well this was disappointing ☹️ love triangles are my favourite trope and the beginning of this book I thought it was lining up to be an ANGSTY heart wrenching ride but it just fell a bit flat for me

This follows Maverick, who’s about the marry the brother of the man she’s been in love with all her life Kael (who’s always been in love with her too) Killian, said love of Mavericks life has just married Mavericks sister in a shock turn of events which is the ultimate betrayal to her, and she doesn’t have the answers as to why he did this.
The 3 of them have been childhood best friends, and Kael has also been in love with Maverick whilst watching her pine over his brother.

Messy? Toxic? CHAOTIC? You’d think so…
But it just wasn’t 🫣

I just needed so much more from this, the miscommunication around why Killian marries her sister was infuriating, we get flashbacks but not enough for me to feel like what her & Killian had was all consuming and real, I loved Kael from the start and never really at any point rooted for Killian
A love triangle done right has me honestly struggling to pick between the mmcs and the whole time reading this I just hoped she stuck with Kael, the premise was SO good but there was missed opportunities to make this gripping, I didn’t feel like the yearning was justified from Killian I just dunno
It was a bit meh

Also there’s a random storyline like where one of the mmcs gets shot at the start and we don’t loop back to the present day until the end of book after she’s made her decision and I don’t feel like the shooting storyline served any purpose whatsoever to the choices made/the romance/the plot it was so random and unnecessary 🤣

Locked in to all the drama, but... This book is not for Team Conrad girlies (iykyk). It felt like reading Belly and Jeremiah fan fiction towards the end.

This book had its moments, but overall, it left me more frustrated than satisfied. The MMC had some beautifully romantic lines that made me swoon, but the FMC? Girl, please heal before jumping into marriage with your ex’s brother😭. The emotional messiness could have been compelling, but instead, it just felt frustrating. It wasn’t the worst book I’ve read, but it definitely could have been better.🥹

I really enjoyed this book! Took me through a whole roller coaster. I honestly would’ve thrown this book across the roooom if she didn’t choose who she chose. Sometimes love is right in front of your face the whole time, but you’re too busy chasing what you think love should look like, or who you believe you should love.

My heart ached for each of the brothers in different ways one for loving quietly and patiently, the other for loving fiercely and openly. Both loved her so unconditionally. It was painful to see how their love for Mav, that strained a bond that should have been unbreakable between the brothers . Love is something meant to bring people closer, instead became the wedge in all of their relationships . The tension between the brothers added an extra layer of sadness to the story, making the emotional conflict feel heavier than the romance itself.

It was meh at best. I couldn’t really get behind the weird ass nicknames that everyone had for the main character, nor could I get over her real name. Maybe its because I watched The Summer I Turned Pretty, but the idea of having to choose between brothers when one has always been there for you is actually insane, and to make it seen like a hard choice is also insane.

I really don’t know how to describe the feelings this book left me with. I was infuriated at some points, but also almost in tears during others. This is the definition of “pick me, choose me, love me.” Good read but be ready to feel allllll the feels. My only downside was the pet names were horrendous. Gave me the ick for sure.
