A book full of practical information on choosing the best type of birth experience for you and your baby and what to do in the final 8 weeks to prepare. Full of humour and encouraging birth stories, every mother-to-be will find it invaluable.
While it was interesting to hear about lots of different methods and techniques for childbirth, this book was built almost entirely on anecdotal evidence. It felt very unreliable. could be a good place to start for someone who likes to have lots of possibilities to research, but it's not a good definitive guide for someone who just wants answers to be as clear as they can be.
I was gifted this by a family member of the writer. I think it’s brilliant to find a book so focused on birth and not just the pregnancy - this is baby number two and I still found this book incredibly valuable. It’s also very easy to read, which is a bonus when everything else (sleeping, eating, working, breathing...) is difficult.
When a book suggests to kiss your partner during labour (as loosening up your facial lips helps the other lips - the book's theory, not my own), it is clearly meant to be read for a laugh rather than effective and useful birthing advice! :)
