BLUR is that muddled state we find ourselves in when we experience mind-boggling life cancer, illness, deaths, tornados, hurricanes and now I need to add COVID to that list. A long string of painful losses—loss of a spouse, a family member or close friend; loss of a job, loss of income, loss of home, loss of control, loss of routine—or too many painful unexpected events too close together—too much change, too much demand, too much uncertainty. Worry, anxiety, lack of sleep, and loss of health overtake us—plus theaccompanying barrage offears and hesitations these stresses fear of new places and circumstances, fear of driving in unfamiliar areas, fear of learning new information but not remembering it, fear of painful attempts and failures, forgetfulness, confusion, disorientation, loss of balance, loss of trust in others, loss of dreams, loss of passion, loss of enthusiasm, and most devastating of all—loss of trust in ourselves.
There is a path out of BLUR! Skill-by-skill, story-by-story, this book will guide you. And this book shares a powerful and inspiring story of love and resilience.
This is also a book about LEADERSHIP—how to lead in moments when you are in BLUR or your partner or family or organization is, and you are asked to step up—even when you don’t feel you can but you must, even when others are not there to play their usual parts, even when you find all your stuff plus all their stuff on your plate—and it’s already overflowing. This is a book about CLEARING THE WAY AHEAD even in the worst of times.
What happens when you cross a top executive trainer and success coach with a bestselling rabbi who lost 100 pounds... and kept it off?
A miracle? Yes, The Miracle Diet!
When Susan met Rabbi Celso Cukierkorn in a hot yoga class, little did she know that the 10 Success Skills she had been teaching in top corporations would find a new focus... weight loss! In their new book, The Miracle Diet: Lose Weight and Gain Health... 10 Diet Skills, her techniques which have been so profoundly effective in business are proving to be even more profoundly effective at achieving results in health!
Where did Susan's success journey begin?
When Susan was a researcher at the National Institutes of Health, she proposed studying healthy, contributing members of society instead of ill and dysfunctional ones. And her colleagues all laughed. Committed to finding answers, she asked herself, what are Highly Success People (HSPs) doing that other people aren't? Susan shadowed outstanding individuals and teams for months at a time and discovered they were using 10 skills consistently... but unconsciously. In 1985, Collins started teaching The Technology of Success in major businesses and organizations.

A future memory is not a memory that will come to you at some later time, it’s an expectation about what future will be that is stored in your brain.” - Susan Ford Collins @susanfordcollins - “Blur” clear the way ahead 📖
- In this book author Susan Collins shares her real life story how she struggled very hard in a particular phase of her life. Her partner struggled with a terminal disease and at the same time a natural disaster damaged her home. Author narrated her own experiences and how she dealt with them.
Blur - there is a concept of Blur in the book. Author explains Blur as a state we find ourselves in when we experience a long string of painful losses during which we suffer with forgetfulness, sensory overload or mental fatigue. Life becomes overload and you’re shaken to the core. In this phase there is a way out. - Author also explains success in this book. She divides it in three parts - 1. Success is completion = Finishing + acknowledging 2. Successes deletion = letting go of ideas that don’t serve you. 3. Success is creation = inventing new ways of doing things.
Be sure to include all three essential parts of success - says author.
🔆 I like some parts of the book really much. Author shares some good life and leadership tips and her own personal story is also very inspiring. What I didn’t like about the book is length of chapters who book is basically divided in three chapters only which makes it a tedious task to go through it. Overall there is some value in the book that I really appreciate.
