology. In less than an hour, I learned how to draw a chart and how to read it (at a basic level). It doesn’t go into much depth though, so it’s only great if you’re a complete beginner like me.

Fairly straightforward and to the point.

Some interesting concepts such as the use of a triangle to record pinnacles, the Birth date and name number charts and their "Arrows" I certainly what I look further into and may adopt going forward.

Some strange concepts presented including the Number 10 energy, used in places and not in others and sometimes separate from the Number 1 energy.

Definitely taking what resonates.

Amazing

Great book, such an amazing content, this book hooked me up instantly and now every time I have the chance I analyze people’s numbers and the more I use such knowledge the more I get more convinced of its validity.

Rather extreme and involves a lot of speculation. It claims based on pythagorean theory. However, for me, it is more superstition than based on science. The book is more of an application of pythagorean idea on calendar. Pythagor died before christ, thus before the modern calendar

This is my first time reading on the matter so i am not sure if i am missing something but to me this book felt very complete. Analyzing my own chart i was nodding in agreement at how accurate this science is

Informative

This book was informative and easy to read. Definitely recommend deeper study into the subject, but it's wonderfully explained for a numerology beginner like myself.

Very informative! I'm honestly surprised with all the information packed into this book it's not double or triple the size. 5 stars.

I was looking for a broad and basic description of Pythagorean numerology, and I believe I have found it in this modern classic, The Complete Book of Numerology by David A. Phillips, Ph.D. The author clearly and succinctly explains the methods of determining key numbers such as the Ruling Number (called Life Path in some other texts), day number, and name numbers. He also demonstrates how to create a birth chart and a name chart and explores deeper concepts such as Arrows of Individuality and Pyramids to identify peaks in the nine-year cycle of change.
A Comprehensive Explanation

In addition to the calculation of numbers and configurations of charts, the author provides basic descriptions of the meanings of numbers in various situations. He includes detail in using the knowledge to better understand traits, develop strengths and overcome weaknesses. The book can be easily used as a working handbook of practical numerology
.
There is more, however. Phillips provides background about the philosophical and metaphysical underpinnings of numerology as a science. This includes chapters on such esoteric subjects as the connection between astrology and numerology, relationship compatibility, and even reincarnation. Giving just enough information without overwhelming the novice (like me), the book lives up to it’s subtitle: “Discovering the Inner Self.”

One of the things I look for in reading nonfiction is whether the book stimulates me to learn more, to pursue further information on the subject, and a desire to explore the topic in greater depth. This book certainly did that.

Haha, my friend recommended me a video about numerology and I searched and read the whole book in a night ( that made me missed some deadines... )
This is actually a good book ( it gave me some in-depth information about how-to-read a person-born destiny.). If you are a stoic, and believe in our already-defined destine (death of course, haha). Read this book to learn more about
* Your name
* Your birthchart
* Your plane (pros and cons )
...
and so on. Please keep in mind that don't so worry about the result, it just tell you half of the story.
The rest, depending on how you will react.
(Wondering about my reaction ? I'm considering about how to name my children now...)

About the video, you can find them on youtube (Vietnamese of course )

This is the first book I read on Numerology and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book provides you with the foundation of numerology, it gives you a good basic understanding. I love that the chapters are short and straight to the point. And I really appreciate that this book doesn’t only provide theoretical information but it offers clear examples of how to create the charts and gives you small assignments to practice it yourself.

Here are some of the things you will learn:
You will learn about the meaning of numbers and how to create a birth chart based on your birthdate. You learn about the 9 cycles of change and how to create the pyramids that show you your peak years in life. You also learn how to make a name chart based on the numbers within your name. You will also find out your ruling number, soul urge number, expression number, and complete name number.

Fun read, provides decent surface level information and leads to a working knowledge of numerology without delving into the qabalah and other deeply esoteric philosophies. It was exactly what I needed for my purposes, and I'm sure it would be even more valuable to someone with a more spiritual interest in the subject.

This book goes in-depth and worth the read. The current asking price on kindle is a steal (99 cents when I bought it!) so if you have a kindle and want to read it- it's currently cheap. The worst part of this book is that it got a little confusing at times, but I eventually got it, after reading that section several times.

Although, it is good enough for beginners. I was still a bit confused at how the select the right results on the 'Power of Names' content. Otherwise it is a good book to start somewhere at the very least.

Fascinating Read

Clearly explained, although fitting the various aspects together into a coherent strategy for gaining greater spiritual awareness was difficult. Accessible book for 'beginners'.

This book is a flop- doesn't even explain how to create your own birth chart in the beginning. Where and how does "444" appear out of nowhere into a particular spot of the chart without any explanation why that number appears in that spot. Gave up reading it. Needs better explanation.

My mind has been blown over a subject I initially thought was completely interpretive. Ok, intellectually I assumed it was ‘woo woo’. Actually working through it was eye opening. So interesting!!
