Chiaki is beyond ecstatic. Maestro Stresemann has decided to conduct the A orchestra and has asked Chiaki to join him. But who will lead the S orchestra? Drastic measures mean a hilarious concert, and a festival to remember. From the student body to the faculty, the whole school is abuzz with anticipation. Nodame is playing a piano concerto, Chiaki is also tickling the ivories (and honored to be lead by the Great Master), and the S orchestra is just thrilled to be part of the program. Of course the real excitement begins the night before the musical event. . . .
Plus, there’s a special story about Chiaki’s first meeting with Sebastiano Viera. You won’t want to miss it!
Tomoko NINOMIYA (Japanese name: 二宮 知子) is a Japanese manga artist. In 1989, she made her debut with London Doubt Boys. She is best known for her series Nodame Cantabile, which received the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo manga. Nodame Cantabile has been adapted for television as both live-action drama series and 3 anime seasons.
The scene that S orchestra plays by a school festival is novel, and it is cool! I think that you can enjoy it even if you don't know classical music. Rakhmaninov of Chiaki is the already best! I want you to look even at animation and the drama. I am impressed!
There's quite a shift in both Chiaki and Nodame's characters in this volume with regards to their passion for music. I really love this volume, because a lot of characters on this manga made progress as individuals. I find it hilarious how people who don't know Chiaki and Nodame personally think they're actually dating and living together. Their relationship is so weird in the best way! We also get a chapter of Chiaki's childhood, something that was skipped in the anime.
Finally, The S orchestra had a opportunity to hold a performance in the school festival, and it impressed a large audience, but Chiaki was not there. He had another performance with Stresemann there. It also impressed a large audience, and Chiaki became famous because of that performance. I feel sad even though I like this manga. I know they practiced it together, but they couldn’t have a performance together and couldn’t be famous as the S orchestra.
El ingenio de la orquesta S en su presentación. El sentir de Nodame después del concierto de Chiaki. La historia de Chiaki con el maestro Viera. A veces una historia no necesita de grandes palabras, basta con que te haga sentir vivo.
The S Orchestra concert was so powerful, I just had to watch that scene in the dorama, and it was totally worth it. Rhapsody in Blue... WOW! So touching. So sugoi... I NEED to give this dorama another chance...
Also incredible when Chiaki played the piano with Nodame. And this part I did not even have to watch it on "live"; in the manga alone was a WOW moment again. The passion they both pour in every single note they play. Genius.

This review is for the series as a (almost) whole, reviewing after reading books 1-10.
It took me quite some time to really get into this series. Books 2-4 were okay. They kept me entertained and curious enough to keep going, but I don't think it was really until book 5 that I really got invested in the series and Nodame and Shinichi.
I'm not a fan of classical music so some of the lingo and storylines went over my head, but I got the gist of most stuff. Shinichi finds himself stuck with Nodame no matter how mean he is to her. He tries to make her aware that he wants nothing to do with her, but when something goes wrong he is always there. When she leaves their apartment complex mysteriously for a long period of time he must know what happened and if she's okay. And Nodame loves him despite everything. Even though she's a little nutty and extremely childlike she does her best to take care of him, ultimately giving him the greatest gift she could give him and he doesn't even know it.
Unfortunately, the library only has the first 10 books so I'm on the hunt for books 11-16 which is proving to be harder than I thought. I did also find that Crackle has the anime series available to watch!
Nodame - Noda Megumi is a girl who like playing piano since she is a little girl, but weirdy she can't read a music score ?? She play it with Cantabile Style - when she hear another people playing piano, she can remembered it and played it. She is a little like stupid girl who cannot cook and really lazy to clean her apartement where she live.
One day when she meet with Chiaki-sama - the son of a famous pianist who have a dream becoming a famous conductor. But too bad his fear of flying make his dream must wait. she teaches Chiaki something that he has forgotten for a long time that is to enjoy the music we play / hear no matter when and where.
This is why I fell in love with The Rach 2. And while it was hard to "hear" the music as I read it, the anime only beautified even more. And I'm talking about the first movement, not the popular Adagio Sostenuto. But going back to the manga, it really brings the music to life in another artistic way.
This volume brings us to the school festival, where all sorts of hilarity ensues! I'm always impressed with how Tomoko-san is able to bring the music alive through the pages! Astounding!
There is also a special story at the end which gives some background to Chiaki and his childhood - a nice little extra!
