The PC Gaming Reader

Rate this book
In the corner of the PC Gamer office, three over-stuffed bookcases loom. They contain every issue of the magazine ever published, and combined it's a remarkable amount of intelligent, funny and surprising writing about PC games. Choosing the very best from such a large collection of great work would be a challenge. Choosing the very best when those bookcases were joined by similarly grand collections from PC Zone, PC Format and Edge was nearly impossible. But that's what we've done. The book in your hands contains some of the best articles ever written about PC games from the last fifteen years, from Kieron Gillen's review of Deus Ex, to Charlie Brooker's review of Euro Truck Simulator. It's an anthology of reasons why PC gaming is great, and an exciting indication of all the wonderful games, and writing, that's still to come.

A collection of some excellent games writing. Some of it isn't quite so good, mind, but a lot of it is high-quality and innovative reviewing, insightful features, and excellent vignettes.
