The Lie captured me with the first sentence and kept me turning pages until the end. Discouraged by failure and faced with difficult situations, 17-year-old Jace makes a decision that changes his life and has far-reaching results. Lori Pollard-Johnson brings to life all the angst of teenage pregnancy and then ups the stakes by adding the life-or-death reality of military service. This compelling story will stay with the reader long after the last page has been turned. I highly recommend it for young adults, and not-so-young adults too.
